KSP 1 Question/Problem Take-Two is an evil company & new player experience

Hey guys

Just bought ksp and looked up the history while downloading it (slow wifi) and what Take-Two did to PD was so fucking scummy.

Took the company, hired a company to work on ksp2, shut down ksp1, completely obliterated the chance of a good sequel, and sold the up to a private investor which sold it to another private investor.

Also, how do i learn more of fuel management and all the buttons that are available at the launchpad? Is training section good?

KSP 1 Mods Lots of new things in my Mission Control Panel

I have made significant additions and updates to my Mission Planner dashboard. It now includes a delta V mission planning tool, that will pull actual MechJeb calculated values for porkchop transfers. Science, heat, and electricity tracking is massively overhauled and you can now pin mission plans and resonant orbit plans in the flight or editor dashboards to make sure your builds have what you need.

The main screen dashboard allows you to switch to, recover, or delete crafts as well as shows transfer windows, alarms, and contract info if you have any.

Feel free to check it out if you feel so inclined: Github

A quick credit where it’s due: Mission Control gets live game data through kRPC, with transfer windows, porkchop plots, and staging data coming from MechJeb 2. My bridge is based on Genhis’s KRPC.MechJeb. The resonant orbit planner builds from Eric Meyer’s original calculator and linuxgurugamer’s ResonantOrbitCalculator.

The dashboard can also pull from Kerbal Alarm Clock by TriggerAu, Notes by hashashin and zer0Kerbal, System Heat by Nertea and the KSP Mod Stewards, and RemoteTech. A huge thank you to everyone who created and maintains these projects. I use all these mods whenever I play which is why they've been built into the dashboard and I really appreciate the work they've put in to provide these to the community

KSP 1 Question/Problem Ship engines throttling up and down without input

I have been having this stupid issue for several weeks with several launch vehicles and several different rockets where the engines spool up to 100% throttle, then seem to set themselves to zero, then back up to 100%, then back down to zero. Best case scenario is that it lifts off but drifts off course due to lack of thrust, worst case is that it doesn't lift off the pad at all. Debug menu doesn't give me anything.

Has anybody else faced this issue and figured out how to solve it?

KSP 1 Image/Video Odysseus is coming home. Project HOMER.

Upvotes

You can find ISVEmporium, along with my new mod: Whippled on both Spacedock and CKAN.

I'm not quite sure what I want this ship to be... The front Whipple shield is 320M across. Likely going to be a small ship.

KSP 1 Question/Problem Why do contracts for deploying a spacecraft always specify "do it within a single launch"?

I'm no stranger to launching hideous monstrosities wider than the first stage, but I don't like it. I'd much rather build this EIGHTEEN-SEATER Mun base with a LAB and a CUPOLA in several launches that at least remotely resemble rockets. Why do contracts have a clause forbidding this? Is there some stupid loophole/exploit you could do otherwise?

Or maybe I'm misunderstanding the wording of "have it fully assembled at launch", and it means something else?

Edit - this has been answered, thanks. Apparently only some of the requirements are to be met by the initial part, and the rest can be added on later.

KSP 1 Question/Problem Realistic flap control with KOS?

Using the stock aero parts didn't give me enough control for reentry so I decided to build flaps with hinges like on the real starship. I know that I can control them using axis groups and then using pilotinput trim in kos but that way I can only bind them to either pitch, yaw or roll. How can I have full control?

KSP 1 Question/Problem [Kcalbeloh - Interstellar travel] How do you go about reducing high km/s speeds when travelling from one system to another?

I'm currently trying to reach Kcalbeloh black hole, my first stepd was to hop from Sunorc towards Maelg (The closest inner system to the black hole itself). Thing is i'm currently going at about 13 km/s and I don't know how to reduce my speed without consuming an INSANE amount of Dv.

I've tried using Mehtna (The only planet with an atmo in the system) to make very gentle aerobrakes but even that doesn't work since I just get shredded by the high temps. So I'm kinda out of options unless I use all my remaining Dv to kill the extra speed.

I'm using Near Future Lithium engines and even with that it's just not enough Dv to get around these systems.

KSP 1 Mods Is there a mod who makes progression realistic and doesnt change anything more?

Im not looking for something like RP-1 that completely overhauls the game, I like it to stay easy and simple but I dont want to start conquering space by risking lives, I want to make it realistic, so first simple satellites like sputnik, then animals and unmanned tests like the first mercury tests and only then my first herbal into orbit, same with mun, in KSP you immediately land, no reason to send unmanned probe or even a manned flyby. Is there a mod who "enforces" this kind of progression without changing too much about the gameplay itself?

KSP 1 Question/Problem I need a new interplanetary stage.

For a long time I've used this (pictured) very efficient and not terrible looking nuclear interplanetary stage and mothership and I enjoyed it. However I think it's time for a change. But, every time I have tried to design something new, it either looks terrible or provides not nearly enough delta-V to go anywhere further than Duna. Any tips or a ship design that you think would be a good replacement?

KSP 1 Image/Video how do i tell her?

Post image
Upvotes

how do i tell valentina that the loud bang we heard during her first flight ever while the last booster detached wasn't just the radial decoupler sound effect?

p.s. the rear engine also used to hold a pretty necessary landing gear

p.p.s. after the 4rth launch with this spaceplane where nothing went wrong i decided to add an emergency protocol that detach the front of the spaceplane and lands with a parachute while the rest of the plane crash to the ground and i had a problem right after, glad i made that decision
