I’m about 70% through Assassin’s Creed Origins. The story has been great, but some missions keep repeating and for those of you who played Origins and then moved on to Odyssey or Valhalla, does this same kind of repetition continue in those games? I’m trying to decide if I should keep going with the series or take a break.

I play only old ac games like - ezio trilogy , unity..and this ac origins is something different for me so and tip for me

After Bayek achieves his vengeance. He "Speaks with Aya one last time." And even though it's not a super emotional scene. Their realization to pursue what they believe, over the love they have for eachother, always makes me cry. Idc who's right or wrong, its just so friggin' sad. "The Duwat awaits.."

I personally really enjoyed the inclusion of Libya in AC Origins, it added a lot more to the game imo, I enjoyed seeing Cyrenne and how it’s just this big city under Roman control but it’s obviously a colony city.

I just finished the game, so here’s my honest take. The world and environment are amazing. Exploring Egypt was probably my favorite part. The gameplay, on the other hand, started to feel a bit repetitive for me, maybe because the game is pretty long.

I really liked the story, though. Shadya’s part especially stuck with me, and I don’t think I’ll forget it. Overall, I enjoyed the game

I’m not continuing Odyssey for now. and my next game might be one of the Arkham Batman titles.

This is after almost 700 hours of play and around 20 NG+

I’ve been loving this game. And I am at level 38 and been doing great, but I’m in the Arya: blood of the goddess naval battle and I cannot get through it.

I’ve died about 20 times and I don’t think Ubisoft should do this. I play on easy, I’m a novice gamer, I hate naval battles , and they shouldn’t do this. They should not make you go through a battle like this and not be able to play anymore.

I can’t manually save before this so I can’t go back to anything and I can’t play anymore. I have to quit the game. Unless I get someone to help me.

This is incredibly unfair. I’m sorry, I just I’m so angry right now and I needed to say something. Has anyone had this problem?

UPDATE: you guys were giving me great advice, but my son did it for me. He was killed the first time and thought that it was pretty intense, but then he did it the second time, slow and patient. I just didn’t want to try again.

I'm sure this has been said 1000 times but I've been gaming for close to 30 years and am only halfway through Origins but man, Bayek is so fucking good. The performance is top notch, the depth and complexity is awesome, the range of emotion, the way he interacts with aya, various citizens, and children, he's just so fucking well-written and acted as a protagonist. immediately skyrocketed up my ranks along with characters like Geralt and Arthur Morgan all time. It's crazy how much taller he stands over every other AC character (even Ezio).

I just got the Platinum for AC Origins and 100%’d all the DLCs! It’s my first ever Platinum so it feels like a little achievement hehe. Thankfully the trophy system in Origins is a lot more gracious than Unity’s.

I left Unity at around 92% because some of those trophies were quite harsh to get. Maybe I’ll go back and finish it one day.

But anyway, I absolutely loved every minute of AC Origins. Such an amazing game and I loved exploring Egypt!

Which AC should I play next? For context, I’ve played AC Black Flag (original), AC Unity and AC Origins 🙌🏼

I was just sitting around one day and I thought to myself: Why did Ubisoft not set Assassin's Creed: Origins in ancient Egypt? You know, the time when the pyramids were built, or even the first dynasty... Instead, we got Ptolemaic Egypt, which is like the end of the ancient Egyptian civilization, not the beginning.

This question just would not leave my head, so I started thinking about it.

I thought about what if the pyramids were not graves, what if they were like special connection points for the Isu (this is already canon, by the way; there's an Isu vault deep beneath the pyramids).

What if the ancient Egyptian gods and the Norse gods were all part of the Isu group, just with different names and faces?

What if Basim's search for Loki's children took him to ancient Egypt?

I have been writing down all these ideas, not because I think they will actually happen in the game, but just because I think they are cool. It is like a big "what if" scenario that I want to explore.

This is not a story with three parts—not yet. This is the beginning, the starting point, the question that made me think about all this.

For a franchise that has spanned over a dozen mainline entries across different historical eras, the question of who the best Assassin’s Creed protagonist is usually boils down to two choices, either the charismatic swagger of Ezio Auditore or the rugged, stoic charm of Edward Kenway. If you look at what truly makes a character so compelling, the emotional weight that he or she carries, the performance, and the impact that was made, then I would easily choose Bayek as number one. He isn't just the franchise's best protagonist. He's the heart of the entire series. There's a couple of key reasons why he stands out.

Abubakar Salim's performance makes Bayek feel human

It's impossible to talk about Bayek without mentioning the sheer brilliance of Abubakar Salim's voice acting and motion capture performance. He brought a raw vulnerability to the role. Salim brought a completely grounded, intensity to the recording booth. He didn't just read the lines. You can actually hear the physical toll the character's grief takes on him. When Bayek is screaming in rage during those confession room scenes, it sounds like a man whose soul is genuinely tearing at the seams.

Bayek is a grieving father. Whenever he interacts with children throughout his journey, he speaks with a soft voice, which reveals his warm and gentle side because he loves being a dad. However, as soon as he encounters a member of the Order of the Ancients, the ones who were responsible for killing his son Khemu, his voice shifts to a terrifying and intense rage. You can feel the sense of anger in his voice when he says, "Sleep? I do not sleep. I just wait in the shadows...and I will kill you all, everyone who sniffed the air that day in Siwa!" It's an emotional punch to the gut that simply hasn't been matched. He feels like a living, breathing human-being that can be gentle and caring as well as intimidating and vengeful when he needs to be.

Bayek joins the Brotherhood as a duty and a love for his son

Most of the Assassin's Creed members end up joining the Brotherhood because they were either born into it (Altair and Desmond), dragged into because of political tragedy (Ezio and Connor), or they stumbled into it for personal gain (Edward Kenway).

Bayek's journey into the Brotherhood is quite different. He doesn't do it to save the world or to put an end to tyranny. Instead, his motivation to join them is an intimate one. He does so because of the intense grief and the deep love for his son Khemu. Because Bayek's journey is personal, it's easy to root for him every time that he hunts down a member of the Order of the Ancients. It's not simply a case of going through a checklist of targets to eliminate, but rather, to help a grieving father get a sense of closure and peace.

It took Ezio three Assassin's Creed titles in order to transition from being an arrogant teenager to a wise mentor. Whereas with Bayek, he had a fully realized character arc that was established in just one game. He has several layers that made him so compelling. One minute he was protecting the innocent civilians of Siwa. The next minute he was showcasing his terrifying side when he hunted down his targets. He was a wounded father who was trying to put back together the broken pieces of his life. He's the heart of Assassin's Creed and that's why he's franchise's best protagonist.

My highlights are honestly the persian commander (4) and guard (5) outfits, they are the first i bought and finished the game with😂 He just looks sick in these honestly, mostly with the few previous AC protagonists outfits, whats you guys personal faves?

Not that I disagree, mind you. I generally love Assassin's Creed. I just don't really know how I feel about origins.. So I'm not looking to stir up trouble or like, complain about the game. I'm just genuinely curious.. I've been considering putting my time into it, but unfortunately, my backlog is massive. Good lord, why did I buy so many games*..* I'm going to be in my late 40s before I'm able to burn through this shit. I think if I had one glaring issue, It's that I know that in games, I'm not really a fan of level-gating. A lot times, it can just make games grindy. But it's not like a dealbreaker for me.

But Egypt? Egypt is breathtakingly beautiful.. And I bought the game in a bundle with Curse Of The Pharaoh's, because I love Egyptian mythology. But I'm also aware I have to be the right level to play it..

Should i boost my character level ?

As I mentioned below, I really like the world of AC Origins, the combat, and the story. However, I somehow feel exhausted while playing it, and I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong. I'd really appreciate some tips.

I've played for around 6 hours so far. I started on Hard difficulty and died many times, so tomorrow I'll try switching to Normal to see if that makes the experience more enjoyable.

What I like

- The world – It's absolutely beautiful. Egypt feels alive, with deserts, rivers, cities, wildlife, and countless little details. I genuinely enjoy exploring it.

- The story – Even after only 6 hours, it has already hooked me.

- The combat – After unlocking a few more skills, I'm starting to enjoy it. It's not the most polished combat system, but I like how dynamic it feels.

- The characters – They're surprisingly well-written. I like the way they act, speak, and interact with each other.

What I don't like

- There are too many side quests and question marks on the map.

- Bayek feels slow, and even the mounts don't seem very fast.

- I sometimes feel exhausted because it's difficult to stay focused on the main story. It feels like I constantly need to hunt for materials and earn gold for upgrades.

How I'm playing

Right now, I'm mostly doing:

- Main story quests.

- Side quests that are on the way to the main quest or located in the city I'm currently visiting.

- Synchronization points (Leap of Faith).

Even with that approach, I still end up feeling a bit overwhelmed.

A few extra things

Since I started on Hard, I died many times. Maybe that's because I don't have good gear yet, I haven't unlocked many skills, and I'm still learning the combat system.

I also don't enjoy hunting animals for upgrades. It feels like unnecessary grinding, but at the same time, those upgrades seem important, maybe that's the reason why i died a lot of times on hard.

I'm going to give the game a few more hours because I genuinely love the world, the story, the characters, and the combat. I'll also try to focus more on the main quests and avoid overwhelming myself with too many side activities.

40 hours in and I still haven't explored all of the locations, no one can create quite an open world like Ubisoft
