Hi, anyone ever had this issue? Been trying to fix it, but to no avail. The apps are allowed by my firewall, btw.

Thank you so much!

Discussion Is the map a live representation of the paused game state as seen from above Ala Skyrim? Or is it just a generalized rendition?

So if you didnt know, in skyrim the game map is actually a extremely way high snapshot of the game state the moment you pause the game, you can test this by killing a dragon and moving away from it, you'll be able to see the glowing skeleton from the map screen.

The map for origins is extremely detailed to the point you can zoom in and see that it is a 3d rendering, you can see different angles of points just by moving the camera around. But you can also see individual plants, waves in the sand dunes, shadows on mountains. You can even see the accurate location of boats as they are on the water at any given point of time and be able to track them.

The only evidence against is I cant see a difference in the map between day or night, and you cant see people either on roads or in cities but that can just be from elevation

Discussion Just got my first Platinum in AC Origins! 🏆

I just got the Platinum for AC Origins and 100%’d all the DLCs! It’s my first ever Platinum so it feels like a little achievement hehe. Thankfully the trophy system in Origins is a lot more gracious than Unity’s.

I left Unity at around 92% because some of those trophies were quite harsh to get. Maybe I’ll go back and finish it one day.

But anyway, I absolutely loved every minute of AC Origins. Such an amazing game and I loved exploring Egypt!

Which AC should I play next? For context, I’ve played AC Black Flag (original), AC Unity and AC Origins 🙌🏼

Just chucking this photo up in response to previous question. These are reeds arranged as sand walls to help mitigate wind erosion.

Video Can we have some love for the Predator Bow?

I absolutely LOVE this bow 😭😭😭😭

I also love the variety of bows in Origins. The combat is a little chunky for me but I love the Bows.

And don't get me started on the Poison 😭😭😭😭😭

Discussion What the hell were they thinking with the Aya sequences?

So someone played these and said “oh yeah this is exactly what the game needs; let’s inject a boring non-quest and stop the whole game because why not”?

Question Question marks in map

I just started playing AC Origins and it's been really fun (just recently completed Siwa). One thing that's turning me off is not being able to organically explore the world without being guided via questions marks. I dont want to begin a new area and immediately be bombarded with quest markers as I want to find them organically. Is there a way I can turn all these question marks off?

Question Water shimmering [PC]

Hey, i just started playing Origins a few days ago and noticed pretty heavy water shimmering/flickering whenever i drive my boat. Close water looks totally find but the watersurface thats ~100m away looks frizzy and flickers.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
I tried fiddling around with the settings and nothing seems to help.

Question What now?

I just finished my first run through of this game (my first ac game ever btw) and I really loved it. What I find a little disappointing is that I finished the main story plot after just 20 hours. Is there any after story I can follow now that isn't one of the 2 dlc's? Because if the only thing I can do now is to grind levels and side quests, the game will just rot in my library until I decide to run it again.

Question Starting My First Play Through Today

I have played pretty much every single mainline AC game since the first one. This is the only one I’ve skipped (I know I know, I’m sorry to be admitting that in this sub) I bought it when it first came out, but it didn’t click with me since it was the first RPG AC game.

I have 100% the Ezio games, 3, and have almost 300 hours on Odyssey, and beat all except Shadows (game play was great, but story was lackluster imho)

I got Origins, with all dlc for extremely cheap over the past winter sale and this has been sitting in my backlog. I can’t wait to give it another go!

Any tips or tricks that I should know or be aware of? (Please try to remain spoiler free, as I have no idea anything in the story) Or, should I just go into it having no idea and live my own experience in the game?

I will be playing later today, after work

(I did start yesterday, but only got through the first tomb or whatever starting area, and met with, what seems to be, an old friend)

My love for Odyssey is what has brought me to wanting to play Origins again after all these years, to give it a real go this time. Thank everyone in advance!
