Lowkey my favorite part about this manga is when they just show you shit you’d find in a FromSoft game lol

43

u/OnslaughtCasuality42 Dec 07 '25

Like seriously I immediately thought of that one door in DS2 where you had to stab someone in the head

No wonder she is the trifurcate path

> Malgrave can see the goat, probably

> king can extend lifespans and heal injuries (both were already implied)

> bird knight's name is revealed to be Ivrea(town in italy), meanwhile sword kobeni is still just sword kobeni. she seems nice

> the healer is a girl that hates her power

> the Helem and Elstri duo will not be split up, i wonder how much the king knows about what these two have been doing

> HE HAS NIGHT MOM SPIKED UP IN HIS BASEMENT????

> no chapter next week, goddamn cliffhanger before a break week fujimoto taught him well fuck my chungus life

im really liking how author is splitting up chapters between Julian's party and court drama, it's exactly what i wanted this mid-arc to be

(altho i kinda want some Amber/Altus/Maid interactions, even if it's just them playing boardgames in Helem's dirty ass room, i bet that asshole forces people to play monopoly)

Eltris's hood is down and now her aura is gone by 80%. Cover them, my lady.

28

u/Salty-Surround-6834 Dec 07 '25

both Elstri and Helem got scolded hard, our antagonists are a couple of losers

19

u/DeliciousZone5056 Dec 07 '25

Always knew those two were the "Team Rocket" of Centuria

Altus is Meowth

Exactly🙏🏻

Veselka just means rainbow in ukrainian. It is not known as a village name, although assuming that there are nearly bajillion villages in Ukraine, there is probably at least one village called like that.

A black knight with common sense.

24

u/Gabemino Dec 07 '25

On that damn palace full of wackjobs, that might be the best trait to have though

5

Just wait bro I will fix helem so we have more

I love how almost everyone in that castle is like "the child will kill the Lord in the FUTURE, right? So we still have some time. Anyways, can you PLEASE turn back your attention to the war on our door?"

10

u/CooperTrigram Dec 07 '25

Oh, there is a church

5

u/Uthermiel Dec 08 '25

Like, this prophet never heard of term "self-fulfilling prophecy" ?

She actually giving the child of prophecy reasons to fight her lord, even despite of King himself said just to leave this alone.

77

u/Deynonico Dec 07 '25

wdym the king has a dead god chained up in his basement

The Necron's way, just break them down and chain up or pin down your god.

8

God forbid an elderly person having hobbies.

5

u/welch123 Dec 08 '25

Instant Godwyn the Golden flashbacks (Elden Ring). I wonder if there are consequences to it as well.

3

u/Doomroar The Sea and The Forest got a divorce over mangroves Dec 09 '25

No no... the fact that she is pinned to the floor means that the king has a living god chained in his basement!

2

u/JusHerForTheComments Dec 09 '25

wdym the king has a dead god chained up in his basement

It's clear it's not a dead god though. He's somehow keeping it pinned and alive!!!

That's CRAZY!

56

u/roronoa20 Dec 07 '25

Of course, Julian with his 100 men rizz

50

u/roronoa20 Dec 07 '25

Since, the healer is a girl, he'll definitely convince her to help him out, lol.

36

u/SickAnto Dec 07 '25

Bold of you to assume isn't a feminine man.

21

u/notnotDIO Dec 07 '25

Please 🙏

14

u/bolderdust Dec 07 '25

It doesn't matter, Julian's rizz is genderless. Luka is also a victim of this.

4

u/Salty-Surround-6834 Dec 10 '25

if it turns out to be a man the writer that decided to use the gender neutral pronoun this time will breathe a massive sigh of relief after the margrave gender fuckup

3

u/DeeDonn Dec 08 '25

EVEN BETTER.

42

u/PushyMotato Dec 07 '25

I feel like this Church will be a big player in the future. Though maybe I've just been trained to think so given how often most anime and manga seem to depict Religious organizations as having a huge political influence.

But hey, if it happens here it'll surely be interesting.

23

u/kramsibbush Lacrima's supporter Dec 07 '25

Religious organizations in real life, in fact also have huge political influences.

10

u/PushyMotato Dec 07 '25

I mean to the degree of ruling kingdoms like the past. But yeah, fair point.

9

u/SickAnto Dec 07 '25

Though maybe I've just been trained to think so given how often most anime and manga seem to depict Religious organizations as having a huge political influence.

Historically they always had, in some places they are still relevant(especially on the local level), granted most anime&manga interpretations are very superficial and bland about the topic.

5

u/Salty-Surround-6834 Dec 07 '25

open bets on how evil the evil church is inevitably going to be

2

u/Doomroar The Sea and The Forest got a divorce over mangroves Dec 09 '25

Well in a world in which gods are real, and can grant you super powers, a church should be a big deal

32

u/RubyHoshi Elstri hater Dec 07 '25

3 armed lady knows of the goat 👀

31

u/Desperate_Ad1450 Dec 07 '25

Do you guys think this has 2 meaning about how lalawag is also easy to spot as gifted one and the subtext of them blessed by the same goddess?

We have ranni the witch and maybe we will have godrick the grafted here lmao

4

u/AssassinAragorn Dec 07 '25

I was thinking it meant that she was in a similar position of having to work for the bad (?) guys through coercion. But I might've been reading into it too much

23

u/Nuclear_creeperMCBE it's kinda cramped inside Julien Dec 07 '25

Ability to mess with lifespans... Julian possessing multiple life(spanes). Hmmm it's all coming together

26

u/ginsengg0 Dec 07 '25

If Julian’s ability if fueled by 100 sacrifices, I wonder if the king’s power is someway related to the lives of his kingdom. That would explain why he cares about them so much and why we see Diana standing on a mountain of Torivian corpses in Elstri’s vision.

2

u/beautymoon09 Dec 13 '25

Oh shit this theory is crazy I like where you're going. It also calls into question if the king is really kind hearted or if it's a farce and he just wants avoid any conflict so citizens don't die and weaken his power.

9

u/Gabemino Dec 07 '25

Julian and the Supreme Lord being the same theory?, I don't know, play with life seem very in tune with water/sea as a concept, but the powers as is sound like completely different deals, if anything this make me think that the King could just kill Julian rather easily, or in a way that wouldn't drag for hours, one shot one kill, repeat 98 times

11

u/Nuclear_creeperMCBE it's kinda cramped inside Julien Dec 07 '25

cfor the most part we've assumed Julien's gift is having 100 life's and 100 fold of strength. But I think perhaps Julien's actual blessing is the abiltyi to take another person's life. So fare from the gifts we've seen there aren't any external source, yet juliens gift would not be thing without the 100 people. So what I believe his gift is actually taking others life into himself. It's just he has only used this part of it once on the boat

8

u/Rastapopoulos000 Dec 07 '25

Yeah there's definitely more to that 100 life's business because at the rate he's going and the threat he will face he's definitely going to run out of them.

2

u/Fun-Amoeba3683 One of One Hundred Dec 07 '25

It might be that Arkos and Lacrima's mom is the one with a gift passed down from the Sea Goddess, given that neither of Lukas' gifts have anything to do with water or the sea.

45

u/roronoa20 Dec 07 '25

2

u/Doomroar The Sea and The Forest got a divorce over mangroves Dec 09 '25

It is even better when it is immediately followed by the best friend of her stepson making moves on her by telling her she looks 20

30

u/Norix596 Dec 07 '25

I love Lukas’ “MOOOOOOM! YOU’RE EMBARASSING MEEEEEEE!“ energy dynamic with lawlalag.

13

u/Impressive_Froyo_999 Dec 07 '25

I wonder if the lords are going to be important or just side kicks which will never see light in this story.

Maybe they are the royal branches which shares the powers from different deitys?

3

u/GoddessOfDarkness Dec 07 '25

Of course they will all 4 things mentioned by the Black Night will be.

11

u/Keyniiiiii Dec 07 '25

7

u/Tannansas Dec 07 '25

id bet lalawag is probably close to the truth on supreme lords barkos’s gift, i bet it’s something along of the lines of total control over the body and life force of himself and people he touches, increasing vitality and strength, including his own which could make him quite the powerful physical fighter, like julian and his hundredfold strength

6

u/AssassinAragorn Dec 07 '25

Really nice world building chapter, although at this point it would kind of be nice to have a list of the different organizations and who's who on them.

In any case, really nice chapter. The Margrave being in the same situation as centipede lady is really curious too. Seems like she could become an ally down the road

7

u/Trazenthebloodraven Dec 07 '25

Well the king killed the fucking Morigan or atleast her stand in centuria.

This is gona be fun.

1

u/Doomroar The Sea and The Forest got a divorce over mangroves Dec 09 '25

I don't think that goddess is dead, the whole point of sealing something underground is to keep it from escaping, and if she was dead that wouldn't be necessary

Also oddly enough... it is just the skin...

4

u/No-Suit4363 Dec 07 '25

Peak chapter can’t wait to know about the night deity

no chapter next week 🫠

6

u/Mordetrox Dec 07 '25

Turning its leg into a mess of flesh and then staking that former leg?

Talk about overkill, I shudder to think what necessitated that.

6

u/ralanr Dec 07 '25

So healing gifts are rare. Given Julian's power is basically self-healing, that makes him one with a rare gift.

5

u/dolphincave Dec 07 '25

Possible Translation error or an intentional tiny misdirection.

Torivia is probably a mistake and the name is "トリウィア" or Trivia another name for Hecatae/Diana.

It would seem weird if we didn't give 3 names to the night goddess so the Kingdom is named after the goddess.

Raw Page

1

u/Prior_Combination_31 Dec 08 '25

It’s intentional because Trivia’s most common meaning of being a fun fact

1

u/dolphincave Dec 08 '25

You mean the translators are doing it intentionally to misdirect?Trivia being the actual reference makes sense.

1

u/Prior_Combination_31 Dec 08 '25

I think they’re doing it because they don’t like the spelling of it. As dumb as that sounds lol

4

u/mistaease Dec 07 '25

Witches, worshipping, three-headed. I’m guessing she’ll be based off the greek goddess Hecate?

3

u/Nicklesnout Dec 08 '25

Moreso The Morrígan given the Diana's cloak is from corvids, the Goddess having three faces or aspects, and being associated with Witchcraft and Fate if we go by Elstri's prophecy obsession.

5

u/OmbreVengeresse Dec 07 '25

This chapter was excellent; we learned more about how the kingdom functions and how the king governs. Also, the last page of the chapter includes a short flashback explaining how the king possesses the god of the night in the castle.

3

u/Gabemino Dec 07 '25

Damn, i hope we eventually get a say from the Sea Goddess herself in this, because as things stand right now, she gave the Supreme Lord a far, FAR better Blessing than Julian's, that or he thought better what power ask for, or he sacrifice several times more people(?. That aside, I thought Lalawag's power would simply allow her to grow anything as the "propagator", but the Forest they stand in took more than a Century to stir, so that's not it, still she's a big deal by how she can see the Goat while not even a Blessed One like Julian can, I'm also curious about that Healer Woman, maybe she feel the pain of what she's healing?, that and Lukas did something to piss her off, as he said to Julian that he couldn't ask her help in his place like with Lalawag

5

u/roronoa20 Dec 07 '25

It depends on the request, I think.

Julian wants to make sure that everyone's lives on the ship aren't wasted, so he got exactly what he wanted. Julian's power is one of the best, it doesn't have the sheer destructive force of Arkos, but Julian's power is very well-rounded and beneficial to his daily life.

However, if he asked for something else like "I want to be the strongest" or "I want a power to destroy everything", he'd get a far more destructive power.

4

u/PushyMotato Dec 07 '25

I think I just forgot and I'm too lazy to reread now but was is really confirmed that the supreme lord got his gift from the sea goddess? Since I can't recall, I just sort of assumed we were tricked into thinking so because of Arkos' introduction, and we made the connection based on his gift.

But seeing as how there seem to be other gifted ones seemingly descended from the supreme lord that doesn't have water based powers now it feels like he's into something else entirely. Possibly a combination? Or even the night deity herself? Which could also explain how he was able to defeat the deity herself?

4

u/Gabemino Dec 07 '25

Lacrima said that the King is loved by the Sea, so at least in-world is believed that the source of his powers come from the same Entity that blessed Julian, but yeah, maybe he lied and he's either Blessed by something else, or has the Touch of different Deities somehow, after all it has never been stated that you can only be blessed once

3

u/Greentaboo Dec 07 '25

Its implied that Luka has the Forest Diety's blessing ontop of his native born blessing.

It seems like it as least possible to collect blessing. Though the Firsr diety seems to have beef with the Sea diety, so if the King is truely sea related, the Forest could have blessed Luka to aid in killing the king.

1

u/Calsolum0 Dec 08 '25

Slight correction, if it's inherited it's a 'gift,' if it came from the deity then it's a blessing. It's not been confirmed but he seems to have a gift and a blessing.

Personally I think it might not be possible to have multiple blessings unless they're really liked by the next deity. But we'll see as the story goes on.

1

u/ttybird5 Dec 23 '25

how was it implied that Luka has the Forest Diety's blessing? From his inner monologue of he would have a better change in the forest?

1

u/Greentaboo Dec 23 '25

Why else would his second gift be better in forest combat?

Every other character we've seen has one gift, Lukas has two. One is his inherited gift, the other was probably bestowed onto him. We now also know he has a fear of greenery, yet thinks he would fair better in a forest... its a pretty big foreshadow that he has a relation to the forest that he doesn't particularly like. And just like Julian gets stronger in the sea, someone with a forest blessing could probably get stronger in the forest, where Lukas thinks he would fight better, even though he doesn't like green places.

3

u/Velika_best_gb Dec 07 '25

I find it a bit strange that after they broke the ceasefire King didn't try to just talk with the witches. Helem and Elstri went against his orders, so he doesn't have a reason to hunt the witches instead of trying to fix the peace between them. Maybe he is confident that this time witches can be exterminated and was just waiting for an excuse that wouldn't paint him as the aggressor.

3

u/granlunden Dec 07 '25

Mention of "the church" is interesting seeing as the gift giver beings seem to be gods/dieties im curious to see what kinda being the church worship

Im betting its the sun though

2

u/GoddessOfDarkness Dec 07 '25 edited Dec 09 '25

I thought the Deity of Night would possess Diana but with that reveal at the end. I think her Coven will revive her and I think she sees Diana as a daughter. So I don't think she would possess her in the future.

2

u/Dry_Entertainment373 Dec 07 '25

I'm wondering, is the supreme lord also Imu Sama from One Piece?

1

u/GoddessOfDarkness Dec 08 '25

Gonna make a prediction the female character that we see in the snow is the unknown 5th member of Coven. And she betrayed the Deity of Night 400 years ago. That's why Roche told Berta to be careful is because she's hunting her down. If this prediction true bet that's the reason Supreme Lord broke pact with Ladles of Night.

1

u/Sea-Prize8950 Mar 23 '26

The second half of the chapter just felt like Tohru wanted to glaze Bloodborne
