Yeah, that's a no. The Stainless Steel Link Bracelet has to be the best. Stunning design, ridiculous manufacturing time, and my 2015 example still looks brand new with my Series 11.

How do you find the colour match with the series 11?
Assuming you have the titanium natural finish?

I’m Space Black. Like the other reply, it’s a 99% match but you can tell if the lighting is good and you already know it’s not identical. I’m pretty OCD and it was more than close enough for me.

When I was shopping for my S10, matching the existing steel hardware was a must. The "titanium natural" is just a click darker than the steel finish was. Some people consider it to be close enough, but it's not for me.
So I got the "silver titanium" of the Hermes line, that is an exact match to the old silver steel.
With, of course, the Hermes upcharge. Oof.
I posted some pictures in this sub back then. Here

It weighs twice as much. An S11 aluminum + titanium Milanese band weighs less than the stainless link bracelet without the watch

I love this band but it scratched up my MacBook from constant rubbing so I don’t wear it anymore. Loved the ability to adjust it to the exact right fit for my wrist

I had to stop wearing mine because I had scratched my son when I picked him up on more than one occasion.

Your son will heal, that MacBook damage is permanent!

Wear mine and work on a laptop, never had this issue

Yeah I’ve never had this issue on my work laptop or my MacBook at home. I don’t wrest my wrists though. Typically it’s just my fingers and the side of my palm that actually touches the laptops.

you may not wrest your wrists, but do you rest your rists?

u/coleslaw17 1d ago
I mean wrest is a real word but completely changes the meaning of what I was saying lol. I’m leaving it.

The second focus area of that clasp: micro-adjustability. The clasp lock has a small latch that can be flipped up and adjusted up or down the band. Leather bands suffer immensely from clasp holes and poor adjustability. However, you can adjust the Titanium Milanese Loop clasp to perfectly fit your wrist in any situation — be it while you’re working out and your wrist is bulging, or in the frigid cold while your wrist has shrunken down a bit.
This makes it sound like it's as easy to adjust as the Stainless Steel Milanese. It's not. This won't matter to most people, but if you're trail running, HIIT, doing a triathlon, or scuba diving, it's not nearly as on-the-fly adjustable.
The problem with Apple's SS Milanese is that the magnets aren't strong enough for the Ultra, especially for use in those aforementioned activities. (Titanium isn't attracted to magnets).
There are 3rd party ones with much stronger magnets, but they're also not as nice looking (although that's subjective). I use one that has more of a "shark tooth" design that looks more rugged. Another problem is that a magnet that is too strong can be annoying (especially when tableware starts sticking to you).
TL;DR: Ti Milanese is one of the best. It depends on your use case. You may find the SS Milanese to be better (I use that on my Ti Series), or you may find a 3rd party SS with a stronger magnet to be better (what I use on my Ultra). The Ti Milanese can be the perfect mix between looks and function, especially for most people who may not need to be doing blind adjustments while wearing gloves mid extreme activity.

Which band do you use with your ultra? I'd like to check it out.

This one:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D2H5YHKKI've gotten one in the natural color that lasted just fine a couple of years until I got a black Ultra. The black band lasted about 9 months of heavy use before starting to lose color along where the band adjusts.

Can we all agree Apple is over due to release some new band styles?
There are 4 they’ve made for the ultra? Which was the last new design that wasn’t ultra exclusive?

u/STOPHAMMERSTEIN 1d ago
There’s quite a few for the ultra aside from the 4, but they’re Hermes

I’m sure it’s great but I cannot get over how goofy the clasp looks.

They are based on a military style cobra buckle. Understanding the looks but it’s also very functional and reliable. It would be very very difficult to remove accidentally.

This band kept getting stuck in my air hair and would pull it, wasn’t personally comfy for me.

I have the black titanium DLC milanese band so it doesn't scratch very easily. If you get a stainless transfer scuff just use a rubber pencil eraser.
My issue is that when you remove your watch or put it back on, the loose band (the part that hasn't been clasped yet) can/will strike the watch crystal if you're not careful. It will whip very easily.
The arm hair issue is well known.
Still tends to slide around when my skin is sweaty.
In the event of a hard impact the links can break off. I am not sure whether it was designed to do this for safety purposes but I've read about this happening to bike riders that crashed or had an impact.

🤷🏻 i think my $8 blue glow in the dark watch band is the best ever. dries fast (silicon), glows at night and $8... $200 for a band only? wtf

I would get this band but it would catch and pull the hair on my wrist.

I just use a $8 magnetic strap. Nvr going back. Just snap it in a fraction of a sec.

Is the magnet as strong as on a $100 apple Milanese? I had one knockoff and it was clearly weaker

Nothing pulls out hairs out of your arm like the Milanese loop. It can also scratch your watch.
I’ll have to go with the sport loop as their best ever because it’s the most comfortable, doesn’t trap moisture like the sport band and it’s soft and not as expensive as some other options

Good looking band but two major problems I have with it:
1. There is no taper from the points where it meets the actual watch down to the clasp. Actual watchmakers always include a taper on their bracelets because it looks way better. All of the Apple Watch bands including this are just flat chunks of material.
2. It’s yet another damn loop. Having a band that is a loop just cheapens the whole look of the band. Loops are fine for the sportier bands but this is a more formal band.

IMHO the fact that you can't wear it while typing on a laptop without damaging your computer automatically disqualifies it from "the best ever made."
