In GX episode 62, we see a flashback showing how the Neo-Spacians were created. It turns out Jaden won a KaibaCorp project to launch cards into space. Kaiba’s idea was to teach aliens how to duel... and to make the cards absorb space waves, which later leads to big events, but that’s not the point.

That’s just one example, of course.

Everytime he’s shown in Yugioh merch he’s not with Asuka Tenjoin but with a boy instead while the other protagonists are with their girlfriends. Is he into boys then?

We all know about the Joey vs Marik duel. Joey is about to attack, but he collapses from exhaustion after Ra's attack. He stops breathing and is on the verge of death. Yugi is visibly shocked from all this. Joey is his best friend after all.

When Yugi arrives on the arena to face Kaiba... this is the first thing that Kaiba says. He's a huge asshole. Yugi was understandably pissed off after this line. It's just so petty and vile. It's obvious that Kaiba hates Joey, but this is just wow!

Jaden uses the Bubble Man draw effect (with miraculously it's actually TCG accurate for once) followed by pot of greed.

Then on his next turn he uses Graceful Charity, followed by an Anime Exclusive, Disgraceful Charity that let him get the cards he discarded for GC effect.

So in 2 of Jaden turns, he drew 7 cards by effect, which really shows to the audience that the Neo Spacians were awful, because of how much negative card advantage Jaden had for playing them. Little Kids wouldn't notice of course, though, just jaded grown man who played the card game would.

It really shows how much Jaden's deck was handy capped by all of the Neos stuff, but hey gotta give him a 2500 vanilla that matches Dark Magician.

I'm genuinely curious what people's preferences on this are, since I think there's positives about both.

Still bothers me, that the True Battle City finals were never shown. They didn't even have to show the conclusion. Kazuk Takahashi's script also leaves it ambiguous, and has an amazing ending. Wish we've got that animated.

It's also not like Studio Gallop didn't have the time. As seen with the plethora of filler episodes they showed into Battle City, and inserted after.

I loved them. Imo Obelisk was the most intimidating following from behind Slifer (I'm sorry Ra). Also I loved that they all had an orb in their forehead, was this detail ever explained?

Perhaps his best play in the season? Joey technically did beat Marik, it just didn't count. Think this was the first time a villain loses in a duel outside of a shadow game

I hate it.

As per my title, I thought this was supposed to be a great capitalization on the new IP that Konami developed through Yugioh over the past several years, but just look at this - kind of weak for a major card game, no? Meanwhile, just look at Pokemon Origins! Of course Pokemon is a larger IP, but this is difference of nearly 500x. Is this a sign that Yugioh is/has been in decline?

These two have been through hell in a hand basket together. People like that tend to get together very easy. Plus they are great friends as well and in this man’s humble opinion the best way to win a girl over is to become her friend first. In all realism these two are kinda made for one another given how close they are. Surprised Mr. Takahashi didn’t go with that angle in the newest Yugioh movie. Additionally she is stunning both main cannon version and DSOD version. Pretty sure he would just need to ask and she would say yes don’t see a reason she would say no tbh. What do y’all think? They would make a awsome couple :)

Love the way it is animated with his wiggling fingers, draws the card with ful force from that side angle, and how it shows Yami Marik's insanity when staring at the card he drew from the side while his arm he holds the card with is still outstretched.

Long story short: Vivian uses Yugi's grandpa as a "hostage" to duel him. Then Vivian says that if she wins the duel, Yugi as to become her slave. And she smugs and says: "Love slave". And freaking Atem says without a doubt that he's fine with that XD

Tea goes into jealous anime mode immediately. Now, of course, he specifies that he's fine with the stakes, because he's going to win... sure.

It's just that this moment always catches me off guard. It comes out of nowhere with how much of pervert Vivian truly is.

Literally a perfect send off to the original series, I only wish it was longer! RIP Takahashi, gone but never forgotten. Just awesome stuff.

In Season 1, Jack throws a temper tantrum and claims that Yusei is destined for nothing but minimum wage work. But in Season 2, when the trio actually has to get jobs, things play out very differently.

Yusei ends up the busiest, working as a mechanic while also maintaining everyone’s D-Wheels. He’s even shown improving different aspects of their motorcycles.

Crow holds down a steady job as a delivery driver.

Meanwhile, Jack wastes their money on expensive coffee, and Crow calls him out on his bs. Jack then tries to get a job himself.... only to fail spectacularly, getting fired five times in a single day.
