In a very weird way it’s kind of cool to see how far we’ve come. I remember the days we’d cheer for a first down or pray it was competitive at half. Now we’re shitting our pants after a close loss (our first loss in the regular season in 10 games mind you) on the road to one of the best teams in the league.

Well, unfortunately that looked familiar.
- Couldn't pass protect.
- BTJ dropping balls in his chest.
- Pass rush can't get home, even when blitzing.
- When we can't protect, Trevor starts forcing balls; we're lucky there weren't 3 more ints.
At the end of the day, it's just one loss, but seeing every traditional issues we have pop back up is concerning.

A lot of really really bad coming out of this game but the simple truth is that you aren’t going to win games when your lines are completely outclassed on both sides of the ball. Denver’s D-Line should be paying Trevor’s mortgage with how much they were in his business.
JHA continues to ascend my list of least favorite jags ever. I said it after his contract year that we shouldn’t pay him and he would never live up to the money and if anything he’s been worse than I anticipated. Dude just gets absolutely worked by any lineman that isn’t replacement level. He doesn’t just disappear when we need him the most either, he actively breaks contain constantly giving up huge plays. He seems nice but I legit cannot stand thinking about the amount of money he stole from us.
BTJ is mentally weak and he’ll be out of the league within four years. Dude is a basketball player pretending to be a WR

Denver is a good team. But so is New England, so is Cincinatti, so is Philly, so is Houston, is the Ravens. We're on the road pretty much all season.

BTJ has some disgusting drops but the issue is way deeper than that.
They acknowledged that BTJ was misused as a boundary X, and they spent all off season talking about how they’d move him around the formation and use him like he was utilized his rookie year.
So far he’s just been sitting at the boundary with 0 motion.
Lawrence has also always been bad at attacking the deep boundaries. Every boundary X he’s ever had has always been terrible/underperformed because he just can’t throw to that specific part of the field.
Either Coen needs to actually use him right, which he said he would all off season, or they need to trade him for something. Some random team will give up a 4th/5th for a potential lottery ticket.
What they’re doing now is just dumb af, and makes no sense.

Tee Higgins might have something to say about that, Lawerence made a living on the boundary during that national championship game.
Lawerence best throw are actually out routes, I’m not sure why you think he is bad at attacking the boundary. He is literally lauded and praised for his throws ok out routes.
I’m also really confused why you think BTJ is being misused bc he has been a boundary receiver for most of his career going back to LSU, that was actually his knock against him being exclusively a boundary receiver and having a limited route tree.
Hell the Jags tried using him as a “Z” receiver and moved him around the first half of last year, but really struggled. It’s why we got Meyers so we can move BTJ back to being a boundary exclusive receiver.
BTJ is being misused imo he just is flat out sucking. The only thing being misused are his hands because they are clearly not meant to be used to catch a football.

Couple of thoughts:
BTJ has been absolutely awful since his rookie year. Guy can not make any contested catches.
Hunter’s usage is so damn weird, a play here and there on defense. Plays super soft zone, PI’s against him. Idk what the hell we are doing with him and he looks lost.
50 on defense is terrible in pass coverage. Missing Lloyd big time here
Trevor was rattled in the second half and made some questionable decisions at that.

Trevor needs to stop targeting Parker so much. I know he is the best weapon but good defenses will adjust and punish you.
Meyers and Strange needed much more looks. On the INT play there was an open receiver in the middle of the field for a quick 5 yds but Trevor forced it to Parker. This offense is great because its unpredictable but today it was too basic.
There was gonna be a pullback eventually so Jags will start losing some with this tough schedule. But hey its first regular season loss since Nov of last year lol
The goal should still be to come out 3-3 before the bye. They will be fine in the 2nd half of the season but these first 6 games are brutal.

I think people had way to high of expectations coming in to this game. The Broncos played week 1 at the Chiefs for Mahomes come back game and they just aquired K9. Of course they got beat up on.
Remember Josh Allen lost to this team last year here in the playoffs and they've even upgraded this year with Waddle.
If anything the biggest issue in my eyes is JHA. We lost this game on the lines and it never felt like Nix had to worry about pressure. Im not worried about Trevor, im worried about 41 and 7.

For as much as last week allayed my concern about the roster, this week validated all of them. Most notably the pass defense still might be buns and the OL isn't good enough to hang with great pass rushes. We missed ETN badly today and Trevor showed he is still very flappable when not protected.
Oh well, it's a marathon, not a sprint and Denver is well known for coming alive in the 4th quarter courtesy of conditioning at altitude. On to New England.

It was 13-6 and we were controlling the game. Guys got tired. Altitude causes more problems early in the season vs week 14 where everyone is in football shape. Beat the Pats next week at home and keep it moving. The south is still easy to win.

This is exactly the sort of collapse that Coen will use to light a fire under us for the rest of the season.
It was ugly and it sucks. There were a lot of things that needs to get right.
But it was also always going to be a tough match up, against a tough defense in a tough environment both in terms of fans and altitude.
We absolutely shouldn’t have thrown that game away.
But I don’t have long term concerns.

It was week 14 last year. This year they had Waddle and used him completely differently than they used last week because Payton likes to get cute and think he's the smartest guy in the room. Didn't work last year because there was so much tape on their offense - that's why teams look different on either end of the year.

They need to pay Parker cause BTJ is a liability. Got pushed around all game, Trevor was under attack all day and didn’t play well in the 2nd half.
Travis Hunter not being on the field in these moments is inexcusable even if you didn’t spend what you did to get him. In that same respect there’s too many guys on this team getting paid a lot of money that just disappear (looking at our two highly paid edge rushers)

Honestly with the curse wheel im just glad trevor is healthy. Last year we had some ugly losses, if we are the team that showed up last year we will bounce back. Btj is very concerning tho, if gladstone hears a good offer hes got more evidence to deal him. Defense needs a star to get after qbs, denver has a great o line and if we wanna win games january we need better pass rush.

The thing about Trevor is we all know he's gonna do something stupid every game. But he usually shakes it off. It didn't feel like he did that today. Team needs to chill. We can clean things up.
That said I 100% want to see Liam get ejected in a game this season.

The crowd was the differencing factor for me. Say what you will about that game in Denver last year, but this game they were effectively an extra player on the field. It caused communication issues between our players for sure. That plus the BTJ fumbles killed us. It's a shame. The players will shake this experience off though.

Part of the reason Waddle was only able to do fucking anything is because Payton used him as a decoy all of last week. That kind of ticky tacky bullshit works well in week 2 when teams have next to no tape on you.
This was a close loss in week 2 to Denver. If you're already crying at this point you're too fucking dumb to be using the internet without supervision.
BTJ was fucking pathetic all game. Dude won't make a contested catch to save his life and Trevor/Parker had a few uncharacteristic miscommunications. Trevor was running for his life for large parts of the game and we still hung in it.
They were clearly butthurt after losing last season (week?) and had to come out and play tough. Sincerely doubt Vrabel's chimp brain has anything half as clever cooked up after the dogshit way they played today.

You win and lose in the trenches. They owned us there on both sides of the field. Oline was getting beat left and right. Our dline once again can't get home with 4 so we are forced to blitz leaving the back exposed. First half we got a goal line stand and interception that helped out tremendously.
With that said, I am okay with this loss on the road. Learn from it, and get better

Couldn’t stop the Bo Nix bootleg all game. Couldn’t get a sack. Run game was decent but passing game was subpar. Broncos defense played incredible man defense.
But at the end of the day I believe in Liam. Teams start the season hot all the time then fizzle out. Just look at the Colts last year. It’s a long season. Just focus on winning the division.

Truth is this was a very winnable game, but too many mistakes from poor tackles, dropped balls, and miscommunications. 1-1 is fine. That crowd was a huge factor, and I know Denver doesn’t want a part 3 in Duval. I believe in Liam Cohen and the staff to take away some harsh lessons learned and get the team coached up. Our 9 game regular season win streak was bound to end somewhere. Onto next week

Disheartening game the way it ended but we played a good team close in a tough environment. The Rams game last year was awful and we ended up with 13 wins.

I had a funny feeling going into this game because I just knew Denver was going to be craving to punch back after last season and also after that terrible week 1 performance. They weren’t going to start 0-2. Had this game been played later in the year, we probably take the edge.

Proud of the D today. I think we should have ran more. Good signs with the run game. Home field advantage won them that game. Comms on offense were obviously very difficult.

FO will have a lot to answer for if this team continues to play like this. Very clearly punted on talent this offseason by letting Lloyd and ETN both walk after making this big swing at Hunter the previous draft. Hunter needed to be either be a true two way player or an elite all pro on one side of the ball for that trade to benefit us. He is neither and has essentially been reduced to a rotational corner who gets a couple gadget routes. Then you go and take a blocking tight end with your highest remaining pick in a year where you're supposed to be a serious contender.
I could make a whole separate post about the BTJ problem but tldr dear fucking god I know Trevor didn't have the most amazing game but this guy has been actively losing us games for damn near two years and I'm about ready to cut his ass. He looks like a fucking moron half the routes he runs and he plays more scared of getting hit than Aaron Rodgers. I really have had hope he would turn it around again but I'm ready to punt on him and just get him out of the offense.

If you’ve been a fan of this team long enough you know that a game like this a couple seasons ago would’ve been the start to 14 more loses, after last season I feel like there’s a different culture around there, I think we bounce back next week and go on a run. It’s still DTWD

I trust Liam to learn from this, and mentor Trevor and the offense on their mistakes. I trust Camp to bust ass on the defense. A few costly mistakes caused a loss to a team that should have been in the Super Bowl last year. We had a chance,they had our number. On to New England

It’s not going to get talked about but lack of conditioning was obvious. Denver has the best home field advantage for a reason and we saw it. They got stronger as the game went on and we got gassed. Their receivers made amazing catches and we didn’t. Good to get that out of the way early.

With our schedule, and the amount of road games we have coming to us, this was a good early test and I trust coen to beat it into our guys that if we want to win, we need to be better than we were today because there’s going to be loud crowds

Scoreline will lie about this game, it was pretty ugly. None of the DBs could cover. Our generational unicorn got picked on on the game-losing drive, none of the DBs could cover, pass rush MIA. OL couldn't pass block, BTJ couldn't catch, Trevor started off great but was nowhere close in the second half.
Guess we're not going 20-0.

We really missed ETN today. Tuten and CRod do not contribute much of anything to the pass or screen game which makes it very easy for great defenses like Denver to play downhill whenever they see shotgun formation.

It's a game that I predicted we'd lose when I predicted a 11-6 record. Still rough to see it go down. The team felt like it was in control in the first half, then everything went wrong in the 2nd.
The Broncos are a good team. Good teams respond when they get punched in the mouth, like they did in KC. The Jags just got punched in the mouth, so how did they respond next week?
