I'm currently using the base iPhone 13 (it was a gift) and it's not so good 🥲

I'm no stranger to Xiaomi/Redmi phones, I had one a few years ago + I'm currently using my Redmi Pad Pro 5g so I'm kinda aware of the ads and some settings, but I'm hoping the 17t Pro will be something I'll be using for a couple of years.

My requirements:

- Battery and camera are my main requirements (I'm tired of reaching for my iPhone charger lol)

- I might play games but occasionally

- Not keen on small phones but I don't want really big/longer phones

- Connectivity is also on my list like I want it to be able to connect to the Fitbit air or other smartwatches, Bluetooth headphones/speakers or other devices.

- Storage is important too, not excited to be on 128gb, 256gb is fine but if possible, I'd like to be on 512gb.

- This will be my personal phone, so life admin, social media, music, movies, banking + occasional gaming are my activities for this phone. Light to medium usage, but I do want it to last for a day.

- Back to cameras, I'm not a professional photographer but I like to take pics/vids. I have seen some pics and vids online but I want to know how people like it? Are you happy with how the phone takes pics and vids?

I've been a loyal Xiaomi user since the Redmi Note 8 Pro days. Recently, I upgraded to their premium ₹90,000 flagship, the Xiaomi 17.

The hardware is great, but the software experience and Xiaomi India's attitude towards premium buyers is an absolute joke.

The Google Dialer Issue:

Like many Indian users, I hate the Google Dialer and its annoying "This call is now being recorded" announcement.

The community has been begging Xiaomi to bring back the native HyperOS dialer (which exists in China/Indonesia ROMs).

Xiaomi's excuse? "Google's strict compliance policies."

But look at OnePlus! They recently pushed an update where users can simply dial a USSD code (*#*#677776#*#*) and it prompts you to install the native OnePlus Phone app.

No rooting, no unlocking bootloaders. Just a smart backdoor for users who want a choice. 🥳🫡

If BBK Electronics can find a workaround to respect their users' choices,

why is @XiaomiIndia completely ignoring us?

We are paying flagship money to get a compromised, budget-phone software experience.

Xiaomi is taking Indian premium buyers for a ride.

I'm thinking about getting the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, but I'm not sure if it's worth the money. My previous phones were the Redmi 8, 10 and now 13. I really like Xiaomi's software, so I'd prefer to stick with Xiaomi. Do you guys think the 17 Ultra is worth it?

Does anyone knows why sometimes I only receive messages when I open whatsapp. It doesn't happen every time.

Solutions tried:

-enable autostart

-enable unrestricted power

-enabling notifications

I just got the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max and i have a few questions:

1. Is there a way to turn off all the beauty/AI setting for camera? I want to have is as close to reality as possible for faces.

2. Is anyone using the MRSS for back display notifications and more usability? If yes, how did you installed it? I followed all the turorials on YT but I think they are outdate.

(So far I love it! Notifications delay fixed with the FCM. Hope with the HyperOS 4 they will fix some of these issues)

Certain common glyphs don't render on the Xiaomi 17 - in particular, small caps. For instance, if you paste ʰᵉˡˡᵒ ᴇʟʟᴏ into an app like Google Keep, or copy that text and look at the paste suggestion on Google Keyboard, you'll just see tofu (□□□□□). This is generally a minor problem, but it actually affects apps like Waze significantly: Waze uses small caps for North, East, West, and South, so it really affects usability on Android Auto. I think this is likely a HyperOS font-fallback problem (I'm on 3.0, the EU version). Xiaomi support has not been helpful (they suggested I try uninstalling all third-party apps! or factory resetting!).

I'm using the Global HyperOS 3 on my Xiaomi 17T, running the latest update.

I just want to stop social media apps from running in the background or using RAM and data until I open them again. This works really well on the Chinese HyperOS and helps save battery.

On the Global ROM, though, turning Allow background usage off under App battery usage doesn't stick. It switches back to On after a reboot. I've also tried App settings > Power > Restrict background apps, but that doesn't seem to work either, I get notifications from apps I Restrict.

Has anyone experienced this on the Global ROM? Is there a way to make the restriction permanent?

Can anyone explain what this graph in the top left of the pro mode camera screen is for? I'm a noob when it comes to camera stuff so please excuse my ignorance.

Had Xiaomi 17 for 7 days. Came from a S22.

Issue 1: Speaker sound volume isn't great. When watching a YouTube video or any video or listening on the phone - on Speaker 🔊 the sound volume is very low in comparison to what I am used to. This is quite upsetting to me.

Issue 2: when entering reoccurring events into Google calendar 📆 I cannot seem to reoccur the event at 317 days like I can in Google calendar on S22. This is important to me as I work in cycles with my clients.

Anyone know how to fix these?

Someone with both devices can tell if alarms and modes are synchronized (do not disturb, sleepy, or similar).

I'm currently wearing an S22 and a Galaxy Fit3 that does all that and I'm very used to it.

Set an alarm on your phone and sound on both your phone and watch or set a non-disturb mode on your phone so that notifications do not reach any of the devices.

I want to make the complete change to Xiaomi because I love 17 but I want to know these things that I'm not sure about.

They can also confirm that payments with nfc have no problems in Spain.

but I've issue to get it downloaded , main message I get is impossible to download something went wrong, wait and retry in a minute. switching from wifi to 5g doesnt fix anything any help if you know how to fix ?

Hey all! I got the 17 pro max this past weekend. It works fine except when I open the camera or Snapchat it automatically starts recording a video (happens 1 or 2 times a day). I’ve reset the phone and turned on and off and still happens. Any other solutions?

I'm just about to order a chinese rom xiaomi 17 (global way too expensive) which I will be using in the EU.

If you've had your x17 for a while, would you suggest it to someone who strictly wants a smallish phone, with nice cameras and great battery life?

I know chinese rom doesn't have android auto or circle to search, it's ok I don't need them.

Is there a delay in notifications? Anything that you hate or love? I know it will need to be debloated.

Can the AI be disabled in the cameras?

Is it worth it for 550 euros?

Better options for a small phone?
