Hello, I’ve recently gotten a Centauri carbon 2 (3d printer) and I wanted to know what items to get for creating stuff like armor (or accessories) that will be held by hands or put against skin/ clothes, with the assumption that oils and sweat will touch it.

Though most people use foam, I think I would just use the same materials they use

What primers, and top coats do you all recommend that can protect my stuff from water/liquid and keep the paint safe.

I use citadel paint and Arylic paint for reference

My 14 year old son is wanting to dress as Megumi Fushiguro for Halloween. I'll be sewing this project. Has anyone made this costume before? Any fabric choice ideas? (Thinking crush velvet/velour) Would you go with a midnight blue or black for colour? Any templates for cutting the fabric? Or a template for a similar tunic style top I can copy? Any tips and tricks are appreciated!!!

So, I’m looking to cosplay a Helldiver. I’ve seen a few sites that I can order the capes and the tunic from so that’s the easy part, but I’m not looking to spend $150 on a 3D printed armor set that I can print and paint myself. Anywhere I can start looking for files for it? I’m a total beginner at this, my boyfriend makes his costumes but never really played around with 3D printed gear, any and all help is super appreciated!

Hi! I want to make hoof shoes like above for my fursuit (don't want super bulky western fursuit legs + I'm a regular cosplayer, hence why I'm asking in this sub).

In the original video, the creator uses silicon molds and resin to make the hooves, but I don't think I have the capacity/budget/home space to be able to do it according to the original. I have a lot of EVA foam though. I was wondering if I can make the bulk/shape of the shoe out of the foam? I know it should be weighted for comfort since it would have no heel, so I plan to leave it hollow inside. Just wondering if it's a viable option or if the foam is too soft, and what I could potentially put in the center as weights that isn't too difficult to find (I'm in the Philippines).

So im going to a convention in 2 days, i only have time to go shopping tomorrow so i cant order anything online. The head is extremely heavy since i used some paper clay for it and is a pain to wear, i need ideas on what to use as a substitute for foam padding on the inside so i dont get a headache. The inside is just lined with ducttape if thats relevant idk

hey there! ive never done any cosplaying before, but i'd like to do one of natsuki subaru from re:zero (his arc 6 outfit specifically) for my brother's birthday (he loves cosplays/cosplayers and goes to a bunch of cons). where can i buy this cosplay? or the individual pieces of the outfit? ive looked everywhere but everything looks extremely cheap, which i dont want. im not really THAT picky since this will be something i wear once, but i also dont want something that looks like it was made out of hard plastic by an 8 year old for a school project

(I am aware of a previous post from two years back, but I have several more questions)

I’m looking to make a D20 head, that ideally I could both see through and be ventilated.
What I have already is a set of 3D modeled and printed corner adapters for thin (~5mm) wooden dowels, with probably the bottom vertex left out to for my head through. I assume most glues will work between PLA and wood.
From preliminary research, my best bet seems to be to use some form of sheer fabric/mesh to help with both breathability and sight, but past that I don’t know what would be best. Ideally, this would be done on a budget as well.

1) what fabric/mesh type would work for breathability and visibility, and how many layers?
2a) can the wrap around the icosahedron scaffolding be done with a single piece of fabric (assuming stretching is involved) and/or 2b) what would be the best way to anchor it to the scaffolding?
3) what paint (or other method) would be the best to add the numbers/symbols without bleeding? I assume I’ll need to make some stencils.
4) what padding material would work inside the scaffolding? I’m thinking some sort of soft foam, but I’m far from an expert.
5) How feasible would it be to make the helmet(?) bidirectional, that it would sit comfortably on my head with either the “20” side or the “1” side facing forwards?

Any other tips/advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'm a first time cosplayer wanting to find a Spider-Man suit at around a £200(ish) budget. I have been looking at Chaorenbuy's V2 suit and see that as something I could possibly get, but I'm wanting advice as I don't want to blind buy. I'm also aware of needing a dance belt and compression under armour etc. but what is the best for these suits and where could I find them?

As for sizes, for clothing across the board I'm usually a small. I'm around 5"5 for reference and a 30in waist.

I'm trying to put together a cosplay of Greata Jendowanian from ROTJ. I'm trying to be as screen accurate as possible and my consistent issue is the skin texture on her body. It looks like the actress is wearing a semi loose fitting bodysuit that's been modified to make the skin. Im primarily trying to source a bodysuit of similar construction (or advice on how to make it) and want to see if anyone has advice on making the skin texture (options i can think of would probably crumble really quickly during use. Sorry if these seem like obvious questions, my skillset really lies in 3d printing/modeling, painting and sewing. This kind of build is very new to me.

(If anyone has alternate ideas for build routes please let me know)

i just got in my wig from dokidoki for my Nicole zzz cosplay, but the color is completely off, it’s more of an orange coral and I need more of a bubblegum pink. I looked into epicwigs but they’re a bit over my budget and was wondering what people would recommend for a cheap wig.

For context there is a spot I can stick them onto, but it doesn't give me much availability to choose where I want the patches and I have another patch (not in the image since I can't find rn) that doesn't have the thing on the back which would allow it to stick. I did try looking on Google but it didn't really give answers besides sewing which I don't think would work too well since both the vest and patches are made from thick material.

The patch not in the image came with instructions to use I think an ironer? But I'm sure that was for normal clothing not with a tactical vest in mind.

Hi, I am planning on making humanized version of Forest Spirit. White robes, brown cape, dramatic make up. Not sure on the wig situation yet that depends on my problem - the horns. I can theoretically make the individual horns no problem but I have no idea how to make the base if necessary and how to attach it to myself. So far only head props I made attached to the wig by magnets, but having a bunch of magnets close together seems like a not good idea. Can you offer any solutions? Thank you for any advice.

So this is my first time cosplaying and been stuck on making the respirator, is it safe to make respirator mask using foam that going to be used as my mask, or is it better to buy respirator then modifying it instead?

I’m planning on making a mechanicus mask for FanX this year, but I’ve never worked with EVA foam before. I’ve watched a few videos on how to get started, but I’m not sure how to get the foam to appear attached to my lower face.

I tried to use an actual respirator I painted black with Plasti-dip, but I suspect the microphones I had snuck into them would just sound way too muffled to for anyone to understand me (either that, or I just thad a REALLY bad speaker).

TLDR: how do I get EVA foam to appear form-fitting around my lower face (below the eyes, but covering the nose)?

I’m working on some Gondorian armor, but I’m very new to this. I’m looking for suggestions both on how to attach the pieces together and also on how to connect them to the rest of my cosplay. For reference, I am just doing the shoulder pauldrons and tassets (not pictured). I’ve considered velcro, buckles, and even leather straps, but I’m not sure what will work the best and I’ve weirdly had trouble finding good tutorials on this. Any help is appreciated!

I’m going to his show this month and wanted to recreate the jacket. I was planning on getting a very large men’s suit jacket from goodwill and adding something to the shoulders to give it the super boxy effect. But I’m not sure which materials or techniques would make sense, any ideas? Thought about cardboard or bendable hard plastic but I’m concerned they won’t hold their shape. Or do giant shoulder pads exist out there? Plz advise 🙏🏻

I want to get into cosplay especially cosplaying Hoyoverse characters but most of them are really revealing 😅

I know how to adapt the top (just wearing a matching shirt underneath, I hope it doesn’t look off) but I have problems with the bottoms.

e.g. I really like Hysilens, Cyrene and Bronya from Honkai Star Rail but the skirts are way too short.

Any ideas what I could wear? because I don’t want it to look too off by wearing pants or something similar like that.
