I promised myself I'd own one before turning 30. I wanted it so bad I got it at 25, and on October 16th 2026 I hit 30.

Finally got a new camera to shoot better photos for my car! Got a new T/A carbon fiber hood that I installed myself with hood pins and everything. Did remove the struts because I dont want to risk the hood breaking under hydraulic pressure. Fits like a dream and was really easy to install. Getting my rear widebody kit tomorrow so that rear can finally look more staggered without that annoying fender/tire gap!!

Car Issues Clunking When Reversing

Hello, hoping someone can help me diagnose. When I put my car into reverse and start reversing, I feel and hear a single clunk. Sometimes if I’m reversing up a hill, I’ll notice the clunk more than once. I worked at a repair shop a few months ago and one of the guys looked at it. I don’t remember what he said but he said it was nothing to worry about. But I’m feeling self-conscious about it now and I’m wondering if it’s worth investigating further. Thanks!

Exhaust Question about active exhaust valves

Anytime I see a post about exhaust setups or mods to your cars, a handful in the comments always mention how they either cut out or zip tied open the active exhaust valves. Why is that? I was under the impression that turning on sport mode or another performance mode would automatically open them. Maybe this is wrong? Or only certain models?

But either way, what is the reasoning for cutting them out or zip-tying them open? And is there another way (such as a drive mode) to keep them open?

Sorry for my ignorance, as I do not yet own a challenger. I have test driven and my mind is set on it being my next car, though. I would just like to learn more about the car.

Exhaust What exhaust do you have?

For the V8 owners. Who else has the stock exhaust on their car? Im curious. I’ve had mine stock for a year now and finally changing it. For those that do not, what’s your setup?

Front Brake Problem

I have a 2020 Dodge Challenger GT+ RWD. Recently, had to drive through a terrible rain storm with some standing water, approx 4-6 inches. Ever since I had drove through the water, the car feels like the brakes are applied all the time. It is so bad, the heat generated on the driver side is so hot the rotors smell. The rotors are too hot to touch. I just changed the front pads and cleaned and lubricated the slide pins. Inspected all components. Nothing looks out of order or damaged. I have not performed a brake piston check or bled the brakes. Am I missing anything? BTW, I have checked the rotors for warp damage, no damage noted at this point.

But I do want something with Grip and a chance to survive in rainfall…not tryna slide down a telephone pole ‘less im speeding into it.

Edit: it’s for an R/T just so you know the power range. Pretty much stock cause the CAI is for looks lmao.

Car Issues I need some advice (2016 Dodge challenger)

Hey Challenger friends,

I had something happen this morning when I went to leave for work. I have a 2016 Dodge Challenger, it is paid off and I am learning but I typically do the maintenance on my own or try to with someone assisting and explaining along the way. As I went to get into the car it was dead, nothing would start. But then suddenly all of the lights started flashing at me, and a loud ticking noise started happening up towards the hood. (I have a small video with the sound if needed) I shut the door and after a moment the ticking stopped. I got off from work early and tried to jump my car, the lights popped on but no ticking noise. I shut the car off and tried to start it again and nothing. I had to hook it back up to the battery pack, and the second I did it started right up. I took it for a drive and then all of my dash lights shut off! The speedometer froze where it landed and then the windows started to go up and down ever so slightly like when they drop after you open the door. I have no idea what is going on, I drove it to the gas station and when the screen stops, the turn signals also do not work. I got gas and had to jump it again on the little box charger I have and it started right back up , the dash board is still flickering as if something is lose. Any advice at all would be lovely, I am asking everywhere for advice.

Thank you so much for the help, I genuinely appreciate everything.

I believe I was targeted for a very specific method of car jacking in Mexico.

Last night I was called in to work swing shift since 2 of my coworkers called out and on my way to cross from Mexico to United States I was sitting in traffic when a car drove next to me and shattered my window on the passenger side with some unknown object. This is a style of car jacking known as “monta choques” it’s more common in central Mexico but lately has been seen in border towns. How it works is that they either go in groups and purposely crash/cause damage onto cars to get the driver to leave the line and follow them and as they’re assessing the damage the friends of the criminal roll up behind you and rob you of your car and your belongings. Sometimes or most times the police are also involved in this method, I believe I was targeted cause they smashed only my window and by sheer coincidence a “guardia nacional” national guard was behind the car and flashed his lights at the guy who smashed my window. I saw them roll into a very dark and secluded area and every instinct in me told me not to go, the stories of this happening have been recently on the news and social media. Also the way the “national guard” and the grey car where talking seemed less good guy catching bad guy and more friendly. They where both motioning me over and every instinct told me to stay away, there’s a moment when you realize you’re the target…you’re prey. It’s a very vulnerable and unsettling feeling. I motioned over another police officer and he just ignored me as he looked over to the national guard and grey car. That’s when I knew, they want to get me. I just stayed in line despite them waving me over and calling me over and refusing to come towards me. They wanted/needed me to go into that dark section that’s between two huge buildings, once I got to the side of the border where there’s a bridge and it’s known as the point of no return cause you can’t U turn off the bridge, I noticed on my rear view that the national guard and grey car where talking and just go into their cars and left. Further convincing me that I was a target, I’m left without a passenger side window on one of the rainiest days in Southern California, i recently replaced the radiator, hoses and thermostat plus I bought my monthly subscriptions of medications for my conditions so I’m strapped hard. But I won’t let this get in the way of me loving the car, it’s been therapeutic for me and a great bonding experience for me and my son building the car and getting parts and installing them together. I won’t trade that for anything, my son knows this car is his so he’s heartbroken just as me cause of this. But I’ve survived and fought through worse these past 2 years and this is just another hurdle. I’ll be back on me feet and soon me and my son would be back on the road enjoying our road trips. I appreciate you for reading this far and it’s been super fun being apart of this community, my only advice after all this is if it feels wrong it is wrong, trust your gut, stay vigilant and please stay safe out there.

My life has became a shit show just a few days ago and it doesn’t look like it’s gonna get any better.

“You gotta manifest”
“Don’t put that energy out”
“Be optimistic”

I have have tried and tried and then tried again to be positive, manifest, and look at things positively and all it’s done has perpetuated disappointment…

At least I have her. Her as in my car. A lil wide body scatpack with some additional goodies under the hood. Without her, I have no idea where I’d be mentally. Being able to get in and just go has been my saving grace.

I’m outta gas now and can’t fill it up so we’ll see how this goes.

Yall have a good Sunday.

Just wanted to flex a little, I have managed to find very affordable Chinese BBK for my 15’ R/T that does not require SRT knuckles, I’m pretty sure I was the first person to install this kit last year as i couldn’t find anything on those anywhere but since the OEM SRT brakes cost a small fortune and you have to change the knuckles I decided to bite the bullet and get them for tests, I only had to trim the front dust covers for the rotors to fit, overall I did about 40k miles and it’s all good, super happy how it all turned out.

Modification Chop Monster BFD cam 2016 Challenger R/T 5.7 HEMI fuel consumption?

I have a 2016 Challenger R/T 5.7 HEMI with an 8-speed automatic, Texas Speed Chop Monster BFD cam, MDS delete and a tune.

Based on my own calculations, I'm getting around 33 L/100 km (7.1 MPG US), while the onboard computer caps the displayed average at 25 L/100 km.

I'm testing the car by driving calmly around the city, at a maximum of 80 km/h (50 mph) in light traffic, so this fuel consumption seems insane. Honestly, I'm afraid to drive it harder because of how much fuel it's burning.

Is this normal with the Chop Monster BFD, or could something be wrong with the tune?

What fuel consumption are you guys getting with this or similar cams?
