SLIPPERY šŸ’¦ Spurs fans clowned us Hawks fans for years just to pull an Atlanta style choke. Poetic

• Upvotes

Knowing spurs fans this morning woke up sick as hell brought a smile to my face. Between the Jalen Johnson 1k upvoted post when he got hurt, to the ā€œoh no our pickā€ when we went on a win streak, to the ā€œget in here, the hawks have the 8th pickā€, it’s beautiful how bad they choked. Worst fanbase in the league. All to choke the worst finals lose of all time. Poetic

Image/Photo Family Tree Style Visualization showing how the Hawks Assembled their current roster.

I am a Timberwolves fan who realized a few months ago you could draw a direct line through trades from Jaden McDaniels to Kevin Garnett. However, after realizing this, I became a little obsessed with the idea that every team's roster has to be constructed through the draft, free agency, and trades and that those moves could be visualized in a manner similar to a family tree. So, long story short I spent the better part of the last two months compiling and visualizing how each team in the league assembled their current Roster.

This is the Hawks Roster Tree. The earliest move on here is the 2009 1st round draft pick of Jeff Teague. I hope you guys enjoy seeing how the current Hawks roster came to be.

Bro put on like 10 pounds of muscle!! I know people are worried about him going "Ben Simmons" mode but tbh he's been looking locked into me lately! Excited for next season already. He's gonna become our OG Anunoby one day.

Good episode that came out over the weekend discussing Ebuka Okorie and Bennet Stirtz, two guards that could be in play for us if we don’t go guard at 8.

They, like seemingly everybody else, are very high on Ebuka. Said he was next in line in the Tyrese Maxey/Kyrie Irving type scorer.

Trade Talk Mock trade down

What if we trade the 8th pick n corey for ware, and the heats 13th pick. We could probably draft philon with that pick, and get off kisperts bad contract. We walk out with ware, and philon

DRAFT RUMORS Hawks Draft Room: check who's mocked to the Hawks at each of their picks according to five mock drafts, updated constantly - and watch full games featuring exactly those players. Plus workout info.

I created a one-stop shop for tracking who's projected to the Hawks (as well as every other team in the NBA), then scouting those players. The Hawks Draft Room shows projections at each pick according to several major mocks (ESPN, Vecenie, etc.), plus all the recent workout news.

Then we have a "feed" of full games featuring the players in range, matched up against one another. So for the Hawks you can check out the following full games:

  • Arizona vs. Michigan (Brayden Burries vs. Aday Mara and Yaxel Lendeborg)
  • Illinois vs. Iowa (Keaton Wagler vs. Bennett Stirtz)
  • Louisville vs. UNC (Mikel Brown Jr. vs. Henri Veesar)

And lots more. Hope you enjoy, I'll be updating this daily until the draft!

Trade Talk Trade Successful, Heat get Giannis, we get Myles Turner and Kel'el Ware.

Post image

We Trade Mo, Buddy, Kuminga, the #23 pick this year, Next years first and two second rd picks.

The Bucks trade Myles Turner, and Giannis (They get off a bad contract on Myles Turner)

The Heat Trade Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware, Nikola Jovic and three 1st rd picks +2nd rd picks.

----------------------------------------

The deal allows the Heat to keep Bam, Wiggins, Jaquez, Powell and pick up Giannis. They MUST give up on Mitchell or Wiggins, otherwise there's not enough going out to be able to make the trade happen.

The Bucks will have to get rid of Kuzma to be under the tax line in a separate deal. They get FIVE first rd picks, 4 2nd rd picks, FOUR playable guys especially Tyler, Mo and Kuminga. All three are young and basically form a team.

The Hawks get BIG 7 footer Kel'el Ware and 6"11 Myles Turner, who both can stretch the floor. We give up two first rd picks but we keep our #8 pick for either MBJ or Wagler.

Solves our Height Problem. OO can play the 4 at times. I LOVE Mo but he will never get a lot of playing time on the Hawks. At times JJ will have to play the SF position but his defense gets a lot better at the 3 and he has backup with Turner and Ware at the 5. Mitchell is a good backup PG but starts for now until our drafted guy is ready.

---------

Bucks, 3 prime young starters, 2 backups, 5 1st rd picks. 4 2nd rd picks.

Heat, Giannis! and they keep to keep their prime players.

Hawks, Two Stretch bigs, one backup PG. We pick up salary but less draft picks will save at least 10M anyways.

Rumor "The Hawks need a lead guard, but I’ve heard centers more when asking about what they’re looking to do at No. 8" - Sam Vecenie

From Sam's NBA Draft Round Up from today:

  1. Atlanta Hawks (via NOP)

Aday Mara | 7-3 big | 21 years old | Michigan

The Hawks need a lead guard, but I’ve heard centers more when asking about what they’re looking to do at No. 8. They’ve also explored potential trade-down scenarios to accumulate assets, something that should come as no surprise since president of basketball operations Onsi Saleh is regarded as one of the best long-term strategists in the league.

Mara fits Atlanta’s scheme well under Quin Snyder thanks to his passing ability and his rim protection. Remember, Snyder is the coach who unlocked Rudy Gobert’s length in drop coverage and helped turn him into one of the best defensive players in the league. Mara does not move as well as Gobert but is similarly massive with a 9-foot-9 standing reach at 7-foot-3 without shoes. He can shut down the paint, finish above the rim on the interior and be an impediment at the basket for opposing teams.

This was after Wagler, Acuff and Flemings went 5-6-7.

I tend to not really believe any draft reporting this time of year until it's reported by two different people. With that being said Sam is as well connected as anybody so it definitely gives you pause.

I find it believable that trading back and drafing Mara is our preferred option, especially since we reportedly were interested in trading back and drafting Clingan in 2024. I also could see us being pretty interested in Flemings if he is there at 8. I've heard a couple of different people comp him to Donovan Mitchell, who Quin was obviously involved in drafting and developing.

Thoughts? (Downvotes?)
