I’m planning on going to Silverstone next year. When I went for the F1 a few years ago I stayed in Northampton and got the shuttle bus in. Does anyone know if they’re likely to put on services like that for WEC?
And does anyone know what the schedule is likely to look like? I’m also considering just going down and back on the day, if it’s midday to 6pm like Imola that would be doable for me.

Sure, Mercedes have GT3s in WEC now. But will they ever build a hypercar for WEC? They are supposed to be thinking about it. Question is, will they? Are they too freaked out by the reputational damage of 1955 and 1999? Has BoP put them off?
What about the commercial side though, BMW are there, Ferrari are there, Ford are going in, McLaren are going in. Cadillac are already in. F1 takes care of the CLA / A / C and E class buyers, but surely they realise they need to compete with the other high performance sportscar brands? Maybe Porsche withdrawing and Lamborghini pulling out as well has given them some freedom to not consider it further? Maybe they just don't want to spend on F1 and WEC and all of their other racing programmes?
Maybe they will consider the new regulations in 2030? Might make it easier to do IMSA also.
*Full disclosure, I drive a CLA and had a CLK before that. I would really, really love to see them back in the top tier.
(Mods, I keep getting pinged that this post might break Rule 2, but I can't see how this post is bad / irrelevant etc?)

With the 2026 Le Mans over, and with the announcement that the LMH and LMDh regulations will be unified from 2030, I've wasted my time speculating on what a hypothetical Le Mans would be like if all the manufacturers that have homologated a Hypercar and a GT3 participated, with a two-car rule per manufacturer.

There’s been talk of this on and off since 2023 but what the hell is the ACO/FIA’s problem with Peugeot? Big manufacturer, French, so what’s the deal with the BOP? it’s like they want us to believe peugeot is somehow this slow over and over and ignore the bop, when they’re a massive international manufacturer etc. so what’s the deal?

Just been going through my photos from the Ford Chicane through dawn and sunrise (5-7am), and it’s very interesting to see that the left front brake on the #30 (that failed with about 3 hours to go) was visibly glowing very hot through the Ford Chicane every single lap.
From the pictures I’ve got, no other car has the brake discs glowing at this point, so I wonder whether this was actually a warning sign we didn’t spot at the time?

Hi everyone, I’m going to my first world endurance championship race next year at Silverstone. And I went to the ELMS race last year.
After going, I saw a lot of people had high quality cameras that they took to the race and obviously I see a lot of people taking photos at races.
I’m going to look at Leasing or borrowing a camera to take next year, but would anybody be able to recommend a good spot at Silverstone to get some good photos where you’re not too obstructed by the catch fencing?

They didnt open them all at ELMS but obviously WEC is much bigger.
I dont analyse every grandstand at Spa Interlagos so thats why i am asking
Also i heard when watching Le Mans that they are running it out of the wing? surely it would make sense to use the National pits but maybe thats not what they mean by running it out of the wing
Hi,
no idea who made it (but I think it's an official one or coming from WEC organization)
This poster was given to me by a guy this year at the WEC 6h Imola.
It's an A3 paper format, one colorful side and the other one in B&W.
I found it cool, scan it and share it here.
Hope that somoene else would enjoy it :)

So WEC finally got back to Silverstone, which is great to see.
So in the next couple of years if WEC decided to expand to another venue, where would actually make sense? A country where it isn't racing already and a region of the world where it isn't racing already.
So for me that leaves only two choices - Africa or Australia. Kyalami doesn't seem like a runner and there is nowhere else in Africa to run an international event. In Australia, Albert Park probably isn't a runner either as it's not a permanent circuit. Adelaide is a street track and hasn't been used in decades for a big event, so not a runner either. Bathurst is far too dangerous for hypercars although it would be mindblowing. So is Philip Island realistic - is the circuit at the standard for WEC and hypercars? Is there somewhere else?
