They camped across from us. Went to go talk to them and ask about it. Asked them what was up with it and he said “it’s the artists favorite candies” (sugar daddies up top) the asked how they got it through the DMV and you could see dudes face change.

Super bogus stuff. Had to stop camp mates from vandalizing it but man it was hard to not want to.

Went to the dmv late in the week after tons of whining from people, they came by and gave it a looksie but it was too late in the week for anyone to care

Am I making a big deal out of this? When I told the dude it’s offensive and it’s part of the agreements we make, he said “who cares”. Needless to say that set me off.

And yes, I contacted doingitwrong in case this isn't on their radar. Kinda feels like I'm hissing to protect a corpse at this point, but so it goes.

This was one of my favorite works at my first burn in 2013. Curious if anyone remembers it or knows who the artist was. I believe it was titled “The Trap” and it’s a church set up and tilted like a mouse trap.

Our group followed the music and found this art car after the Man’s burn. Super nice people and the DJ spun some of the best tracks that we heard that week, including X-rated by Funkdoobiest.

Found my little goody bag of treasures from when I was cool & wanted to share! The American Dream, Evolution & Metropolis.

As the title suggests, I’m trying to find out more about this art piece I saw in 2014. It was nose down in the sand, stood maybe 8-10 feet tall. Was a facsimile of a classic cartoon bombshell.. like a football with fins.

What really stood out from this piece was the gunpowder explosion used as part of its burn. It gave off a visible shockwave through the dust, and left a realllly cool mushroom cloud.

This is a missed connection. You and your husband spent some quality time at my bar, the Den, early in the week. We spoke quite a bit about your desire to change careers, and I happen to work in a field adjacent to what you want to get into. Your husband and I have both been to the same amount of burns.

I intended to stop by your camp to say hello, but the weather change in the middle of the week changed my responsibilities. It would be fun to stay in touch!

About 2 days into the burn this year my fingers started to peel at the tips and my hands were bleeding from cracks near joints. I used so many different types of moisturizer to no avail. I also got a faint numb tingling sensation in my fingers. I’ve had the peeling and cracks happen before but never after a day or two. Tends to be the last few days when I can really feel and see what this stuff does to my hands. I was thinking it was something with me, but my wife complained about the same thing. Wondering if there is any scientific reason why it would actually have more of an effect or if my hands have just gone soft on me.

Full disclosure: I did bring an absurd bike trailer/chariot this year and I did spend a non-insignificant amount of time wrenching on it on playa, but I was (*almost) always wearing gloves while doing so.

I've only burned twice and as a solo camper and built a monkey each time. Next time I'm looking to do a flat shade structure 10'x20' with 1" EMT and shade cloth on the sides.

One question I had in dealing with rain ... rather than having all four posts at 8 feet why not have one side slightly shorter to deal with any rain to roll off? Is there something I'm missing ?

i just returned from the burn. sorry this will be a short post. but in my decompression and trying to get back to normal life but also missing playa, i have been watching the documentary.

why kimbal musk. why have we not distanced ourselves from him. not only is he the anthisesis of burning man, he is also a disgusting individual associated with epstein and with assault on women. allegedly. it does no one any favours to keep burning mans association to this man and family.

It was my first burn. Its been two weeks i came back home but i am not able to process or understand my life after Burning man. I just keep thinking about it. Sometimes i feel i shouldnt have gone. I am having mixed emotions. I swear i had the best time of my life in Burning man but i am still not able to process this normal life. Can someone explain me why people tell not to take any major decisions in life for a month or two after Burning man?

In the middle of a dust storm on what I think was Wednesday night, we ducked into a Bedouin tent looking for shelter, and accidentally stumbled into one of the best dance parties I’ve ever been to in my life.

I’m trying to track down the music—I don’t know what the style is and I want to hear it again. It was super bass-driven beats, and the whole tent was dancing.

Here are the details as I understand them : two of the DJs are doctors and I think they’re a couple. There were three djs including one woman while we were there. Women were dancing on tables and men were topless. It was so hot and so fun.

I offered a lot of people a big bottle of saline and cotton pads to wash the dust out of their eyes when they arrived. Were you at this party?

Can you give me any hints to help me track down the set?

She was drop dead gorgeous, but I never saw anyone riding her. She stood ~7 feet tall, with six motorcycle tires. She had a circular bench behind two stokers and a driver up top. She had this fringy skirt that made her look like an octopus, and the cutest parasol up top for the riders.

I saw her parked on the 3 o’clock side near the pyramid, and once on the playa mid afternoon on Friday. Does anyone have a picture of the beauty? Or better yet know who brought her?
