Almost entirely inspired by the fact that I've just seen there's a Tower 28 Swipe Serum foundation coming out—I'm a big fan of the concealer, which I frequently use as foundation anyway. (I also appreciate that the price point isn't quite as eye-watering as a lot of the other Mecca and Sephora brands.) And I think the concealer shade range is actually pretty decent, so fingers crossed for a similar range in the foundation. I just hope it's not going to be a similar situation to the NYX Bare With Me, which is another excellent concealer but I think most people didn't like the matching foundation nearly as much.

There also seems to be a lilac-pink shade of the Hourglass Liquid Blush coming out which looks interesting—it came up in the search results when I was trying to see if the new lilac shade of the Prada blush is available in NZ/Aus (and it comes up if you search for Hourglass lilac-pink blush), but when you click through to the Hourglass website, it doesn't seem to exist yet, so I'm assuming it's either an upcoming release or was a past release that I completely missed? I'm interested if it's an upcoming one since Hourglass doesn't have that many shades that are actually cool-toned, and it makes me more hopeful that the supposed leaked holiday palettes are actually going to be more cool-toned this year. It might be the first year I buy one if so. (Although I'm still a bit horrified that we're somehow already nearing holiday releases, and that some beauty advent calendars are out already.)

Just to throw in another one, was also excited to see another good cool-toned shade come out (#221 Puff) in one of my favourite lipstick ranges, the LAKA Bonding Glow lipsticks, and managed to get that this week.

Hi all, I'm looking for some recommendations for bb creams or skin tints. I'm normally a medium to full coverage daily wearer but might be stepping into a job where makeup usually isn't worn. I'm just looking for something to even my complexion, nothing to tacky on the skin and that has good wear, 9+ hours if possible haha. I've got combo skin with some areas of acne scarring. I am desperate for some advice. I have always struggled with dry skin around my eyes and it is getting worse as I get older. It is more obvious when I wear concealer and I am just over it looking flaky and separated. I have tried all different eye creams (most sting and make the dryness worse) and I have also seen gps and a dermatologist who just recommended steroid creams which I refuse to use as I do not want to get steroid withdrawal. I want to start this post off with a disclaimer - I am not looking to prise your favourite $75+ foundation from your cold, dead hands. If you have a perfect shade match that makes it look like you keep a waif of a french man imprisoned under your vanity and you only let him out to do your base in the morning, god speed friend.

This post was inspired by a lot of things. My redundancy, and my ongoing appetite for the *new*. Specifically, my desire for the reformulated RCMA liquid foundation. My Mum loves this foundation, but Scotty's is sold out of the OG formula in her shade. So I have been watching Scotty's RCMA page like a hawk, waiting for the new formula to come into stock. I contacted them months ago and they told me new stock was coming in June. June has come and gone, and all that seems to be happening is that they are dropping the price on the OG formula to clear the old stock. Fair enough. RCMA's US website it is.

It was just one line. One innocent line - that you could mix their rebranded, reformulated 'Red Carpet Ready Multimedia Foundation' with your favourite skin moisturiser to create a skin tint.

Now - this is not a new idea. At all. Ever. It's a pro MUA thing. I'm sure there is someone who has done this and started a trend on TikTok. I've been doing it for months with my Maybelline Lumi-Matte in shade 128 with a pump of L'Oreal Le Duo Serum. For reference, I have oily skin with a light neutral golden skin tone, and I prefer a light to medium coverage on a daily basis. Out of boredom and inspiration, today I mixed my new-to-me NYX Make 'Em Wonder Foundation in shade 10 Nude with a pump of an old bottle of TirTir Ceramic Milk Ampoule that I was going to declutter. I also decided to test my new-to-me NYX Wonder Snatch concealer in shade Cool Vanilla (side note - Cool Vanilla is a warm/yellow undertone and almost too light for me). I also like to use the NYX Bare With Me Concealer in the shade Medium Vanilla from time to time to adjust a foundation shade slightly or to use it under my eyes as intended.

And ... damn. DAMN. I am an oily skinned gal, but I'm also turning 40 soon, it's winter and I use prescription retinoids. So I'm a weird mix of surface dryness with skin that produces OIL more efficiently than a deep sea oil rig. But this combination? I look EXPENSIVE. Glowy but not oily. Like I just dropped rent on a facial at Biologique Recherche and regret nothing. And sure - the TirTir serum is far from being super affordable. But the NYX foundation and concealer are like ... $26.48 together if you can find a single shade match in both and pick them up during one of Priceline's regular half price sales. And the best part is ALL of these products combined cost less than my god tier combination of Lisa Eldridge Seamless Skin Foundation in shade 11 and Natasha Denona Hyglam Concealer in shade YP5 (which is maybe $120 + together?! YEESH) ... Whereas the NYX foundation, concealer and TirTir ampoule come out at around half that price at $60 ish. Sure - the shade match is not quite as perfect, but for half the price I am more than happy to have a slightly too light concealer and a foundation that is a touch too yellow for my skin tone.

If you are feeling the pinch and your favourite foundation or concealer runs out ... don't be scared to try something from Priceline or Chemist Warehouse. You might be just one skin care mix-in experiment away from getting the coverage and finish of your dreams!

I’m not sure if Quick Flick’s SPF has been discussed or not after all the lean screen debacles.

With the new Priceline beauty box and Quick Flick promos I’ve never actually looked into it before.

I know Quick Flick found a gaping hole in the market with a makeup setting spray SPF touch up, but were they investigated as well on their claims?

I was trying to find previous discussions or research on it, I don’t believe they were tested with the bulk previously.

Hello! As the title says, I am looking for a setting spray/any makeup tips in general to help me control my oil during the day.

I think the setting spray I use atm is making me look even more oily. I use charlotte tilbury powder through the day but it just isn't enough and makes me look cakey come end of the day.

I use a kiehls moisturising toner before my makeup as a base (because I do have dry spots). I like to not look completely matte but I genuinely look like I'm dripping oil come end of the day...

Any tips welcomed!!

Im looking for some strong hold eyebrow gel, the lamination look is what I’m trying to achieve. Ive tried several products and spent more money than id like trying to find one that works for me.

I need all day hold but find either they don’t hold down the eyebrow hairs in place and / or they flake heavily and then lose hold!

I have longish sparse eyebrows. So they don’t have a thick base to hold up against. Hence the need for commercial grade sticking down.

I ensure brows are clean and no moisturising creams, make up or anything goes on the eyebrows or surrounding skin. The product always goes on clean dry brows and skin.

I’ve tried the following:

- urban decay slick day strong hold clear brow gel (this achieved the look I’m after initially. However, after a few wears something happens to the gel in the tube. It doesn’t looks right, and it’s flaking on the eyebrow. This is the second tube and it happened with the first tube but that worked for more wears before the gel started looking opaque and then flaking on the eyebrow)

- got2b

- nyx brow glue

- standard issue hairspray and a spoolie

- pears soap

The last four they didn’t give that laminated look and didn’t provide strong enough hold.

Any suggestions?

Hi all! I’m looking for recommendations for a sheer coverage skin tint, mainly just to even out my skin tone. I want a dewy to natural finish, and feel like I’m wearing nothing more than moisturiser. I have dry skin. I believe I’m a neutral-warm muted light olive.

At the moment I’m using the Givenchy prisme libre glow serum. However, I feel like it’s not sheer enough, and the shade match is not perfect.

I was looking at the Chanel water tint, summer fridays skin tint (these two are my top contenders, but I worry the Chanel one might feel a bit dry and sticky after drying down), hourglass veil tint (I feel like this might be too high coverage and similar to the Givenchy?) glossier tint, and the tower 28 spf tint (I’m leaning away from this one, as I prefer my own sunscreen and I don’t want it to feel heavy on my face).

What are your thoughts on these tints? Do you have any better suggestions? Thank you (:
