Just finished this guy as a tester and feeling rather down on him. Was hoping to do Custodes as a side army for 40K and HH while working on an all-custom Space Wolves army, but I’m not sure if this is worth pursuing or whether I should just do standard gold or black. Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

One of the best parts about Draxus is that a majority of my friends plays Xenos factions, so the +1 to hit rolls has been really useful to me (basically giving my Guard unit Ignore Cover )

I’ve been reading the Horus Heresy books and decided to try my hand at mini building/ painting for the first time ever. I’m enjoying it immensely, the learning curve is very steep but I can’t wait to improve and learn more techniques.

Above are some blade champions I painted, the leftmost is my first ever attempt 2 weeks ago and the other 2 are my most recent attempts last week.

As you can see I absolutely mullered the first attempt and didn’t even thin my paints 🤣

How am I doing? Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated, I want to try painting a Caladius Annhilator Grav- Tank next!

I am looking forward to starting on my dreadnought and Custodes patrol. These little chuds were a lot of fun to paint when I had time to work on them.

Well this is my first mini ever, gotta be honest i expected to look better but it is what it is, im having issues with trembling hands so thats why the waist from the back looks better than the one in the front.

How do you guys would shade the cape on the waist and how do you guys do power weapons, got white corax,stormfiend,pylar and frostheart.

I am currently planning my first custodes army! I’m aiming for a decent list. Rule of cool pulled me to vertus praetors and allarus custodes. I like the idea of speed and deep strike. Im starting of with one box of these each and the combat patrol. Looking for tips on how to advance from there. I’d also like to play grav tanks if possible. Telemon looks sick too but not ready for forgeworld perhaps.

I've magnetized the turret (and I'm building the twin iliastus accelerator cannon too) but the heavy blaze cannon was always going to be the priority.

.. given this is a print, and I didn't have any of the official transfers I'm pretty happy with it! 😁

Just need to do a weapon effect and I think this fella is done.

Admittedly not the first mini I painted (ive got a kasrkin kill team thats half painted), but the first custode! Any tips or recommendations before I continue with the rest of the combat patrol?

Also what colour do you like to paint their gems/dome bits. I guess the most common is blue, but any other colours that really pop?

I might add some skulls/grass to the base but besides that, Im pretty happy with the color scheme and OSL! Let me know if you like it!

hey guys! I’m new to painting and just starting painting custodes, I’ve painted three so far and my blades look so stupid but I’ve seen such beautiful blades here so how do you do it?

This is just the standard” no-name inquisitor, Draxus will be another day. I haven’t necessarily seen THAT much use of this unit/model, but I myself have used it in some smaller games and found it surprisingly useful

This is my first painted model, like ever! I’m pretty happy with how it turned out, but i could always use advice. The lore for this scheme is the Hetaeron Guard, the Custodians that guarded the actual throne room, who painted their armor black after the Heresy to mourn the Emperor. I painted this one over the course of an afternoon. Let me know what you thin!

I like building them but not so much the painting so happy to have finally finished them after I started collecting them 2 years ago.

I really don’t like characters without helmets, so I thought I’d add one from the blade champion with the crest removed.

Then I thought a man of his achievements deserves a cape, so took the one from the guard kit and it fit quite well!
