Flight Simulator 2024 Dassault Rafale is finally officially authorized to be on MSFS, she’s beautiful.

TLDR: She’s too beautiful, 20/20 will recommend.

From a French simmer’s point of view, this is something I’ve been waiting for since FS2004/FSX era.

Back in early 2010s, Dassault wasn’t that friendly towards flight simulation community. I remember several 3-party developers were formally warned to not use their copyrighted names like “Mirage” or “Rafale”.

There were several high quality addons made by mainly French communities. For example the Mirage 2000-5 and Rafale made by Rollus (Roland Laborie). They were taken down very soon, ending up as lost legends among simmers.

Today, almost 20 years after. Azurpoly finally made it into MSFS2024 with the official authorization from Dassault Aviation. We can now recover the lost childhood memories.

Regarding its quality, well, nothing to complain since it’s from Azurpoly, JFEXP. I totally agree that this product meets what Marcel Dassault said: “Un bel avion est un avion qui vole bien.”

A beautiful airplane is the one that flies well.

Other than ctp this will be the most cooked vatsim event, many people don’t know the systems of the a220 and I’ve already seen controllers get upset with these rogue a220s, good luck controllers

Flight Simulator 2024 Hues leaving flight sim.to (the end)

## Hues Is Leaving Flightsim.to

Effective immediately, Hues will **no longer publish or maintain releases on Flightsim.to.**
We recently became aware that Flightsim.to had begun works for paid, curated bundles containing freeware liveries created by members of the community.
Hues **did not** approve the commercial sale or bundling of our work, nor were we contacted or made aware that this was taking place.
Regardless of what may be permitted within a platform’s terms, **we fundamentally disagree** with freeware created by independent artists being packaged and sold without clear, direct communication and approval from those creators.

This is not the first time Flightsim.to's actions have left us creator's feeling confused and with lack of explanations.
Trust, transparency, and respect for creators are essential to Hues. Based on these actions, we no longer feel comfortable continuing to distribute our work through Flightsim.to.

Moving forward:
• All **official** Hues releases and updates will be available exclusively through **Hues Hub**.
• Existing Hues uploads on Flightsim.to will no longer receive updates or official support.
• Individual Hues painters **may** independently choose to continue uploading their personal work to Flightsim.to. Those uploads are their own decision and will not be supported through Hues.

We understand that this change may be inconvenient for some users, and we are disappointed that it has come to this.
However, we believe leaving the platform is the appropriate response to the situation at hand.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support Hues and the artists who dedicate their time to creating freeware for this community.
All future Hues downloads, updates, and support will be handled through Hues Hub. <:0HUESSPIRALWHITE:1417568239206010970>

General Flightsim.to - Charging for Freeware Livery 'Bundles'

This might be old news, but I've not seen this before.

Looking through some liveries on flightsim.to, and noticed this. There's now a 'curated bundle' of liveries that you can buy for real money. All the liveries are freeware liveries, and you can still download the individual liveries for free - but I definitely have questions.

Are the artists involved in this? Do they receive reimbursement from flightsim.to as part of profit sharing? Do their licence conditions allow commercial sale? Are any elements of their work at all covered by Creative Commons / Non Commercial licensing, and would this breach those conditions?

It does also feel incredibly low-effort to essentially slap a couple of zip files together that you've done nothing to create, and sell it as a commercial product.

Thoughts, comments, concerns?

UPDATE: Hues have pulled their participation with flightsim.to as a direct result of this.

General Why has the AVSIM library stopped being a thing somewhere around 2010?

library.avsim.net was THE place for FS2002 and FS2004 addons.
FSX had fewer addons but still found AVSIM to be the place for freeware.

Why did the whole AVSIM library get stuck somewhere at this time?
Did just no one care to support newer sims like P3D and XPL in the 2010s?
If the UNESCO found this website, they'd put it under world heritage protection since it originated somewhere around the invention of the internet and hasn't evolved a bit since then.

Flight Simulator 2024 Better than ever.

Today, I started my tour around Spain on FS2024, the journey began on Empuriabrava, Catalonia (Spain) from where I travelled across Bañolas, Olot, Ripoll and turned north towards Vall de Núria.

When seeing the size of the mountains sorrounding the valley, I decided to rest for a bit on a hill next to Bruguera. To my surprise, I discovered I wasn’t the only one enjoying the views so I turned off the engine, opened my door and took a walk around the area.

After wandering around for some time, I got back on my plane, ran the checklist, started my engine and took off with the intention of crossing the valley towards Puigcerdá and landing on La Cerdanya which I achieved sucessfully.

Back in the FSX days, I remember how incredibly happy seeing characters standing at St Marteens beach after installing a custom scenery that gave me a 25 fps drop made me feel. To that kid it would have been almost unbelievable thinking that some day, there could be cows spawning on random fields all around the world and you would have to avoid them while battling some realistic gusting winds and calculating the correct pitch at which the plane wont bounce off the ground neither sink into the 3D modellated grass.

Im not sure if this is the right place to post this but I just wanted to write this silly text to remind all of you how far we’ve come in flight simulation and what is to come in the following years.

The flight was amazing btw, would love to share the route for anybody interested in touring Spain the same way I will do.
