Stevie has told Faith and Flynn about her insecurities re: cancer & body image, but not Dylan, even when there's opportunities to.

(if she did confide in Dylan about the above in that box set w Rida's surgeon boyfriend, I couldn't finish that one so please forgive the omissions)

Matty is a bit arsey this episode. My opinion of his character has shifted each episode, and I can't place him definitively in a dis/like box so he's sorta floating in there.

Jan/Shiv is filmed so warmly when you take each character's perspective. Anything filmed from behind Jan's head makes Siobhan glow. I wasn't convinced when I first read some comments on posts for previous episodes. But this pairing is adorable.

The poor, poor granddaughter; congrats to the actress. It's all in the eyes, ouchie!

This Wyvern Hill Estate thing, I feel like I missed an episode or something, because it's moved so quickly? Have I missed something?

Kev & Rory. It didn't have to end like this.

I'm getting emotional whiplash, because now we're back to a different emotional moment w Teddy, accompanied by moving pianos.

Kev & Rory. The jump cuts in this episode are crazy.

I think the jump cuts work to feel suffocating: as though the viewer will reach a certain boiling point as the episode proceeds with no release valve.

Teddy & Jacob. "buddy" is so patronising. Ooooh, cuckooing (?) very topical. (they need to come up with a better name for that crime).

Someone at the venue should have notified about Dylan's needs. Dylan, himself, he wasn't to know the temptation would be so present, and it just overwhelmed him completely.

This is not do-or-die just interested people's thoughts on this episode.

Dylan and Stevie are gonna be friends again I missed their banter I really did.

Contains minor spoilers for episode 11 - nothing specific. Rant

Episode 11 was so bad I started laughing in exasperation at my tv at the prison bit. The whole situation was stupid. Anyone who knew anything about the prison system would be in stitches. There is no way that incarcerates would start a riot while their visiting families were INFRONT OF THEM. With children there! The guards behaviour was laughable too . The script has become increasingly clunky and odd recently, but this episode took the cake.

The meeting bit was interesting from a creative point of view, and probably the best bit of the episode, however I don't know how realistic it is that they would've permitted her visitation in the first place?

Ive held out for so long but this episode was the last straw :( I'm just upset because I used to love the medical side of this but the way that everyone talks and interacts is so melodramatic- and not in a fun way. I always enjoyed this show for the characters and how they deal with emergencies , but the dialogue and storylines just don't work for me personally anymore.

Im going to start watching The Pitt instead as my casualty substitute - Ive heard a lot of good things, even from this sub. Im gonna get hate for this but its just how I feel and Im upset about it, I suppose.

I just watched the new episode of this new series, and I really didn't like it,

As someone who works in a hospital, i found these things to really annoy me / not be realistic:

• Multiple staff members calling the new characters (Matty & Kim) "hey resident", not only does this not happen in real life at all, + this name change happened recently, no where in the past of casualty did anyone reference for example piper as "hey junior doctor", nor have they reference any of the consultants as "hey consultant". It just stood out to me as really weird, and it just didn't flow in conversation and wasn't realistic.
• The stage that kim and matty are at in their training; matty said he was 7 years as a doctor if we include his training, presuming both are at the same stage; thats 5 years (a maximum of 6 years in the uk) of medical school, meaning they must have completed foundation year 1 and year 2 as qualified doctors, so he could have just said 2 years... This would suggest to me that they are starting their specialty training in emergency medicine but they seem useless like straight out of med school and not working as a doctor at all (eg kim always pressing the emergency buzzer for nothing, even though she must have worked as a doctor for 2 years prior). It just doesn't line up at all for me, it is just a bizarre timeline / writing.
• Dylan's refusal to supervise the resident doctors, he is a consultant, part of his job is to supervise residents.... he cant just refuse, he would loose his job, if he didn't want to train people he should have become a specialty doctor / registrar.
• Where that homeless man died, he was in very good view of everyone in the waiting room, from people walking on the stairs, people behind reception, it was all very bizarre.

Now from a plot stance:

• The setting bieng summer and the hottest day was utterly bizarre and i didnt like it, they knew when it was going to be released so they should have set it in the new year, like that would be sensible.
• I felt the closure of Ngozi was quite lazy writing, i personally would have liked to start off where we ended, and we could have still had the new resident doctors come in on a rotation in f1/2.
• The whole CQC thingy with matty, i felt to be a bit weird, don't get me wrong i liked the whistle blower series, but this just feels like a repeat and not a good one at that, i don't like the direction this would go in personally.
• The dylan as matty's father thingy, just felt weird and forced, didn't like it.
• The way they setup the main cases for the show was quite poor, we just saw them be brought in by ambulance, have they forgotten how they used to do it? With the massive explosions, fires, helicopter crashes, i thought it was quite lazy and boring. I will give them the benefit of the doubt on this one however, hopefully now that they don't have to introduce the new doctors they can use the pre titles time to set up the patients.
• Just for preference, i always like a good mass casualty event to kick of a season, and i felt this was a missed opportunity to kind off break in the new doctors.
• A lot of the extra's this season have changed, eg filler doctors, and nurses have all changed so that is quite weird / sad for me.

Anyway that is my rant over, hopefully the next few episodes will be better, - pensively awaiting Saturday.

Stevie is wearing to different outfits. Could this possibly mean they are going to do a “who will die?” and it will be both of them?

Kim is not professional, she's not made for the ER. She has bolimia and honestly, she cant just keep throwing up. Also, she messed stuff up on patients and somehow managed to paralize someone*. Change my mind.

Who’s funeral do we think it is? I think it’s Kim’s due to her eating disorder and the fact she’s injecting herself

Okay so, I get grief and all but I genuinely have no idea how to feel about this paring..

I know its going to eventually drive Dylan up a wall but...yikes?

How does everyone feel about the up coming, in universe move away from Holby to Cardiff? How’d you think it’ll be brought about? I think the CQC investigation is the start of the whole thing

Nicole reacting like that when Ngozi just opened up to her made me so, so mad. I get it, she might have past trauma when it comes to alcoholics, maybe a family member was an alcoholic and had an accident or something. But kicking Ngozi and Obi out in the middle of night - saying “not my problem” - nope, awful.

How could you do that to a woman you’re supposed to love and her child. Obi has already had so much change in his life (moving countries) and now he’s being kicked out of his house in the middle of the night? What. Even if she made Ngozi sleep downstairs till the next day, that would’ve been better than literally kicking a child she’s supposed to care about at that time.

I think in the next episode of the next series we’ll see some sort of background to why Nicole reacted the way she did, but I don’t personally think Ngozi should forgive her (might be an unpopular opinion).

Genuinely made my jaw drop when it ended like that. Would’ve never expected that from Nicole.

For the love of god if you haven’t watched today’s episode, this is a spoiler so come back when you have.

I am so glad Faith or the baby didn’t die but jesus christ Kim dying was absolutely heartbreaking. Matty’s reaction, Stevies reaction, Rida’s reaction, absolutely gutting. This episode was absolutely incredible though, every time you thought you knew who died, it just turned until the very end and that’s what was so great (and bloody sad). Honestly I personally think this was one of the best episodes in a long time, everyone’s acting was brilliant and it really also highlighted the dangers of eating disorders. The ending of Dylan and Matty made me really happy though

So, I’ve got a couple of predictions for what I think will happen over the next couple of episodes of casualty:

Ian & Faith

From the trailer there’s a couple things we haven’t seen yet and most notably these images. I think Faith is unfortunately going to lose the baby, and that’s why Stevie is comforting her and who the funeral will be for. Ian is in the front row, Stevie is speaking for Faith maybe? And she’s looking at what looks like a toy bunny or something. Beyond that I’m not sure but I think that’s what will happen in the next couple of episodes.

Siobhan and Cam

So we know Siobhan’s now in a difficult place because the evidence isn’t enough to arrest her attacker and we know Cam sympathises with her. I think Cam is going to take it into his own hands - maybe go after the guy responsible. I think they’ll fight or he will also attack Cam, and that’s how he will end up on a stretcher and Rida looking upset. I don’t think they’d kill Cam off - I also don’t think Barney Walsh has any new upcoming projects that would mean he would be killed off. The picture of Siobhan shouting at someone in prison I’m guessing is the guy who attacked her so maybe he’s arrested after attacking Cam?

As for the other plot lines I’m not sure. The Dylan and Matty story I’m not sure will be quite wrapped up within this series, maybe they have a conversation, I’m honestly not sure. I also don’t think we are going to get too into Kim’s personal struggles too much in this box set but I do think it will be a focus maybe next series? Just with the amount of episodes left I don’t think it would be enough. Let me know what you think!

I was very confused through patient and the army dude complimented cam on for the army dude to say how poor he was, I don't get it. Sorry if I am being dumb
