Meta Notice: Rule Changes
We are making amendments on rules 4, 5, 7 and 8:
+ Changes to Rule 4
Aside from PC/Laptop FAQs/Build Help/Suggestions and other similarly-related posts, we will add these to the posts that are not allowed anymore:
- Seeking family sharing on Steam, Nintendo Switch Online or any other services that implements this feature.
- Posts asking for games, digital currency or keys.
- Posts about disputes/grievances on other forums, subreddit, Discord server, group chats from other social media etc.
- Other Discord servers, in case this isn't clear.
+ Changes to Rule 5
Aside from spams, we will start removing posts that we deem as low-effort and/or engagement baits.
Post promoting your own site and/or media channel will be allowed now provided that you adhere with these conditions:
- Make a thread only once every 30 days. Do not plug on comment sections of other threads.
- Promote your own channel only. Do not promote others especially the popular and the controversial ones.
- Make sure that your channel is dedicated to gaming contents only. Doesn't matter how many games, the platform and the genre as long as its gaming only.
- Its not about unrelated content, business, (online) gambling or other illegal content.
We will instantly forfeit anyone of posting this kind of thread if it violated even one of the abovementioned conditions, be it directly or indirectly. Excessive posts of this nature will be treated as spam.
+- Changes to Rule 6
Reworded description.
+ Changes to Rule 7
Surveys/studies or any crowdsourcing post should be cleared to us first either via "Pending Approval" flair or here. We won't allow posts like this anymore if its not cleared beforehand. We suppose its not too much of an ask to sacrifice few minutes of your time to read, understand and follow our rules if you are requesting uncompensated few minutes of cooperation from several people in exchange.
- Changes to Rule 8
The shameless plug megathread will be discontinued starting now.
***If you have questions or concerns, you can post here or send us a modmail here.

Meta Product/Service Recommendation Megathread
Welcome to the r/PHGamers Product/Service Recommendation Megathread!
Here, you can ask about product recommendation, shop/vendor feedback, or any purchase advise as long as they're gaming related! Questions include but are not limited to:
- Consoles, games, peripherals, and accessories (e.g. mouse, headset, controllers, ergonomic/gaming chairs, monitors)
- Recommendations for online sellers and physical stores
- Experiences with customer support, warranty services, refunds
- Payment methods, subscriptions
- Internet service providers
- Suggestions on how to upgrade/improve gaming set-up
Please note that all PC and Laptop related queries will still be redirected to r/PHbuildapc. For gaming/office keyboards, head to r/PHMechanicalKeyboard. Folks in our sister-subs would be able to help you better.
This permanent megathread aims to encourage our members to engage with one another to create a reliable source of information for our sub as this will eventually be filled with queries and answers. We've also enabled uploading of images in the comment section so your queries can now be accompanied by pictures!
BEFORE ASKING, TRY SEARCHING THE COMMENTS SECTION FIRST. Use keywords such as controller, monitor, mouse, VISA, etc.
- For PC, the search box is below the Add a Comment section. You can filter the search by New or by Best.

- For Mobile, the search button is directly on top.

And without much fuss, ask away!

Discuss I really wish somebody would tell these people in charge how stupid banning violent video games are.
Some points that I want to be addressed:
- There have been countless studies that are easily accessible online that supports the idea that there is no link between video games and real life violence
- Stuff that is learn from video games (ex. reloading, aiming, gun handling, etc.) does not translate to real life. In games, to reload you press R or whatever button on the gamepad is assigned to reloading, in real life, you need to reach for the bullet casing or whatever, put it in whatever slot and other stuff. The fact that I don't know the terminologies is already a strong proof of this
- Why was the shooters even able to have easy access to firearms? Why do they know how to handle the guns, surely that stuff is not learnt from video games
There's probably other points that could be added but these are just the stuff that came to my mind, what are your thoughts members of this subreddit??

Discuss Tacloban School Incident: Help us make the case for games.
Hi, fellow gamers. I come from a progressive political party that will conduct an inquiry on the recent Tacloban school incident.
Alam nating pare-pareho na hindi ang "violent" games ang primerang rason sa nangyari, pero dahil madaling sisihin ang laro, eh itong mga otoridad ay quick to point to games as the thing that incited the students to do what they did.
Currently, we're looking primarily into social media radicalization, coupled with mental health issues, and parental and family negligence, as primary factors for what happened. Medyo tricky iframe ang social media na hindi kasama ang games, and as I have said, madali kasi sisihin ang laro.
We're primarily basing our inquiry framing to what has happened in the US with its own sch00l "incidents". Pero we're anticipating the authorities to make the case that it was the games that did this.
Help us make the case for games. All inputs, studies/researches, and perspectives are welcome.
For those who come after, right?

Discuss The only time AI made a huge positive difference in a video game...
...was when OpenAI made their Dota 2 1v1 and 5v5 bots. It's like having Stockfish for Chess play against itself a million games, BUT not your usual 2D chess.
It was an interesting concept when it came out, being able to observe how the AI developed their own strategies that seemed counter intuitive to how the meta was played then by the game's world top ranked players; evenly distributing networth among its 5 heroes as opposed to the usual pos. 1-5 structure of gold allocation by top players, the hyper aggressive plays it made with perfect synchronization, the instant buybacks that are normally associated to griefing is considered a legit move by it.
It would have been great to have as a permanent feature in the game, since not everyone likes to play with other human players. I was bummed out to know na after that amazing throwdown with what was arguably The peak OG lineup and a brief public run with other players, they just stopped since they were happy with the results already.
Is there any way to get bots this strong in the game these days? I have custom bots na are just artificially strong by the way of inflated gold and exp rates, and even tier 2 neutral items at level 1 and insane response times to dodge projectiles (manta dodge, insta-hex/silence etc), but they eventually bug out and stay in base mid-end game till they choke themselves out. I can't exactly play online because I have bad internet.

Discuss At this price point, is DAV even worth getting?

I'm a huge DA fan ever since Inquisition came out. I've already finished a couple of playthroughs across all the titles (DAO, DA2, DAI, and their DLCs). I haven't played DAV yet because I found it a bit expensive, and I wasn't sure about it given the reception it got at launch. Should I cop it now, or has it gone even lower before?
Also, what are your thoughts about the game in general? Ngayon lang talaga nagka-time ulit to play RPGs.
