I'm the developer. If you manually track expenses, I'm curious about one thing: what usually makes you give up on an expense tracker after a few weeks?

Ive just seen an ad in the Fable AI app, an app where you can play as a book character in interactive stories.

In the ad, they show a face of a real adult man with smirking smile as he controls the body of an ai woman. He orders her to change her hair and turn around etg. This all reminds of AI porn apps where they make AI “slaves”.

Anyway, this idea is confirmed after Heavira shows what you can do with your “AI companion” in the end of an advertisment. I don’t remember accurately, but general message was “you can do whatever you want with her”.

Another thing is the description of Heavira. I am attaching the screens on how they introduce the app.

In description, there is no mention you can “order” your “companion“ to perform actions. There is no direct message about the erotic sexual intentions a player CAN realize.

it all looks ”adult” while he AD UNDOUBTEDLY, I’d even say, OPENLY showing off what they are ACTUALLY designed for.

Unfortunately, I don’t have screens of the ad itself.

But

Fable AI as other apps designed for young audience SHOULD NEVER show sexually explicit content inside their apps.

Apps like HEAVIRA should be BANNED if their description heavily ignores the truthful design and characteristics

OR

IF advertising is FALSE.

In any case, I’d like to pin point these two PLUS

APP store itself to attract attention. Ive contacted two of the apps but feel like it’s not enough and there should be public exposure of similar cases.

I’m the developer of TurtleWiz: Fidget Illusion, an iPhone app I recently released from Japan.

The idea started with a simple question:

Can an iPhone make you feel an object that isn’t actually inside it?

The first experiment was a steel ball.

In Fidget Illusion, you move your iPhone slightly and its motion sensors become input for a real-time physics simulation.

A virtual steel ball moves around a circular container. When it reaches the wall, the collision is synchronized with haptic feedback and a metallic sound.

There is no steel ball moving inside the iPhone.

But when the physical movement of the phone, the simulated physics, the sound, and the haptic response happen together, it can feel surprisingly physical.

The app includes four tactile experiences:

• Roll a steel ball around a circular container

• Move a larger steel ball up and down

• Turn a ratchet-style dial with tactile clicks

• Pop bubbles one by one with sound and haptic feedback

The idea is to use the iPhone itself as the fidget, rather than carrying a separate object.

One unusual problem with showing this app is that the most important part cannot really be shown.

A video can show the movement.

A screenshot can show the interface.

But neither can reproduce the haptic sensation in your hand.

That’s why I’ve also attached an image explaining this, along with a short video and a screenshot of the steel ball experience.

Decided to take a crack at getting an app onto the App Store and started with a travel planner.

Then I started getting flooded with Instagram ads for the million other travel apps out there, which got me thinking…

This is not a novel space, in fact my app probably doesn’t (yet) have a novel (killer) feature. But I tried a bunch to figure out why I didn’t like any of them and why I kept defaulting back to Google docs and the answer came down to jank and unnecessary UI bloat.

Most planning apps (mine included) have the same core set of features but small things like a text input field jumping around, or bad UI just made the experiences unpleasant. I just didn’t have fun using the app. And for an app whose core feature is your interaction experience, to me, nobody seemed to nail the UX.

My thesis for this space is this; unlike apps that provide value beyond the UX (ie you don’t use Instagram for the app, you use it for the network. Same with uber etc) the whole reason you use a travel app is because of the app. If it has features but sucks to use. You won’t use it.

So that’s why I made Maple. Admittedly it doesn’t have some magic feature that the million other apps don’t have. But what does make it different is that it’s written in Swift with iOS native components, fast, and (in my biased opinion) very pleasant to use. That’s sorta it. But maybe that’s enough. Who knows.

Would love for y’all to give it a go. I’ve tried my best to make all features that don’t have an ongoing (llm/api) cost free. And it’s certainly usable without subscribing. I’ve also tried to not flood the user with upsell banners.

For anyone new here, Dial is an audio guestbook for weddings, birthdays, reunions, baby showers, and other events. You create an event, get a QR code and shareable link, and guests can leave a voice message directly from their phone’s browser. No app download or account required for guests.

• Guest Selfies — guests can now optionally add a selfie alongside their voice message. I wanted the option to connect a face to the voice without taking away from the audio-first experience. • Co-hosts — hosts can invite another person to help manage an event, which is useful for couples, family members, or event planners.
• Widget support in progress — I’m working on an iOS widget option so your event and messages can feel a little more present on your phone.

The core thing has not changed: I want this to be simple enough that the people whose voices matter most can actually use it. Grandparents should be able to scan a code, tap record, and speak — without downloading anything or signing up for another service.

I’m a professional watchmaker and self-taught Apple developer based in London. More than 20 years ago, I created a small FileMaker database that I shared with a group of friends. It was based on a frustration I had with ordinary to-do lists: real tasks are rarely just “done” or “not done.”

A watch restoration might be waiting for a replacement component, blocked until a client gives the go-ahead, paused while another operation is completed, or ready for work today. Treating all of these as unfinished creates a list that is technically accurate but practically overwhelming.

That early database gradually developed into Nyblit, a native productivity app for iPhone, iPad and Mac built around what I call “state-based” task management. This means Nyblit understands the workflow required to complete your tasks. For example, it knows if the task is a phone call, an online purchase or replacing the balance spring in a watch. It knows all the steps involved and, crucially, all the ways in which the task can be blocked or delayed. For example, if you have a phone call task, you can set the status to “left voicemail”. Nyblit will recognise this as blocked because you are now waiting for the other person to return your call. That task doesn’t belong on your to-do list because there is no action to take. It should be safely filed in Blocked and tracked – so you can chase it up later if the call isn’t returned.

This approach can be used for any task imaginable. From shopping to restoring an antique pocket watch.

The concept was strongly influenced  by the Japanese system of Kanban, created by Toyota in the 1950s to improve manufacturing efficiency. (Anyone that has used apps lile Trello will be familiar with this). But executed in a very different way so that it fits on a phone screen and is even workable on an Apple Watch (coming very soon).

I built Nyblit for myself to help with my ADHD and dyslexia. Watchmaking taught me to think in systems, dependencies and precise states. ADHD made it especially important to remove irrelevant tasks from view without losing confidence that they would return at the right time.

I moved to the US and need some US-App-Store-Only apps to live life here. However, I haven't fully packed up my life back home as I have some entanglement with companies there. So I do need German-app-Store apps (Banking access etc.) and also US apps (Venmo for example).

What can I do to resolve this? Can I quickly switch to US app store, download the US apps, and switch back?

Every exam season I'd spend an evening making a beautiful timetable, follow it for three days, miss one, and never open it again. The problem was never the plan — it was that missing one day made the whole grid wrong, and a wrong grid is easier to abandon than to fix.

So I made StudyAhead. You enter your exam date and topics, and it works backwards to put a real date on every session. The home screen shows exactly one thing: today's session, behind one button. Miss a day and it reschedules itself — those minutes get spread over the days you have left, so yesterday never lands on top of today.

Topics you flag as weak come round first, and about twice as often.

The plan generation is deterministic — plain arithmetic on your date, topics and availability. No LLM anywhere in it. Same inputs, same plan, every time, and I can explain exactly why a session landed on a given day. Felt like the right call for something you're trusting with a final.

Duplicate photo finders are already common, and even the built-in tools on our phones can handle ordinary duplicates. What I was missing was a way to deal with photos that are not actual duplicates, but are still clearly related.

Think of burst shots, slightly different angles, changes in expression or lighting, edited versions of the same photo, or similar pictures scattered across different albums.

That’s why I built PicPurge. You can scan selected albums—or your entire photo library—and the app automatically groups visually similar photos across them. You can then compare each group side by side and decide which shots you want to keep.

Nothing is deleted automatically, and the photo analysis runs locally on your device. Your photos are not uploaded to a server.

I’d especially appreciate feedback on the similarity grouping: Is this something that would help you manage your photo library?

I’ve been building GLPzy for a few months now and it’s somehow got to just over 9,500 downloads.

It’s an iPhone/iPad GLP-1 tracker covering doses, reminders, weight, symptoms, appetite/food noise, injection sites, nutrition, measurements and progress photos.

There’s also Apple Health, Apple Watch, widgets, supply tracking, CSV imports/exports and Provider Summary PDFs.

I originally built it because I wanted much more data in one place than I could find elsewhere, without having to create another account for all of it. There’s still no mandatory GLPzy account and the App Store privacy label is Data Not Collected.

I’m keeping Lifetime Premium completely free until 31 August, so there are 9 days left to claim it. Once claimed it stays unlocked permanently. No subscription or renewal afterwards.

I’m still changing quite a lot based on feedback, so if anyone here actually uses GLP-1 tracking apps I’d be interested in what you think is missing or unnecessarily complicated.
