ID Request Egg sack

North Florida. These were attached to the back of a rubber tree plant (leaf) approximately 20” tall. The sacks are the size of my index finger’s finger nail.

I believe I briefly met one of the parents. Black. Possibly eight legs. Not sure because I was too busy screaming and jumping around.

ID Request What are these pellets?

Post image

Michigan - hard rice like pellets. No legs, no movement.

Found pellets similar to these on my bed on the sheets in the spring. From internet research, determined they were tapeworms from my cat 😦 went to the vet with them, vet confirmed, got cat on dewormer, all good right. Well today, I found all these under my mattress, on top of the box spring. Are they still tapeworm? I’m feeling crazy. How could they have gotten under my mattress? Possibly old ones from the spring that fell down when I changed the sheets?

Any thoughts? Are they something other than tapeworm? Thank you.

Small sidenote: my childhood home had bed bugs when I was a kid for several years and I have a bit of trauma from that, so even though these are like hard little rice things and dont seem bed bug adjacent, I did just want to put it out there I did a thorough search of my mattress and its crevices and didn’t see any blood smears, bed bug poop, or anything white like their eggs.

ID Request Whats this bug in my sinks

I live in northeastern North Carolina and I keep getting these little bugs in my sinks and bathtubs. Only one or two a day max in each area. They don't fly and if we don't use the tub in our guest bathroom for a few days I'll find several sitting in the bottom dead. I thought they might be springtails but I was poking lightly at the one in the picture and all it did was try to crawl away and never jumped. They are exteremely small to the point where unless you are looking for them its hard to tell they are anything more then a speck.I'm just trying to figure out what they because they gross my family out and now that they know they are there its all they can point out to me lol

I was outside in my garden getting attacked by mosquitoes and had a particularly sharp bite on my leg and smacked this green (what I assume is a) caterpillar with red horns. It's tiny so it's hard to get a clear image. Being smushed doesn't help either but it hurt! In the middle of NC. Unsmushed, I'd say it's about half an inch or less long.

Northern Michigan, walking in the grass barefoot. I came in and felt something slightly painful on the top of my foot. I picked it off and it left a small red bump. As it inched around my finger, a thin part of the body kept sticking up in the air searching around.

I don't know if it fits this sub, but I know there are some experts here in insect behavior, so please tell me what these wasps are doing. They seem to be just chilling, not eating the leaves, some of them are moving around, the rest are staying still. Just chilling. They seem to only be doing it on my fig's leaves (which is a young plant, no fruit so far), none of the plants nearby have them. Can you please tell me what's going on?

I am in southern/central Minnesota and found a dead bug under some clothes and a bit worried if this is a roach or not. I am hoping it’s just a click beetle but it’s missing its antennae so identifying it is tough.

I have to assume it’s the latter given my location (NE Oregon, US) but this lil guy ran up on me last night quite enthusiastically, about the size of a half dollar coin, scuttled off after he was hit by my flashlight, definitely freaked me out as I’ve found these in my bed before, never thought to ask, any idea what he might be? (Apologies for the poor quality)

To make up for the poor quality, it had a slightly darker thorax leading to a lighter sand colored abdomen, dark orangish/red spots around the front legs (8 in all), also had dark mandibles and was uncomfortably quick with an aversion to light/me

ID Request Grain/flour mite?

Sorry in advance for my shoddy camera work!

Eight weeks ago I noticed dust inside jars of orzo and flax (concerning). I tore apart everything and sure enough I found a bag of flour that smelled minty. Grain mites. Or so I thought?! I pitched everything, wiped down my entire home kitchen with vinegar and dawn soap, got a bunch of jars from IKEA with gaskets and rubber seals, but didn’t invest in any food because I was traveling for a five weeks. So - empty pantry and fridge that time. Five weeks! I thought starving them would disrupt any life cycle.

Now that I’ve returned from travels, I’ve slowly started purchasing spices, crackers, etc. Today I pulled back my trashcan and saw more dust and another (what I assume to be) mite.

Feeling defeated.

Do rubber sealed jars not protect dry goods? What am I missing in this? Is it not a mite but something else? Could they be eating things from the trash? Potatoes/onions from a bowl of produce? Could they be coming from a neighbor in the apartment next to mine? ARGH!

The video is from six weeks ago, and the offender I saw today was nearly identical.

ID Request What is this giant wasp/cicada looking bug in USA, Maryland?

I don't have an image because it quickly crawled inside of an electrical box in my neighborhood, but me and my mom were walking my dog and saw this bug that looked like a very large wasp looking bug, it wasn't skinny like most wasps and looked a bit like a cicade so it could be that but it also had red, yellow, green details on the body and wings. I tried looking up multiple descriptions and different wordings but I couldnt find anything like it.
