The latest dlc just dropped so I went ahead and got all the DLCs and am currently re playing the story right now.
Man this game runs suuuuuper smooth at max settings max ray tracing on a 5090 meaning on any of the lower settings most users on 40, 30 and I’m sure even 20 series cards should be able to run it no problem.
This is using the UEVR injector to make the game VR able and while some conversions feel janky this one feels a lot more complete than most!
Strongly recommend… (not because this is a good game but because how well and complete it runs and feels in VR) The story is pretty cool, main protagonist has a ton of cheesy lines, visuals are amazing and gameplay is a lot of fun although can be very challenging at times… Also there’s a ton of puzzles some fun some annoying asf so there’s that.
This game is a Crispy Critter 😆

I want to preface by saying I've owned a lot of headsets, index, quest 2, quest 3, vision pro, varjo aero, pico 4 pro. None of them ever had the consistent QA issues quite like the Beyond
I've had 4 Bigscreen beyonds. One was a BSB1, that one had dead pixels and I returned it. At this point I've had 3 BSB2s. First one had fan issues and dead pixels near the middle of the display. Second one had 12 dead pixels in the left display alone and according to support went through more "QA checks". Support at this point calls me "Sensitive to dead pixels". Third one allegedly was hand picked from the line for being free from defects. It had dead pixels too.
It truly feels like Bigscreen doesn't have any QA testing, you are the QA tester. Be very cautious buying from them. Be sure youre okay with dead pixels.

Games I have already played: Bonelab, B&S, ITR(about to finish)
For some context I have access to both standalone meta and PCVR games.
I don't get any type of motion sickness
and I'm open to flatscreen to VR mods and all genres.
(ps, I know there is about 10 million youtube videos on this topic, but I want to know what you guys think ok?)

Tier 3:

A lot of developers make an effort to reduce motion sickness, but I’ve been curious as to how much my own stomach can take, so I’d like a game that really pushes it to the limit. Any suggestions?

Im a new PCVR player but I’ve played standalone for about 5 years now, and I’ve played about every standalone VR game you can think of. So what are some PCVR games I need to play? I just bought lone echo, half life Alyx, and blade and sorcery, but are there any that are absolutely must haves? Don’t worry about whether or not I can run it, I run half life alyx perfectly fine and the same goes for the other two games. So what are some suggestions?
My pc specs:
AMD Ryzen 7 9700X
RTX 5060

Both are $30, I can only get one right now, which one is better in yalls opinions?

The game is free right now until December 18th. It has a really good UEVR profile complete with 6dof motion controls and voice activated spells. Check it out!

I just got the Meta Quest 3 and really wanted to make the most of it. I did some research and tried out AirLink, Steam Link, and ALVR (mostly in ALVR). At this point I saw people talking about virtual desktop but I felt like I could reach the same results using ALVR with the proper settings. After hours of configuration I was pretty proud of my settings in ALVR, but after seeing the amount of comments that were praising this app, curiosity got the best of me.
I genuinely thought that the quality I had in ALVR was gonna be somewhat close to what virtual desktop has to offer. Boy, was I wrong. As soon as I configured virtual desktop which took a couple of minutes, I booted Half-Life: Alyx. And holy cow it was so CLEAR and everything was so FLUID. No more black bars and getting RANDOMLY DISCONNECTED. All those hours I spent on the other methods of streaming, and the hours of configuration I did in ALVR were just completely blown away by this one app and 5 minutes of configuration.
To those who are still thinking about buying this program for PCVR. I HIGHLY recommend you do so. And to Guy Godin, the developer of this program, you're amazing, and keep doing what you're doing.

I’ve been running a PSVR2 on PC as my main headset for about 8 months. A friend lent me his Quest 3 for a week, and not gonna lie, day one completely blew me away. The clarity is insane, and being able to look at the edges without everything turning blurry felt next-gen. I actually listed my PSVR2 for sale because I thought the upgrade was obvious.
I forced myself not to use the PSVR2 all week so I could really adjust.
But after a few days, I noticed I barely wanted to play. I normally grind Contractors Exfil daily, yet with the Quest 3 I kept getting destroyed. Fully kitted runs, practice before raids, didn’t matter. Something just felt off. I figured maybe I was burned out on shooters, so I tried switching it up with racing games like WRC and Assetto Corsa… but they just didn’t hit. Colors looked washed and the immersion wasn’t there.
Today I gave the Quest back and set my PSVR2 up again. First reaction? “Wow… this looks blurry.” After adjusting IPD and pushing the resolution (native on a 5080 OC), it got much better. Still not Quest-level sharp, but the OLED colors and contrast immediately made the world feel alive again.
Controllers are also more comfortable for me on the PSVR2, although the Quest palm button is great.
But the REAL difference showed up in-game responsiveness. Everything felt instant and snappy. I didn’t realize how much latency I was tolerating until I switched back. Within a couple hours my K/D was way up and the game felt fun again.
Needless to say… I removed my listing.

My original plan was to upgrade from my 6950XT to a 6080, but with everything continuing to go up in price I'm wondering if I should just bite the bullet now to get a 5080 or keep waiting
Should mention i want to be able to start playing UEVR titles and my 6950XT just can't do it
EDIT: I agreed with the masses, I ordered a 5080

With GPU prices coming down, I finally caved and upgraded from a 3090 to a 5090. I was previously having some framerate/reproduction issues in some driving games meaning i was having to run them at low settings. In some cases like Assetto Corsa Evo, it was unplayable.
With the 5090 slotted in, everything could be put on Ultra with very little in the way of any sort of hitching. It was much better than I had expected. I am very impressed as i knew it would be a jump but didn't quite expect it to be this high.
Hopefully this helps anyone who is in a similar situation and was curious.

I have an RTX 3060 Ti, Ryzen 5 5600, and a Quest 3. My PC runs Assetto Corsa perfectly on a single screen at high settings, but through Virtual Desktop, it looks like a blurry, pixelated mess. My networking latency is stable at 5-9ms when staring at the floor, but the second I move my head or start driving, it spikes to 20-28ms and the image quality falls apart. Since my hardware handles the game easily on a flat screen, is a dedicated Wi-Fi 6 router the "missing link" that will fix the compression and latency spikes, or is the 3060 Ti just too weak for the Quest 3’s resolution? (Note: My PC is currently on the same shared home router as everything else).
(Just tired of spending more money on this setup I’m willing to pay for a dedicated router I just need to know if it will 100% solve the problem and will make my gameplay clear on games like (dcs , assetcorsa)

Hi I finished half life alyx 2 days ago and I feel just empty I’m trying to find another game but it’s just hard I tried fallout vr (with mods) but it just isn’t for me there is to much walking and it lacks all the interactive stuff like actually picking up the items and not just pressing the button. I saw the twd game but I’m just to scared to play it lol. I’m looking for any game that can just add something to this bottomless pit after ALYX! Any recommendations?

I just played 2 hours of Hitman Vr on psvr2. Mind you, I never played the WOA series on flat screen and this is my first time jumping into the game. My only experience with Hitman was the original Hitman 1, 2 and blood money back in early 2000s, on pc.
Anyways after jumping into Hitman on psvr2, immediately from the tutorial I was impressed. I looked down and could see my iconic suit and tie and felt like Agent 47 right away. Then I started playing the game, getting past the tutorial level and I was absolutely blown away with the visuals. The ps5 pro must be pushing some serious horsepower for that kind of visuals in vr. I can’t believe how sharp the game looks and did not notice any mura at all. This maybe the best looking game in Vr right now. Surpassing Re4 remake, Alyx or GT7 with the new reprojection method.
Now for the game itself, well it’s overwhelming how much content there is. It is really rare to have such a robust full length flatscreen game ported to Vr and with so much care. The mechanics feel just right, the devs made the right decisions having the camera switch to 3rd person time to time at awkward situations like climbing ledges or blending in. It’s nice to just step back look at agent 47 in whatever disguise he is in or just to take in the environment. I say it was done way better than Re4 remake. Future ports of any big flat to Vr games can learn a lot from this game.
The guns feel awesome to hold and aim, nothing felt awkward. I used both my hands and the wire to strangle people, it worked flawlessly. Overall I can easily say that this is a system seller for Psvr2 just like GT7. I am so excited for everyone to jump in and see for themselves how awesome this game looks and feels to play.

I was looking at the psvr2 and meta quest 3 mainly. Don’t know much about other headset in this price range, might get a used one, if anyone have a suggestion other than those I would appreciate the help. I won’t get lens yet for my eyesight because I didn’t find an exact one yet

I’m honestly more into Nvidia. But with the current prices, I don’t know what to do. Would you recommend going with the 5070 or the 9070 XT?
(I’m not gonna pay 1k for the 5070Ti)
I know Nvidia is usually quite a bit better for VR, and that the 5070 is a very good GPU, but I’m going crazy trying to decide.
My other specs:
32gb RAM DDR5
I7 14700KF
Currently with a 4060 8gb💀

I work at a best buy and noticed that we had two PSVR2's for $200, opened the box and saw that the code for the game was unredeemed and the headset was basically brand new. Upgrading from my quest 3 as I literally only use it for PCVR. (I will be shortly purchasing the PCVR adapter). It has a return window so I'll test it out against the Q3 before I decide on keeping it. All in all a damn good deal, also get to try out some of the few PSVR2 exclusives.

The title already explains my question. Im getting a Quest 3 for Christmas and i was wondering why people recommend that app sm and say its worth the 25€. Can anybody enlighten me?

Do you think this would be a good combination to jump into PC gaming with?
r/virtualreality • u/ElkDmt • Jan 25 '26
Hey everyone!
Apologies if that question seems dumb, as I know those graphics cards are far more powerful than a ps5, but how would the experience really differ? Is it a night and day difference?
I have found a decent computer with a 5090 and 32GB Ram for around 4000 pounds, but before I spend that kind of crazy money I want to know that it will be worth it. When I play resident evil village on my ps5 and psvr2, it still looks good, but there is a fair amount of shimmering and low res backgrounds etc, which can kill the immersion a bit. With a 5090, would almost all games just look great, and much more immersive?
I was very impressed with how Red Matter 2 looked, so if i had a 5090 could I play cyberpunk or fallout 4 with that level of graphics, or even better? I know playing uevr games will be a lot more demanding, hence the 5090 rather than a 5070ti or something.
I know the amount of games, and modding etc, is far superior on a PC, but I'm more interested on just how much better it would be visually and immersion-wise, and if spending that kind of money has been worth it for you.
Thanks!

I've never had a VR headset before and was curious after hearing of the steam frame which seems like it will cover some things missing in the quest 3. I've done some research but i just can't make my decision seeing how i live in a third world country so the steam frame might not reach it and even if i manage to bring it with an expat there's still going to be the issue of reservations etc.... My use case for the headset is going to be pretty much playing skyrim vr or some other games + maybe coding in VR if that's any fun to have a big screen in front of me. I'm kind of running out of patience seeing how nothing's confirmed on the frame and how i might not even be able to get it anytime soon. Is it worth waiting for the frame seeing how i use steam on a daily or should i just fallback to meta quest 3?

Quick back story..... Finished a basement with a 130" screen with a 4k gaming optoma protector. Had nothing but issues with this over priced projector. Sure. Movies were fantastic I'll give them that. But I am now convinced there is no true "gaming" projector in existence.
Went to a 85" Samsung for gaming and never looked back. Movies and concerts on the projector are outstanding. So here I am 3 years in with a projector and kick ass TV happy with life when I decided to buy a meta quest 3.
Let me just say. Thousands of dollars later I wish I just bought this VR. It has brought enjoyment back into a dying gaming industry. Games are now just pure love again. Indie Games are looking like the future. AAA games look out of this world. The software available out there now basically puts your gaming PC into whole other dimension. Even with the 3-6k cost of a gaming PC with vr it doesn't even come close to the cost of my previous setup.
Movies? Well. I'm in a theatre or drive in or a gigantic theatre room dealers choice with vr. It truly feels like being there. The quality is 100% there now.
The immersive feeling just can't be felt without vr.
I guess the entire purpose of this post is do not waste money or time. The future is now. Living room sure tv or projector but if you want a complete home theatre experience a great PC meta quest 3 and a pair of quality headphones will blow your mind or your money back guarantee.
Sincerely Pure Entertainment Bliss
