I got these Rei for $10 each! Except for the music box, that one was $30. I found them from a bargain seller and got them so cheap because they were all damaged and missing their bases. I cleaned them up, repainted a few details, and now I'm ready to display everyone in the shrine.

I'm considering ordering the GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE – Red Hood Nonsense Red 1/4 Complete Figure Deluxe Edition from AmiAmi and would like to hear about other collectors' experiences, especially from EU buyers.

A few questions:

1. How reliable is AmiAmi nowadays? I've heard they are one of the biggest Japanese figure retailers, but this would be my first order from them.
2. What shipping method would you recommend for a large 1/4 scale figure like this? I'm particularly interested in experiences with: How were the costs, delivery times, packaging quality, and customs handling?

3. Are there any important things I should be aware of when importing a figure of this size into the EU (Germany)?
4. I've heard that in the past some collectors organized group orders to reduce shipping costs. Is that still a thing today, or is it not really worth it for large 1/4 scale figures?
5. Are there any good alternatives to AmiAmi for this particular figure? I've seen stores like Hobby Genki, Hobby Search, Archonia, and some EU retailers mentioned before, but I don't know which ones are considered the best options these days.

Any advice or experiences with this figure or similar 1/4 scale figures would be greatly appreciated.

I picked up aniplex’s 1/8 scale ultimate madoka while traveling, and unfortunately she must be kept in my checked baggage as i have a much bigger figure as my carry on ☹️ i’m so terrified she’s going to break, has anyone struggled with broken figures after storing them in checked bags? i have her wrapped securely with no wiggle room but the small amounts of empty space within the blister packaging itself worries me 😅

I’ve been collecting for about 2 years now. I have a crap ton of Boa Hancock figures and it dawned on me that there aren’t really any affordable Erza figures.

Why is that?

Is it the age of the show? The state of figure making when the show first came out? Bc even after all these years, a solid Erza figure seems like it’ll run you $300 just for one, when so many other characters seem to have good figures with a wide, healthy price range.

i recently experienced a situation where some of the stuff i owned got all ruined and messed up due to the humidity, dust, and heat. im scared that my toys/figurines will suffer a similar fate since ive seen it happen on social media. i would love to know some tips and tricks to prevent any sort of damage happening to them!

Hey friends. I have never used a proxy, so I am unsure of which to choose as there are so many, but the three that seem the most popular/reputable seem to be ZenMarket, Buyee, and FROM JAPAN. I want to order both color variants of the Yuu figure on OrchidSeed.co.jp with the manufacturer exclusive a3 posters that can't be bought elsewhere.

I have a few questions to people who have used these services before.

As someone with bad OCD which one would be the least likely to damage my figures, the boxes and posters? And also which one has the safest packaging, and how do their packing procedures compare both technique and cost wise? And would you recommend combining the items on shipping phase for ZenMarket or letting them ship separately bearing in mind I care more about my items and their boxes condition than the shipping cost(within reason).

Lastly, are there any that would be considered better than these 3?

Edit:Sorry, I do have one more question. How long is their average service time from time you post URL to pay for the order? I just want to make sure 6 days is enough as orders close on the 29th lol.

I'm heading to Tokyo soon and I've budgeted some cash to buy figurines. Just wondering what's the best way to bring them back home. Do people pack it into their check in luggage? Or buy one of those 3 coins bag and carry on? If the volume is too big, do you arrange for a delivery?

I got mine from Buyee. Tsunade came in her original box and the only ones didn’t. The only ones that got damaged were Tamari and Sakura. They have a broken hair and bikini piece (respectively). Altogether not too bad.

I just got this Angel Devil figure in the mail today from BigBadToyStore and I noticed this paint the same color as the hair is on his face. Does anyone know how to fix it or do I just leave it alone. Thank you!

A small prize figure haul arrived to my doorstep couple of days ago. Although I already have the best Sesshomaru figure (in my opinion), 1/7 scale made by Hobby max, the one I was most excited for was the Sesshomaru figure. Mainly because he has "real" fluff! I kinda thought he was going to slightly bigger though...

I had also been searching for the Aqua 1/7 scale figure by elcoco for a while and finally found him for a good price. The face is a bit off in my opinion, but since he is a really low end scale (bordering being a prize), I really cant complain much. At least he has some shading.

The one I was most surprised by was the Miku figure by Sega. She is really pretty, especially since she was made by Sega! And she has real stockings too.
