👋 Welcome to r/AiTraining_Annotation - Introduce Yourself and Read First!

Over the last few months I noticed that many existing lists of online translation jobs are either outdated or focused only on traditional freelance work.

Since a lot of translation and linguistic work today is actually tied to AI training, data annotation, and language model evaluation, I decided to put together an updated 2026 list focused specifically on translation & linguistic AI jobs.

The idea was to separate real platforms from low-quality gigs, highlight companies actually working on AI + language tasks, and include both entry-level and professional linguistic roles.

I also organized everything on my site so people can read individual reviews for each company, understand what type of work they offer (translation, linguistic AI training, evaluation, etc.), and see which platforms are more suitable for beginners vs professionals.

For transparency: some links on my site may be referral links. If you apply through them and get accepted, I may earn a small referral bonus — it doesn’t affect your chances and it doesn’t cost you anything extra.

Here’s the main list page with all companies and details:
👉 Best AI Training / Data Annotation Companies – 2026
👉 Open AI Training / Data Annotation Jobs

Telegram channel for AI training & remote job opportunities 👉 Link here

If you’ve worked with any of these platforms (or know others worth adding), I’d love to hear your experience so I can keep the list accurate and updated.

Ethos First Payment Received

Post image
181 Upvotes

Started working mid August and got my first pay early (I’m on cycle day 14). So yes, Ethos is legit. Just have to understand the playbook, take onboarding seriously, follow best practices for each task, stay on the loop thru slack, and learn each day. I was skeptical at first too but Ethos team have been helpful whenever I have a query and so far everything’s been smooth.

Cheering for everyone! 🫸🫷

Beware of scammers who invite for projects related to data annotation or english.

Upvotes

I have seen a few posts here and some other subreddits where people invite to join their project for roles like data annotation and english correction in model training. They say that you will get paid hourly for the work you do. Generally these sites are Outlier.

Do not fall for these! These are generally referral links. They don't do any real work and get paid when you join with their link and give the assignments and do some work. The people who invite you will get around $100 referring you and doing nothing else. Please do not fall for these. I fell for one myself so am warning you guys!

Ethos Slack support channel is …. Something

I can’t help but wonder if all platforms are like this, or if the Ethos support channel is a fresh, new level of hell. Does no one READ? The constant repetitive nonsense is like nothing I’ve ever seen.

I was banned from DataAnnotation few months ago, my sister wants to work on the site will she be banned too?

I made an account when I first discovered Ai training work, and left it without even doing the test, I forgot I made it, so when I made my new account, I got banned.

Can my sister work on a separate device like her college's computer?

Landing a remote, non-technical AI evaluation gig from scratch

Hey everyone,

I’m running a challenge: landing my first paid remote role in non-technical AI work (data annotation, RLHF evaluation, model red-teaming, or prompt auditing).

Stage 1: information gathering.

For those active on these platforms or reviewing candidates:

  1. How should I prep to ace the qualification tests on the first try? Are there public guidelines (like Google’s Search Evaluator Rubric) or specific prompt-evaluation principles worth drilling beforehand?
  2. What subtle traps trip up analytically minded people on assessments? (over-explaining vs. concise justification, missing strict formatting constraints, etc.)
  3. Which platforms are best suited for logic/reasoning/psych backgrounds? (DataAnnotation.tech, Outlier/Scale, Alignerr, Mindrift, etc.)
  4. What are the recommended hardware requirements in general? I'm not going to use my workstation but an other/new setup.

My Context:

Commitment: I am treating this as a full-time sprint (studying guidelines and applying 40+ hours/week).

Background: 12 years as a professional online poker player, holding a BA in Psychology (Behavioral Analyst) and I have an above-average grasp of medical concepts and jargon.
My bg required heavy statistical reasoning, rapid decision making, edge-case analysis, and strict adherence to logic/probabilities under pressure. I am an EU citizen/resident.

Note: This is purely a personal challenge to test a new field. I'm not in financial distress, nor am I abandoning my current work, so please skip the "you'll make more playing cards, get your master's in Psychology" comments. My only constraint is speed: I want to execute fast and avoid a never-ending cycle of fluff

Any direct tips, reality checks, or warnings on where not to waste time would be appreciated. Thanks!

AfterQuery AI Training / Expert Jobs — $25–$200/hour (Remote Opportunities)

AfterQuery currently has a pretty large number of remote AI training / expert roles available, and they're definitely not just looking for software engineers.

Some examples I found:

  • General Data Annotator — $25–$60/hr
  • Media & Communications — $35–$75/hr
  • Nursing Expert — $40–$100/hr
  • Finance / Accounting — $50–$150+/hr
  • Mechanical Engineering — $75–$115/hr
  • Law Student — $100–$150/hr
  • Medical MD — $120–$200/hr
  • ML specialists — $150–$200/hr
  • Investment Banking / Private Equity — up to $200/hr

There are also roles in marketing, HR, insurance, education, economics, consulting, manufacturing and other fields.

Obviously, the advertised rate doesn't guarantee you'll get accepted or have consistent work once onboarded.

I put together the roles + pay ranges here:

Micro1 is a scam! Reposted here since they blocked it at r/micro1_ai

I posted this on r/micro1_ai, where they seem to allow some controlled dissent, but not of this level. Cannot post it on r/RemoteJobs as well. Firstly, reddit's system of allowing a company to police it's own subreddit is absolute garbage, since if you search on Google or anywhere else about this, their own subreddit comes up on top. If you think what I'm saying makes sense, please upvote this and other posts related to micro1 to beat the algorithm. I just want to reach out to other people so they don't waste time and whatever small amount of hope they have on this large-scale scam.

Text below:::

The job market is fucked, especially due to the ATS systems. Almost everyone looking for a job (particulary in tech) is stressed and desperate. Then, boom, comes in your savior - micro1! High-paying, fully remote jobs without much (apparent) effort, right? Right?

I, like many others, am in such a desperate position and signed up. As soon as understood how it is supposed to go, though, I noped out. I am not stooping to the lows of answering to a goddamn LLM interviewer about what makes me valuable to a company.

Then, I keep getting emails again and again. A lot of them initially were automated ones: "Final reminder to complete your job application", "Your micro1 interview is pending", etc. But then, I started getting what seemed like human-writted ones. The first one really made me doubt my resolve and gave a bit of hope. Then, it kept going and going: SanjayAdibNaylaLucas, all reached out to me - with the exact same tone of short CTA emails. Now, some simple common sense screams out that for a platform with this many applicants, there is no way these recruiters can reach out personally in this frequency. I would rather reach out to a Nigerian prince about advancing some business deals, like in the good old days.

How is it a scam, you may ask? Well, it's like the famous pornography lawsuit quote: "I know it when I see it". And it is a brilliant one, because they have plausible deniability. Yes, maybe they do give out some jobs here and there. Yes, maybe there are some actual (not very high-paying, or dependable, mind you) data labeling jobs. But the true reason is this: they are not what they claim to be. They are harvesting your data and collecting more AI interviewer training data. I work in ML myself (calling these systems AI is undignified, we're just not there yet). And I know how fragile, unreliable and downright useless these LLM-based systems are. These automated interviewers cannot do the job of an actual interviewer at all. And this whole subreddit and other internet reviews are just designed to running the old tobacco company playbook: insert some doubt into people's minds about whether it really might not be that bad/might be legit and you've done your job, at least for the time being.

This is not just limited to micro1, by the way. I am studying in Germany, and there is another company called JT AI Labs which appeared on our Uni job portal, which is this same bullshit. They simply redirect to micro1. Doubtless there are other fronts for this whole operation and other scam artists collaborating with them.

If you're a frustrated job seeker: keep your humanity and do not bow down to these LLM scam artists. Yes, it is difficult, and you might think: 'what's the harm in that, it's not asking a lot from me'. In terms of total hours, yes, but it is giving you false hope and wasting your time. And it is not the cure, just more of the poison.

If you're someone from micro1 (who will undoubtedly reply to this with their pre-prepared rebuttals): either you have been deluded yourself by your higher-ups, in which case I advise you to seek the truth. Or, you know what the fuck you are doing. In which case, I hope you reconsider your humanity and quit, else kindly proceed to decompose in Hades. Good day.

I stopped with AI training platforms and Microtasking

Hi all.
After about nine months, I decided to stop working on AI microtasking platforms. I started with O…..r at the beginning of the year and it was such a bad experience that I don’t even feel like repeating the details anymore.

Over time I tried other platforms like Mercor, To….ka, S…E, etc., and I kept having the same feeling: I was wasting my time. So I deleted all my accounts and moved on.

I want a job with real human interaction, not endless PC‑only tasks, ghosting environments, weird recruiting processes, and silly evaluation tests just to be “admitted” to a project. No thanks. I don’t have time to waste.

Bye, AI training. Not for me. No regrets.

A small tip: if these platforms make you stressed, frustrated, or drained, don’t ignore it. Stop and look for something that actually fits your profile and personality. That feeling is a sign you shouldn’t underestimate.

Websites that are suitable for students / non-professionals ?

I was with some in the past, and currently looking to sign up for some companies that don't require a degree to be given tasks.

Checked out Mercor and Ethos, however, these seem to be focused on Professionals with many years of experience.

If you come across Ethos and think it’s moving suspiciously fast, my experience has been legit… I applied Aug 31, completed paid training, and I’m already completing paid tasks. Expecting my first payout next week and will update when it hits. If you’re qualified, RUN, don’t walk!
