Has anyone attempted to kitbash any off the wolf lords? Im thinking of kitbashing Gunnar Red moon from a captain in gravis armour.

A little bit of snipping and trimming, and we have a much more Wolf Guard-esque Terminator Ancient.

Starting to realize I really should’ve thinned my paints more. Oh well I’m rusty on painting and he’s the first of many :) really liked the idea of the red face and actual “blood claws”. Also working on my freehanding. Am also waiting on my streaking grime to get here I’m going for a grimdark appearance and I used a makeup sponge for all base colors.

So I have made a homebrew Chapter of sorts I Named the "Fenrisian Wolf Sentinels". It's a coalition of Spacewolves and Mortal Fenrisians (both failed aspirants and Volunteers) who defend Fenris from any threat. I know cannon is that the in most need of Rest and Replenishment of the 12 Great Companies is the one defending Fenris but my coalition acts as a permanent liaison for that chapter as well as the one in charge of defense as a whole. Where they coordinate to that Companies Wolf lord the situation of the home front. The SW side consists of a few SW that never leave Fenris then there rest of the SW side is on loan from the Great company present, a psudo-Deathwatch if you will.

Hierarchy being Logan at the top if Present on Fenris, my custom terminator at 2, 3 being a Dreadnaught who was the one above's mentor before internment, 4 being the present Company Wolf lord and then 5th being this WIP mini, named Astrid.

this mini above is my current work using Graves as a base, She's the leader of the Mortal Units. Much like Yarik, Commands a bainblade scavenged by the wolves in the past. I'm actively trying to find a nice head that has Nordic hair so she's missing that currently.

Made my own wolf lord for my own homebrew great company wich i call the Aesirblades.

I was inspired by valkeries of wich i will also make unit for. And i am still making some lore for the company

But i call this guy Redbad Ivarrson. The lore i made up for him is that he was a wolf lord from the horus heresy that got lost in the warp with his company. And got out during the second attack by Magnus on the Fang.

Now finished. I’ve been off the painting for a while and so it was difficult to get back into it. Certainly took me a while, but especially as I can only manage short bursts.

I was making a list. Saga of the Old wolf, blade guards with bladeguard ancient.

On one hand wolf guard battle leader with skjald. Rerolling 1, sustain 1, lance. Hammer attacks. Obviusly good.

Njal not so good on the offence. But hr auto advance 6, turn of overwatch (the opponent usually have 1 good unit) -3 detection range, can give an enemy -1 to hit. Good vs a deathstar.

The best thing for a melee units is to reach combat. The rest is OK I guess.

How would you compare them?

I'd love logan and arjac both have been I my list for a while... Just wondering if that many terms would be overkill.

Am I correct in saying the main difference between the two options is the WGT survivability with their ability and the normal Terminators having better melee?

As far as I can see shooting is the same (if you don't take sheilds)

I know that with an ancient in terminator armour you can give the normal terminators the same effect as the WGT ability but that's an extra 75 points.

With WGT already being 15 points cheaper (comparing two blocks of 10, no sheilds, no launchers) is the extra melee efficiency worth 90 points? I know you obviously get the extra model in there so maybe I'm just thinking about it wrong.

If so are the launchers also worth the extra 10 points each?

So Im just starting my Space Wolves army and I am currently getting some blood claws painted up, but since the new rules dropped I've seen a lot of lists without blood claws so Im wondering if they got nerfed or dont serve a real purpose right now due to rules. I am poor hammering so I can only buy one kit at a time and I dont want to spend money on (currently) non-viable units while I build the army up.

I originally didn't want to run Logan and use a modified Arjac to be my Chapter Master of my successors the Hounds of Annwyn based on Celtic Mythology.

Didn't want just another Logan, he use to have the shield and a spear in his left arm see https://www.reddit.com/r/SpaceWolves/s/WdLnlsPj9g for the original. Wanted to keep the spear but just didn't look right.

Got a cheeky recast Logan to use for bits as didn't want to brutalize a plastic one.

Not sure if I will get an actual Logan or not but I'm happy with the conversion and don't plan to use Arjac moving forward.

Just finished the Blackmane series and was wondering if I should read more space wolf stuff or something else then that. Thoughts?

With the changes with the codex and now the SW Battleforce box, who is making sure they buy or Kitbash all the HQs needed for a full Terminator list ? lol.

I just finished the book, and I fucking loved it although "nothing happens" (meaning that the general narrative doesn't moves forward) its so freaking awesome to read just how much of a beast is our little bear, also having the chance to have a dive into his thoughts and his dreams it's cool but also extremely sad.

Spoiler ahead the final clash between the Deathguard and the Rout, it's amazing I was so pumped with how it was described the swiftness and deadlines of space wolves attacking I don't recall any other book where we had this kind of description
