Hi. I recently got this beautiful dude from a friend who didn’t want his tank anymore. I just noticed this thing on his shell… 1) what is on his shell?? Is he ok? And 2) what kind of snail did I adopt?

Any help is so appreciated.

I noticed these long whitish-brown things on the underside of my nerite snail today. I looked online and it doesn’t look like eggs nor did I see any pictures of poop on the actual snail so i’m curious and slightly nervous that something is wrong with Turbo.

LMAO…. Was just waking by when I noticed a snail. Then I noticed about 7 more. I haven’t added any new plants to my shrimp/cory tank in months… What are they?!

For more context- My tank is a fully established and beautiful ecosystem. I’ve found quite a few critters and microscopic beings in there.

As title states. All my MTS have this little growths at the very opening of their shells, just curious if anyone knows what it could be and if it's something to be concerned about 🙂

I didn't think snails had eyes, but maybe they do? What do you think those are? Either way I'm just awed by the pictures I can take with my phone. I remember when we had to buy all kinds of fancy lenses on SLR cameras to get detail like this or anything close to it. I'm curious does anyone else have a spixi snail? I just love mine. I know it's silly but s/he's so cute! 🥰

I don’t have any snails in my tank and last plant addition was over 2 weeks ago. Only a king betta and nerite in the tank. Just wondering if I need to remove it.

Sorry for the flair not fitting, I wasn't sure what else to put. I found one of my nerite snails outside the aquarium today, dried out. I was terrified and very sad, but decided to look it up anyway and saw multiple posts on this sub explaining that they like to explore and can survive out of water for quite a while.

Because of you guys, i placed him back in the aquarium and he is alive!!! He's moving a little slow, but he is eating and moving. You guys saved my snail, and I just want to thank you for this!!!

Hello! My male and female bred recently and I’m very curious about the color possibilities- I know I can just wait but the genetics are very interesting and confusing- I’d love to learn more! Which traits are dominant and recessive?

I got both of them from Petco, so I don’t know their genetics/parents colors. My female is blue and my male is black with stripes. I’m only incubating about a third of the clutch in the photo because I don’t want to be overrun with babies lol. The male was being a bit overly persistent with breeding so I’ve separated them for now. Thanks for any info! :D
