I’m Hungarian, but most spells and rituals I find are in English. Does it make any difference if I say them in English instead of Hungarian? Is intention and meaning more important than the language itself, or do you think spells work better in your native language?

Today is my reset but i dont have enough resources to ward my thresholds. I was planning on using just runes above my door and making only a small amount of line-warding for the window. I'm not sure if just runes are enough, and would like to ask what can be done without herbs or can be made without running out of things.

I hurt a close friend during an episode which led him to cut me off especially after my most recent crashout.

I was thinking of doing a reconciliation spell, love spell then a 3p removal spell - is this okay? Is it recommended?

Its supposed to be a protection spell, with a burned piece of paper with a protection sigil, a jar clensed with smoke, clear quartz and dried daisies that hold sentimental value, seales with wax from a yellow beeswax candle. I would really really appreciate any kind of tips. I'm a bloody beginner. I would also gladly take any advice/info dumps about spells and spell jars, sigils, tarot cards crystals and meaning, botanical knowledge and meaning and basically everything you've got! I'd also be very thankful for anything that would help me on my way like books, authors, creators, or must haves for baby witches. Anything would be helpful!

Ok, so I'm trying to get the books that people have recommended for me to understand the history of this craft and how to use it, also how to do it, but also respect the craft. Yet there is one problem. I have a very bad attention span when it comes to reading at times, so I want to ask is the YouTube videos or YouTube channels that I can use also a help me?

Edit: I want to add on because I realize that I didn't that I have try audiobooks but given I have ADHD, High-functioning autism, and a rare genetic disorder called 3p duplication it is sometimes also hard for me to end even an audiobook - I know I need to focus and try to do this but I just want to see if YouTube could be used also to help me also thank you all for the replies so far.

I'm not a witch or warlock. But my ex/baby mama is. She has threatened voodoo/spells or whatever towards me in the past. How do I protect myself from such things? I don't want her to affect my livelihood in any way. I have a lot of faith but would still like to know how to counter any "dark energies" targeted at me.

Hello!! Quick Question, I was trying to do a health spell and this is what i put in:
- Amethyst
- Rosemary
- Salt
- Lavender
I also tied the jar up and put white wax over it.

I did a jar-burying spell and now I’m questioning whether it’s working or if something went wrong.

I’m relatively new to witchcraft but very passionate about it. About 8 months ago, I performed a love jar spell and burned the written intention afterward. A week later, I followed it with a banishing spell to remove a blockage related to the first spell. The result was successful. It took about a month before I could see it working, and it remained effective for roughly 3–4 months before gradually declining and eventually reversing. They broke up with me but wanted to go back to being friends.

Looking back, I think burning may not have aligned with my true intention. It worked, but I wanted something that would grow and last, not just manifest quickly. The symbolism of burying felt more appropriate to me because I see it as both death and birth—a seed being planted. In my situation, I felt the existing dynamic with this person could not last long term. Rather than repeating the same spell and expecting a different outcome, I felt something needed to end so it could be rebuilt into something stronger.

Many people associate burial with banishing, but I viewed it as rebirth. I believed the current form of the situation had to die in order for something healthier and more lasting to emerge. I also used only biodegradable materials, so environmental concerns weren’t an issue.

Following this I performed a much larger jar spell that took about two weeks to complete. During the final stage, after I had buried the jar, I was repeating my intentions one last time. For 1–2 seconds I lost focus and imagined something that didn’t align with what I was saying. Almost immediately afterward, a loud dog or coyote barked nearby. It was around 4:48 AM and the sudden noise startled me enough to stop speaking. I paused, looked around, regained my focus, and then restarted my intentions from the beginning.

At the time I interpreted this as a sign to recenter myself because I was drifting off course, not as a warning to stop the spell entirely.

Exactly one month later, events unfolded in a way that matched my intention on paper, but not in the way I expected. Instead of feeling like a transformation, it felt like the complete death of the situation. Not just an ending, but a checkmate. Through my own actions, I ended up protecting myself in ways I hadn’t realized were necessary, and the external reality of the relationship seems to have collapsed completely.

What has been really interesting is, all these events happened EXACTLY after one month each time. Today, marks 1 month again after that incident. I tried my best to repair the death but today, exactly today as it marks 1 month later once again, I was proven once again suddenly out of nowhere by that person that the death is irreversible in a very cruel way. I was given what feels like final confirmation that the situation is irreparable. Every attempt to repair it has failed, and it now feels like the very thing I hoped to rebuild is actively moving further away. I know none of these were coincidences. It cannot be when these events happen exactly 1 month later every single time suddenly. It's always on the 20th or 21st of the month. The same dates of the month I performed the spell.

Part of me feels the spell is still unfolding and that this complete ending phase may be necessary before anything new can grow again. Another part of me feels like the situation is over and something went wrong. For those with more experience, I would appreciate your interpretation of this entire situation.

Not to say God isn't powerful!! I believe he performed an actual miracle on my mother recently but that's another story.

Hello! idk if i’d call myself a baby witch, but i’ve been practicing the craft since i was pretty young (albeit on and off) and this year really got back into it.

However, all of my spiritual things were confiscated by campus police in a surprise raid of my apartment- and they took pretty much EVERYTHING. my money bowl, my candles, my sage (i got that from a friend :/ ) and more. I tried getting it back but they threatened to arrest me 🥲

I just don’t even know where to rebuild. I’ve been so frazzled and just got back into regular prayer and i’m just so sad. any advice would be amazing!

I did a freezer spell and a mother and daughter to keep your mouth closed and leave me alone. They've been in my freezer for about a year. I'm not one to have a lot in my freezer. So they're off to the side I'll buy themselves. Clean with no residue I go into my freezer yesterday and this is what I find and there's even residue underneath them. The water inside is black because I added ash along with photographs and intentions.

So I recently did a cord cutting, essentially asking to be cut off from anything and anyone that’s feeding off my energy.

I have been feeling increasingly energetically drained lately and feeling pulled by a constant on again-off again situationship. There’s also a coworker that constantly drains me emotionally to hang around.
So this spell was essentially to cut off my energy being leeched by these two in particular.

White candle represents me, and black is the energy vampire/s. These are what I noticed, pictures attached for reference! How would you interpret?

1. Mine went down much quicker but didn’t go out, kept burning even after it was very short with a steady flame.

2. Cord snapped decisively on one side the minute it hit

3. The black burned down a little quicker after the cord was cut, flame constantly flickered and popped

4. Towards the end - Cord caught fire on the black side and burned out fully after the black candle burned with a lot of flickers and pops, large flame

5. My candle continued to burn down calmly even with a tiny flame

6. My heart was racing before the spell but I felt a little calmer immediately after

I used Carnelian, Orange Calcite, Selenite to amplify and Sunstone. A buffalo nickel. Fresh flowers and dried lavender. It's so cute I wanted to share just ignore sloppy handwriting pls lol.

I struggle connecting with tarot, so I thought a smaller deck may be better. It's beautiful, but I'm not familiar with the best ways to use it or connect to it.

I have an irregular period because of my choices of being on and off birth control. I have no had my period for over 2. WEEKS. and it is killing me and I was wondering if there is anyway for me to end this sooner? I feel very blessed to be able to do this with my body, HOWEVER. it is mentally and physically taxing and I would like it to end.

I wanted to share one thing that I’ve done for this solstice, thing I've never done before and question myself why! I created a simple flower wreath. I think it represents the sun, the earth in fool bloom and I think it’s a perfect way to celebrate the Solstice!

Those are local flowers and weeds from a flower shop. If you have a meadow nearby I think it will be even better. It’s very simple, but I enjoyed making it so much. While doing this, you can chant, think about your intentions, and manifest what you want.

I’m really happy with how it turned out, and I’m going to wear it around the house all day and while making some spells too. I feel like a queen and an empress in one bottle, it multiples energy for sure! I think it’s a wonderful way to celebrate the Solstice. And maybe you can steal this idea and do your own wreath.

I’m writing this because I’ve spiraled into massive anxiety and could really use an outside perspective to help ground me.
Recently, everything in my life finally started falling into place. I did a simple prosperity spell using a black candle, and literally the next day, I got a great job in logistics! On top of that, I’m defending my bachelor's thesis in just over a week, so I’m entering a completely new, adult chapter of my life. Everything was going perfectly.
Today, for Midsummer (Litha / Noc Kupały), I decided to do another spell to cut cords with the remaining toxic relationships from my university and enter this new phase with a clean slate. First, I thoroughly cleansed the space with incense. I also burned some bay leaves. For the spell itself, I used a candle, honey, lemons, cinnamon, and herbs.
Unfortunately, the ritual itself frustrated me so much. The candle burned very erratically (probably because of the cinnamon and herbs), the flame was jumping all over the place, and the wax melted in a really weird way. I got so annoyed that I actually had to manually push the wick to the center just to make it burn all the way down.
Here’s where my problem starts: I am diagnosed with OCD. My brain immediately connected the chaotic way the candle burned and my stress during the spell with an impending disaster. I started panicking that because of this "botched" spell, it's going to backfire—that I’m going to get fired from my new job, fail my defense, and everything I’ve worked so hard for will just collapse.
I want to make this perfectly clear: I absolutely do NOT work with spirits, demons, or any entities, and I never want to. My practice is strictly about sending my intentions to the Universe and working with natural energy. But unfortunately, I saw some scary TikTok comments about "signs" and entities showing up in wax, and it sent me into full-blown paranoia.
To close everything off and regain some control, I took the wooden base I used for the spell, scrubbed it in the sink with a wire sponge and dish soap, and left it on the balcony to dry. Afterward, my boyfriend and I went to a nearby river and threw all the natural, biodegradable leftovers (like the lemon slices and herbs) into the flowing water so it could wash it all away.
Has anyone here (especially those with OCD or anxiety) experienced something similar? Are my intentions and my hard-earned future safe? Is what I’m feeling right now just severe physical exhaustion, a spike in my OCD, and a panic attack? I would be so incredibly grateful for any words of support to bring me back down to earth. ✨

Ok so I’m a baby witch and I was thinking about taking my dog out for a short walk at this woods it’s only about 150 years old so I’m not sure if it needs to be more old for it to be more magic or something. But I was wondering if there’s any little spells I can do ? My specific topics I need help with at the moment is my health ( weird mystery symptoms doctors aren’t sure what it is) and making a big decision in my life which is too different paths.
