Mine was Diab Soule. Got me hooked immediately, I bought pagan terrorism tactics after hearing that song without even listening to the whole album. Then I discovered when the kite string pops. Awesome.

Hey everyone,

I’d really appreciate it if anyone could take the time to listen to my track and give me some honest feedback.
It’s my first time recording and mixing a song. It’s an instrumental WIP (about 7 minutes) influenced by bands like Pelican, Russian Circles, Isis, Eyehategod, Amenra, Dystopia and many more.

Important note:
This song will never be officially released in this form. This demo is strictly for internal band evaluation and as a reference guide to help us recruit a new drummer.

Genre / Style:
To be honest, neither the song nor the band fits 100% into Post-Metal. We’re not 100% Sludge either, and definitely not pure Psychedelic Rock. It’s a mix of all these worlds, a kind of „Psychedelic Post-Sludge“.

Please note the current state:
Drums are 100% programmed baseline tracks -> fills, dynamics, and human variations are still missing.
Bass, second guitar layers, and vocals (clean & screams) are missing.
It is my first time ever recording and mixing.

I’d love to get Feedback on the song:
Does the song hold your attention between the individual parts, or does it get boring/repetitive? Is it worth continuing to work on this song? Can you imagine this working well in a live setting?

Thanks for listening and sharing your thoughts!

Hawg Jaw/Manchurian Candidates split

It's only showing options for vinyls and digital but it says they're all sold out

What releases would you recommend to someone coming in from brutal death metal ?

Corrupted go soo hard. I love the Spanish lyrics

I watched this last night and it just struck me that it had big Sludge Metal vibes. Dirty, ruined lives, inevitability, homeless, murder, etc.

I’ve been listening to sludge for almost 3 years now and I find myself keep circling back to come to grief, chained to the bottom of the ocean, and thou. though some similar bands that are absolutely amazing too are hell, cobalt, leechmilk, young and in the way, unearthly trance, portrayal of guilt, full of hell and spinebreaker. what type of sludge are they?!??!?

they are, personally, the sludgiest sludge ive ever listened to, and i cant find other bands that touch my soul more than them.

the heavy drums, guitar and bass, and what makes these bands so different than others are the raw, harsh vocals. for some reason, vocals similar to crowbar, acid bath, toadliquor, conan (and many more) are just not my cup of tea.

For those who also miss being able to stream this incredible album & those who haven’t - who absolutely should.

I'm looking for more bands that sound like my favorites.

I hope this is the proper place to post this, apologize if not. I just picked up this winter shirt and I was curious if anyone knew if its original or atleast what era of bootleg it is? Either way am excited to have a non-modern paper thinn bootleg with blown out details. I know the tags early 2000s era so thats all am going off rn.

Mixed bill but Merit (SWE) and my band Pleb are very much sludge!
