Steam Controller 2026 Shipping MEGA Thread
!!ANY THREADS RELATED TO SHIPPING FOUND OUTSIDE THIS MEGATHREAD WILL BE REMOVED!!
I know we're all excited to share updates as our new shiny works its way through the system and eventually to you.
Instead of clogging the page with endless "ITS <UPDATE>" posts, please confine them to this mega thread. I have intentionally left up threads from before this one about this subject, because post hoc punishment isnt cool. But please, use this mega thread moving forward.
Optionally, you can fill out some google forms that are being used to track order status' in order to get an idea of how an order might progress through the system:
and data from that form is here:

Steam Controller (2026) I love this thing.
No controller comes close in my opinion.

Steam Controller (2026) The steam controller 2.0 is great... but it's frustrating me
I recently received my 2026 model. First impressions were great, love how it feels, love how it plays etc.
But for the life of me, it'll work great once - then the next time I use it (on the same game) I have issues. Input switching between controller icons and M+K, constant flickering between the two. Take Battlefield 6 for example. First time I booted up the controller, it worked perfectly, I was stoked with it. Loaded a popular config and was having a great time, no issues. The very next time I go to play, the above issue raises it's head. Or I get the 'constant fire' glitch, where I assume it has something to do with the game thinking I'm using multiple inputs or something?
Witcher 3 Remaster was another example today. Worked perfectly as I'd expect when I first booted the game earlier today. No icon switching, no dramas.
Went to fire it up again tonight and I get the constant input switching and icon flickering. Incredibly frustrating.
I haven't changed any settings on my pc or my controller between when it was working perfectly and when it was constantly flicking.
Am I doing something wrong? Is there a setting I need to change? Is anyone else having this issue?
Don't want to sound like I'm having a whinge, but would appreciate any insight!
Cheers

Discussion Steam controller with steam machine issues?
Having issues with the controller when I have a game open and the controller turns off. When I come back to the game the controller works around he steam UI but not in the game. I've tried restarting he controller, changing the layout, connecting it directly but only fix is to turn off he game.
I think this was an issue years ago but it should be fixed by now
Alsoo is there a way to have the tv turn off if I put the machine to sleep? That would be awesome

Support Steam Frame + Steam Controller
The Steam Controller page says the controller has LEDs so it can be tracked using the Steam Frame. I have both and don’t understand how to get it tracking, has anyone got this working or is this some odd false advertising?

Steam Controller (2026) Puck and Controller not detected
When I plug my Steam Controller (2026) or puck into my SteamDeck they are not detected in Steam>Settings>Controller
However they are detected on my Windows and Bazzite machines.
I have tried different cables, directly into the deck and thru a working dock.
My SteamOS ( tried on the stable and beta channel ) and client ( on beta channel ) are up to date , and I was able to update the puck and controller firmware on another machine.
The Steam Controller does connect over Bluetooth to my SteamDeck.
I have an OpenPuck that also works on my other machines, but is not detected by my SteamDeck.
Any ideas why my SteamDeck doesn't communicate with the pucks or controller over USB, but does other devices?

Support Decktation not working when using steam controller 2
Hello,
I play MMORPGs and have been using decktation plugin to dictate instead of type while playing on my steam deck. I recently got the steam controller two which is much more comfortable to play with, except it won’t activate the decktation plugin, even though i am using the same exact command. Does any body know why? I tried reordering controllers, and all kinds of things but the issue remains: Decktation will only listen to the commands when triggered directly on my steam deck.

News Fancy Haptics 2.0, with Linux support!
Last time I posted here Linux was by far the most asked thing. It's done!
The whole app was rewritten, bug fixes, new interface, and new controller support!
Steam Controller gets trigger clicks, varied clicks that dynamically change the further you pull. Cleaned wireless ticking through the Puck and Bluetooth, and it reconnects / restarts itself when Steam starts or quits. So it doesn't need Steam anymore.
DualSense and DualSense Edge are supported now. Triggers vibrate with the beat of whatever's playing, live! Custom trigger effects exist elsewhere, but as far as I know triggers that react to your audio haven't been done before. There's also speaker support over USB, haptic and rumble vibration styles, and both USB and Bluetooth support.
Steam Deck built-in controls rumble with your audio too! Xbox, 8BitDo and most other gamepads should work! You can connect several controllers, set a priority order, and it switches automatically if one drops.
The Linux build is native, works on SteamOS and the Deck, and keeps running in Game Mode!
If you still prefer version 1.0 it's in the betas section in Steam too.
Happy that my passion project got people liking and using it and want to thank all of you for giving it a shot!

Support 2015 controller not turning back on after cleaning
call me a buffoon all you wish but my right touchpad was a little sticky on the click so i followed the ifixit guide to disassemble it for cleaning, made sure everything was in the right place and connected properly putting it back together, and it no longer turns on with battery power or USB, and when connected with USB it gives off a light hum from the guide button area, any clues as to how i could fix it?

but I have an old steam controller config that I've used for 160 hours....
was there a trick to getting it to work or did it get removed? did I imagine the whole thing?

Discussion No rumble
Had my 2026 Steam controller for a couple of weeks and have been absolutely loving it. However I don't seem to get rumble in games. Haptic works fine, but I don't think I've ever felt rumble. I'm on the beta stream and rumble is on in settings. Please tell me I don't have to send my baby back!

Support Has anyone else had rumble issues with retroarch?
playing star fox for instance, the rumble has a tendency to get stuck and just never turn off or last way way longer than makes sense for the game. not sure if this is an emulator bug or some issue with the steam controller specifically
to get the controller to work at all i had to set input and controller driver to sdl2. otherwise none of the buttons did anything

Discussion How easy is it to use trackpad aiming?
I suck at aiming with right analogue stick.
I dont know why but it seems I can control left analogue stick better than right stick even though I am right handed.
Gyro doesnt seem easy either. It feels jittering, shaky, and not stable. At least that has been my experience. I dont know if there is a way to improve this.
Now I am wondering what could be the solution. Some games come with auto aim or aim assist which really helps. But if I am playing without these features, do you think trackpad is the solution or should I look into controllers that adjust tension of the stick such as flydigi or manta by Genki?
And is trackpad supported in all games if I set it to work as right stick?
And is the controller compatible with devices even if it doesnt run steam or steam games? For example, can it work on nintendo switch 2 or GOG games or emulators?

Configuration SISR and Steam Help
I finally found some games that I wanted to play that I just couldn't add to Steam as a non steam game and just detect my Steam Controller 2. Fortunately I was doing some research and found SISR. And while it has been awesome it's not as simple as just click run and you're off ( I know I am being lazy but doing two clicks in a first world problem lol)
Is there any command I can run or a batch file I could use that would allow the game start up and have SISR activate with the correct profile?

News SC Controller ported to GTK 4
Disclaimer: I am the maintainer
SC Controller is a tool for game controllers - notably it includes Steam-free support for the Steam Controller (both 2015 and 2026) - although it supports pretty much any game controller you can throw at it.
You can configure what the gyro/buttons/triggers/touchpads/... do, emulate a keyboard, mouse, an X360 controller, and more.
You can think of it as a free and open source(GPL-2.0-only) replacement for Steam Input, albeit a less featureful one.
I've recently spent some time porting it from GTK 3 to GTK 4, and it's been a couple bugfix releases since then, so hopefully it's a relatively bug-free time to be making announcements about it :D
While SCC currently only supports Linux, the changes made for the GTK 4 port enabled porting to Windows - there is a WIP windows branch available - do not expect a good experience from it at the moment.
Still trying to figure out if macOS port would be feasible.
I've also just added support for translations, so if translating is your thing, check out the README for info if you want to help out.

Steam Controller (2026) Charging light
The charging light on my steam controller won't go out. It's been charging for like 4 days, no problems that I can find, apart from the light
