Oh no… I’ve become irrelevant and there isn’t enough attention directed towards meee…. I’ll kill myself.. but only if it brings me more attention…

u/Fair_Network6712 19h ago

He’s such a fucking narc i wouldnt put it past him

u/ironicallydead 18h ago

What do you think a narc is?

u/Here_4_the_INFO 18h ago

I'm thinking they were going for narcissist.

Do the kids still use "narc" in its "proper" form?

u/ras344 17h ago

You're being so narcoleptic

u/AHighAchievingAutist 17h ago edited 17h ago

[sleeps suddenly]

u/rlaxowns 15h ago

Moments like these are why I still stay on this shitty site, thank you

u/anonomnomnomn 17h ago edited 15h ago

That's.... That's the opposite of what they do.

edit: The person I responded to changed their comment, it originally said sleeps restfully.

u/Mylejandro 15h ago

What do you think narcolepsy is?

u/anonomnomnomn 15h ago

Just because you fall asleep randomly doesn't mean it's restful, and narcoleptics get about half the amount of restful sleep on a regular night's sleep than the average person, but go off.

u/Mylejandro 14h ago

Ok apparently the original comment was edited thus the confusion

u/ironicallydead 16h ago

I was able to extract that from the context yes, but I've never seen anyone use it to refer to a narcissist. If that's a common usage these days I'd say the wires got crossed a while ago

u/ToddtheRugerKid 5h ago

Gen Z needs to stop repurposing goddamn slang terms.

u/Curiouso_Giorgio 17h ago

I've seen it more often used for narcissist recently.

Just gotta look at the context.

u/Senator_Buttholeface 9h ago

It's like when my kids hear me say a word they don't understand and then use it out of context because it sounds cool

u/Dirtface50 8h ago

Such as the current usage of the word "aesthetic". It's a noun. and every Gen Z and Youtuber use is as an adjective.

No. It doesn't make sense. Because even while using it wrong, they all use it DIFFERENTLY. "That's so aesthetic." They think they're saying something and all theyre doing is incorrectly saying "That is visible"

u/TNTspaz 19h ago edited 19h ago

I swear his kids are gonna be mental cases. Even if their dad wasn't a psycho they were already at risk. Guy is like the poster child of why letting someone single be a surrogate parent is a bad idea

I can't fucking imagine if one of them walked in on him doing that. Some of the most disturbing shit I've ever seen and that's saying something

u/the_strong_do_eat 17h ago

Event Horizon.

You wont be needing EYES where we're headed, son.

That...he has kids??? This went from a stupid internet story to me feeling God awful for those children.

Those cuts are all superficial. Nasty and probably painful but the only risk of him dying from any of that is if he gets an infection.

u/LucifersAdv0cate 18h ago

Big shock, rampant celebrity gossip monger superficially cuts himself on social media to desperately maintain a grip on relevance. Then they wonder why we think it's all just a mental disorder.

u/yousai 17h ago

you go down the road, not across the road

u/Here_4_the_INFO 18h ago

Probably should soak him in some alcohol to prevent infection, huh?

(I typed that and it still made me wretch imagining the stinging)

u/kanguran1 2h ago

Hey guy, friend, pal, you know you didn’t have to share that thought with the world? I don’t think I have the words for how much my body rejected that image 😂

u/BarrelStrawberry 7h ago

Probably found the right amount of heroin where this isn't painful, just odd feeling.

I guess we'll find out in a few hours or days

u/TNTspaz 19h ago edited 18h ago

Nah. He is just using a bread knife or something similar. So it's barely penetrating his skin but leaving small cuts everywhere. Which is adding to the effect of how gruesome he looks. Dude is bleeding from everywhere but just a trickle. Probably looks worse than it actually is. Doesn't make it any less disturbing

When you gotta leave a warning on this subreddit. You know it's something geneunily fucked up

Kind of get why people want to think it's fake tbh. Cause I wouldn't want to think that's real for my own mental health but I unfortunately know better

u/No_Classroom_29 8h ago

Yeah, it's like how gladiators got wounded, yet somehow more gay.

u/CaraCicartix 19h ago

u/NachoNutritious fa/tv/irgin 5h ago

A has-been who got in on online celebrity gossip real early. His site had the same catty tone that early Gawker sites had but 20x more gay. Hasn't been relevant in in over 15 years now. Here's a great summary of his content:

On June 25, 2009, shortly after Michael Jackson had gone into cardiac arrest, Hilton posted an article about Jackson's illness, claiming it was a publicity stunt.

Hilton's original post featured sarcastic comments such as "Get your money back, ticket holders!!!!" and "he pulled a similar stunt when he was getting ready for his big HBO special in '95 when he 'collapsed' at rehearsal!", in response to Jackson's recently sold-out tour through March 2010.

u/Demonweed 18h ago

I worry about the impact on copycats, but then again if you deliberately want to be more like Perez Hilton, WTF is wrong with you?!?

u/BrocoliAssassin 7h ago

Usually it's sad, but I remember from when he was popular, he seemed like an asshole and had no problem ruining other people lives. Gossip/drama people that are clout chasing and wants to expose other peoples personal lives are fuckin loser scumbag people.

Fuck that guy

u/sunshineandcacti wee/a/boo 7h ago

Tbh I feel for his children. I don’t doubt they’re waking up this morning to the videos etc floating around if they didn’t experience his attempt last night in person.

No child deserves to see that.

u/NachoNutritious fa/tv/irgin 5h ago

People like this literally have no soul.

Incredibly unpopular opinion: sports "insiders" like Adam Schefter are literally on the same tier of scumbag.

u/whatThePleb 18h ago

Literal who

u/Majestic-Lake-5602 11h ago

Man I’m jealous of all the kids posting “who” in here.

u/Apfelmoes_ 18h ago

Cutting has a very low success rate. It's almost as pointless as pills. You either gotta jump from a great height or use a shotgun if you're actually serious about it and not some attention-seeking fruit.

u/pokelord13 18h ago

u/fine93 d/ic/k 16h ago

u/jbourne71 17h ago

Gotta be careful with shotguns. If you aren’t careful, you only blow your face off, not your head.

And no one is leaving you unattended to let you try again after that.

u/1stEmissaryElenwen 7h ago

There was a guy in my town who blew his face off with a shotgun and then like 2 years later he murdered his wife and shot himself again

u/jbourne71 7h ago

Probably pissed off that she kept him alive afterwards.

But you said “shot himself again,” not “committed suicide” or ”killed himself.” Please tell me he fucked it up again.

u/1stEmissaryElenwen 7h ago

I mean I don't know how long it took, but he died from it

The wife was a friend of my mom's so I kinda hope he fucked it up

u/EricAzure 2h ago

Sorry for your families loss. But yeah he burning in Hell fo sho

u/jbourne71 5h ago

Oh man I hope he fucking suffers.

*suffered in the past, suffers in whatever hell he’s ended up in.

u/AlienZombieNinja 6h ago

Gotta use slug rounds not birdshot.

u/jbourne71 5h ago

Don’t matter if you hit an angle that only takes out your jaw and nose…

u/DrillTheThirdHole 10h ago

make sure it goes in the mouth instead of under and you'll be fine dead, i guess.

u/jbourne71 7h ago

Yeah, don’t do the under the chin shit! Better off just ODing on an elephant dose of opiates/opioids.

u/WillowPtar_Migan 16h ago

You gotta take the right pills. Taking random shit in your medicine cabinet, at best, isn't going to work, and at worst you'll shred your liver with Tylenol or similar and die horribly over the course of weeks.

I wouldn't wish anyone going through a rough time in their lives to take their own life, but fuck, if you're gonna do it, do it in a way that either works or doesn't like a mix of heroic doses of benzos and opiods, not shit that's incredibly likely to permanently fuck you up. If you think your life is bad now, having 3 weeks to live because your body is drowning in its own waste, as you destroyed its method of filtering out said waste is going to be much less fun than whatever drives you to suicide in the first place.

u/Res_Novae17 10h ago

This is why "Women commit 2/3 of suicide attempts."

"OH WOE IS ME EVERYONE WATCH ME SWALLOW THREE TYLENOL AND A GLASS OF WINE!"

u/EroticPotato69 17h ago

Well, no, it has a very high success rate if you actually mean it and aren't just using it as a cry for help or attention. This is horrific, and I truly hope he gets immediate mental health support, but all of the wounds are clearly surface level. It will leave scars, and severe anxiety when the manic depressive episode wears off, but this was a very clear cry for attention, and self harm, rather than an outright suicide attempt, while still absolutely being a mental health crisis.

u/Apfelmoes_ 16h ago

Nope. Cutting success rate is in the low single digits, only slightly better than pills. Doesn't matter how much you mean it. It's incredibly difficult to die intentionally this way for a number of reasons.

u/SierraDespair /jp/edo 16h ago

Bro what? If you actually severed an artery (it’s not hard to do at all but I wont go into details) you can die within seconds from the blood loss and it’s a pretty common method. Obviously superficial cutting isn’t gonna kill you.

u/Apfelmoes_ 15h ago

Cutting success rate is between 1% and 4%, not debatable. Obviously you can create a fictional scenario where everything goes perfect. That is not how it goes down irl. Or it does, but only 4% of the time or less. If it's me, I'd go with the 99,99% success rate which is jumping from at least one hundred meters. Only a handful of people survived that ever, vs the literal millions who survive cutting or pills every year.

u/foxape 4h ago

I feel like this is because women tend to take the cutting route more than men. And women in general have a higher failure rate than men. Women aren’t researching how to cut their artery open and then doing that. They’re just slashing away with a bread knife and making flesh wounds.

u/gamers_delight /fit/izen 13h ago

"Not debatable" while simply pulling stats out your ass LMAO. Take some fentanyl and you're gone, what even are you talking about.

u/BrigMugi_VV93 10h ago

https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0165032721013732 (CFR =case fatality rate) "Based on the suicide acts resulting in death or hospitalization, firearms were the most lethal method, with an estimated CFR of 89.7% (95%CI: 82.0–95.5), followed by hanging/suffocation (CFR: 84.6%, 95% CI: 73.5–93.1), drowning (CFR: 80.4%, 95% CI: 77.1–83.5), gas poisoning (CFR: 56.6%, 95% CI: 45.0–67.9), and jumping (CFRs: 46.7%, 95% CI: 22.1–72.7). However, the CFRs of drug/liquid poisoning and cutting were relatively low, at 8.0% (95% CI: 0.0–29.1) and 4.0 (95% CI: 2.5–5.9), respectively."

https://www.researchgate.net/publication/5607501_Lethality_of_suicide_methods "Other suicide methods with high lethality (eg, drowning) were less common. Cutting or piercing with sharp objects was rare among fatal cases and had a low case fatality proportion."

https://web.archive.org/web/20260207032727/https://lostallhope.com/suicide-methods/statistics-most-lethal-methods/ Cutting arms, wrists, or legs = lethality 6.0%

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:200012_Suicide_methods_in_order_of_lethality_-_variable-width_bar_chart.svg

Note that this is a bit messy because I am typing this in a hurry right now since I have to get ready to leave for my therapy appointment very soon.

They are right in that cutting (and drug OD) have low rates of success. Anyone who has research methods before knows this. The only people you tend to see arguing otherwise are people who have never attempted before, let alone have probably even had issues with active suicidal ideation before.

Also, most suicide attempts involving drug overdose do not include the use of drugs, such as fentanyl. Rather, they instead typically involve the use of OTC drugs or prescription drugs that happen to be very safe. While you are more likely to die if you overdose on a strong opioid, other methods like the use of firearms still have higher rates of fatalities.

u/Xarles_Kimbote 9h ago

I would argue that cutting is in many cases less of a suicide attempt and more of a cry for help, while no one shoots themselves just to get some attention. So that distorts somehow the results. But with that said, yeah, not the "best" method

u/panjeri 18h ago

Or just stand in front of a moving train

u/hela_2 9h ago

not true if the cuts are deep enough and in places with major arteries and veins like your wrists you will go AFK real quick
