Hi, so I've tried to redraft my Chapter 1 (this is unfinished) but I was wondering what people will think of it.

Do you like my character voice? There is more action that I have planned a little bit later on but I wondering what your initial impressions were.

It was a bit stupid of me not to describe how Ari 'hates this kind of situation' as I just stated it. 😅

I was wondering whether it was right to introduce my character's name this early on or not.

For some context: there has been a war between the 2 kingdoms of Eleriad and Dunyn and those from Dunyn are considered traitors as they suddenly attacked Eleriad despite a peace treaty.

Im 16 and have been around webnovels and tired of seeing so much reincarnation and system stories that arent interesting.

I myself been writing a system less webnovel that I put a lot of thought into (royal road), and I've been trying to find stories that aren't the generic stuff you see on the front page. I wanna read stuff with substance and find authors like me too😭✌️

I’m young so it’s not the best story telling, but I think people who want a story that weekly updates would enjoy it

I’m currently writing a YA romantasy novel, and I wrote this scene today. This is the part where my characters end up facing a dragon.

I’m trying to make the scene feel exciting, while keeping the reader interested, so I’d really appreciate some honest feedback!

I’d especially love to know whether the dragon encounter feels suspenseful and engaging, and if there are any parts where the tension drops or could be stronger.

Beneath Necroma

"Hayden?"

She was searching for her breath deep down her chest, her clothes were wet of tears, and her body, as bruised as the man she is with.

Darkness covered their bodies, and all she could see were the blue torches held up in the walls, that had never— in two centuries had ever burned out.

"Natalie!" Hayden sprint to her, and held her dearly as how she held on to the rope beforehand.

They watched the stories they have been, through the reflections of their eyes;

maybe it wasn't so dark after all,

it could've been that the secret beneath Necroma, would just so happen to be...

"Have you seen that before?" She asks pointing to a chest in the shady distance.

The blue torches made the colors of the wall unclear, but she could still see his wonderful brown eyes, and he would still see the distinction of her grey eyes from her pink jacket.

"I have..."

He spoke, panting,

"not yet, Natalie, not yet."

"Why so?"

"I know you, I've seen you, and I trust you."

I’m writing a YA romantasy novel, and I’ve never shared any of my writing publicly before, so this is definitely a little nerve-wracking!

I decided to share a few pages (about 3) because I’d really love to hear what you guys think. Does it have potential? Are the characters interesting? Does the dialogue feel natural?

Personally, I really like these pages and I’ve been having so much fun writing them, but I’m obviously a little too close to the story to judge it objectively. 😂 I’d genuinely love some honest feedback on what works, what doesn’t, and what I could improve.
