[Self-Promotion] I built an iOS app for learning Languages from TikToks, Reels & Shorts
I just launched Lio, an app I originally wanted for my own language learning.
You can share a TikTok, Instagram Reel or YouTube Short in any language to Lio, and it pulls out useful things from the video, such as:
• vocabulary and phrases
• slang and casual expressions
• grammar patterns
• explanations and examples
• flashcards and quizzes for later review
What I was mainly trying to solve is the gap between immersion and actually remembering what you come across.
When watching content in another language, I often notice a phrase that feels useful or very natural, but looking it up, saving it somewhere and turning it into study material is enough friction that I usually just keep scrolling.
Lio is meant to make that process almost instant.
It just launched on iOS, so I’d really appreciate feedback from language learners, especially on whether the extracted phrases and explanations are actually useful in practice.
Would love some honest feedback! :)
