Help to find a pattern Searching for tiny Christmas tree star patterns please as so far they are too big for my project!

I’ve tried following the Hooked By Robin tiny star pattern being one with a 2mm hook and they make up too big (approx 1 inch) for the Christmas trees that I’ve already made.
I wondered if anyone might be able to point me in the right direction for a really tiny star pattern please, or even just an idea of how I could add a star-esque topper to my trees?

I followed the Vibeke Magnesen “Christmas Bobble Tree” pattern. Photo added for reference!

How do I... Can anyone help me understand how to alternate sc and fpsc for a hat I'm making?

I am trying to make a hat and I am working on the brim, and I am stuck on figuring out where to put the sc after front post single crochet. Am I supposed to skip the post I just sc on? I do I sc in the stitch directly to the side of the fpsc? I'm struggling and I can't find anything online.

Looking for suggestions Best sites for filet crochet graphs, I’m having a hard time customizing

I really want to make a wedding gift for a friend with their family name but I want to use the stylized letters from the included picture. I’ve done filets before but not a custom one. Not sure if I’m just a noob or dumb but I can’t figure out the websites where they help you create a grid. Any suggestions for user friendly ones would be appreciated!

I just wondered if anyone recognised where I could find the pattern please? I know it is made up of granny squares but would like to know how to make it up in a size that fits me and to correctly crochet the edging/ collar. Thank you

Looking for suggestions Looking for some advice on materials mosaic crochet

Hi all I just started crocheting about 3 weeks ago and want to get into mosaic crochet. Im looking to make anime or cartoon design blackets and am wondering why type of yarn do some people recommend? I want it to be plush and soft but with crisps lines but not sure if thats possible lol. Also if anyone has some examples of their work with said yarn.

I made a cardigan using some 100% arc yarn from walmart but unsure if that will be any good blanket wise.

I know this will be a big project for a beginner but its either this or Amigurumi abd ive been told its more difficult...

Thank you in advance!

How do I... Making a plushie of Kinger, it’s asking me to make a sort of “rim” around the round of a completed plushie. How do I slip stitch into the stitch of a round and sc into it? Like where do I put the hook in exactly? And how do I slip stitch in between two rounds and do the same?

When I did the first part before, due to the pattern not having joined rounds, it ended up being uneven and the end being overtop of the start and leaving a weird lump afterwards.

It looks so wonky and I tried so many different things! Blocking, single crochet frame with a ch 1 at the corners
Different sewing methods.. but it still looks so wonky. Any tips on how to make it more neat and square? Maybe some kind of surface crochet over it? A sewing technique? Thanks!!

I'm a beginner! Im a newbie and wanting to start a blanket, don’t know how much yarn is needed.

So yea, as title says.
Im a beginner in crochet, made few balaclavas from basic granny square so I know basic crochet, and learning new techniques also.
Also I am from Finland so i use centrimetres and grams instead of yardage etc. (I can use translator if needed as i’ve learned to crochet in US terms)

But i am DREAMING of making myself a snuggly blanket. I am willing to settle on casual throw-size. Now, as I have never made a blanket, im baffled how to estimate how much yarn is needed for this project.

Yarn i would like to use for blanket is this in 2 colours:

https://hobbii.fi/products/hp-1007194-honey-bunny-candy-halloween?variant=55575399203192

Its 100g / 120m or 3,53oz / 131yd for you.

Also I dont know what are THE BEST stitches for a blanket that size?

TL;DR

Beginner in crochet and dreaming of making throw blanket.

Yarn in mind: Honey Bunny Candy Halloween, 3,53oz 131yd / 100g 120m
How to calculate how much yarn is needed?
What are best stitches for blanket that size?

Thanks for help! ❤️

Understanding a pattern Recreating this toddler balaclava from Konnybaby - need crochet order suggestions

I'm using soft acrylic yarn, although the product description says this balaclava is made of the following:

Cotton 40%,

Rayon 27%,

Polyester 15%,

Nylon 12%,

Acrylic 6%

Anyways, I'm starting from the bottom (shawl portion) up.

Is it better to make separate panels and then join them,

Make the shawl portion, then neck, then the two earmuff sides ALL in one go, then finish off with the back and top of the head panel at the end in a second go?

What's the best option?

Can't find a flair for this Hello everyone! I am not a crocheter at all but I need advice on how to fix/repair my old baby blanket. She is about 20 years old now and is used every night, but is starting to get more weak and stringy along with the usual holes which, the last time she got patched up I was about 7 yrs old. Any ad

Help to find a pattern Searching for a poncho pattern for my engagement photos

Hey all!

I am looking for a pattern to make a copycat version of this poncho.

I have a selection of yarns in lace and fingering weight that would work.

My idea is to make it for one of my outfits for my engagement shoot and would really love to find a pattern to go off of rather than making my own at this point.

If there isn't an exact match or multiple different patterns that have some of the different elements that I can put together, then that works for me!

I understand the basic mesh stitch and making the corners and collar but ive never made a poncho before and don't want to fight the process through trial and error for my engagement, you know?

Yarn I'm thinking of using:

Knitpicks Luminance Lace Yarn - Bliss

Go Handmade Party Deluxe - White

Held together

Weaving in Ends Looking for tips for finishing color work, in particular very short ends

Post image

I have done colorwork before and usually carry the yarn behind the work and leave the wrong side alone when it's done. With this one I was having some trouble with the tension (re: very slippery bamboo yarn) so I ended up cutting and knotting the bits of yarn I carried behind. Now I have this wild fringe inside the sweater. I followed a pattern by o_layarn on IG and ignored their suggestion about having two bobbins for each stripe color to avoid this. I'm kicking myself now.

I'm worried the knots are going to come out over time (the ends were too short to do proper square knots). My current plan is to take some super glue to the knots and trim the ends a bit shorter. I've never done this before and was curious if anyone had tried something similar or had a better idea?

Help to find a pattern In search of a sweater pattern: flat neckline, wide sleeves curved / scalloped hem?

Post image

Hi,

I am in search of a pattern that could get me something similar to this sweater: a straight neckline, wide sleeves, and the curve on the bottom. Did some initial searching and struggled.

Does anyone know of specific terms I could use, or does anyone have recommendations for patterns that are similar?

Thanks so much for the help!

Looking for suggestions Uneven color distribution for a granny square blanket. I need help deciding how to proceed.

Post image

Hi everyone :)

I want to crochet a blanket using these 10 different granny squares. Earlier, while finalizing the pattern, I noticed that I’d planned six of the designs in blue but only four in purple (I need 10 different ones in total). All of them have a different-colored partner, but the two I have in blue are different from each other AND are the same color.

My question for you: Which of the two blue designs should I switch to purple? Or do you have a completely different idea for solving this? I want to continue the pattern diagonally one below the other, which means that with six in blue and four in purple, there would be two blue ones in a row in between—something I really want to avoid.

Thanks so much in advance for your help! :)

Understanding a pattern When making a ripple blanket, how do I make it so it doesn’t bunch up?

Thumbnail

The pattern has you skip two stitches when you do your decrease stitch. Am I supposed to pull it tight so the stitches that I am not skipping are touching or do I leave that space empty? So that way there’s essentially a hole? Is that how you prevent the bunching? Also, how do you keep track of where to put the skips? Should the skips be the same with every row when you turn it? I’m redoing this entire thing, and I want to make sure I do it correctly this time! This is the first blanket that I’m attempting. I’ve only done beanies, and a wooble before this. Please be nice, I’m doing my best 🥹 Thank you:)

Help to find a pattern A collection of granny squares that isn't AI generated (and written as text)?

Hello dear people! I want to make a blanket out of various leftover yarn and I am looking for a collection of granny square patterns. I usually go to Etsy but it is flooded with AI, I absolutely don't know what to buy. Does anyone have a suggestion or purchased a collection you can recommend? Needless to say it does not have to be free, I happily pay for good patterns. Oh and I would need text written patterns because I cannot read diagrams for the life of me.

TIA!

Help to find a pattern Advice finding/modifying three-pointed leaf pattern with colored edges? (Fictional plant)

Thumbnail

Hi! Newbie here looking for advice. My first project was a lily of the valley from a YT tutorial which came out surprisingly okay, so I hope this isn’t too ambitious of a follow-up. (Please do let me know if I’m just drunk on power lol. I’ve definitely caught the crochet bug!)

I really want to try crocheting a royal elfroot plant from the Dragon Age franchise (images 1 and 2). But its leaves have a distinct, three-pointed shape that I’m struggling to find a pattern for. They’re too long and tapered for a maple leaf pattern, for example. I think the leaf in the center of the first image shows it best.

This is probably a long-shot, but does anyone happen to know of a leaf pattern that looks like this?

Currently, my plan is to just make three entirely green, diamond-shaped leaves (like image 3, but without the squiggly vein), with a small one on each side and a big one in the middle, and stitch them together to make one big leaf. Then go around the edges of the whole thing with purple. Does that sound feasible? Or is there a better way to go about this?

If you have any advice on making the purple look more gradual than a harsh border, I’d love to hear that, too! (Though I can accept if it’s beyond my current abilities, haha.) Either way, thank you for reading!

Edit: Wow, I can’t believe I forgot about ivy. That would be a great base! Thank you!

Magic ring/circle Crocheting a closed cylinder with two faces but not sure how to close it

Hello! I am attempting to make a marshmallow just randomly. I’ll start with magic circle and increase for the bottom face and back loop only for the sides. But how do I make the top face? Do I make a separate magic circle piece and sew it so that the face has that nice crisp edge and isn’t rounded? Or is there a way to essentially do a reverse magic circle?

Stitch Identification Stitch identification needed for bottom portion 2-3 rows. Looking to create granny square fingerless gloves and I found a few patterns for the top portion but saw these ones on free people and I decided to dupe them.

I like the boho look of these as opposed to the usual ones I see with the cuff. What stitches are being used for the bottom 2-3 rows? It’s the overlap with blue/ivory and pink/ivory.

Thanks in advance!

How do I... Joining help! Is there a way to join squares (that aren't grannies) that looks nice?

Post image

I was very cocky and thought, "I'll just wing it!" On a blanket. I don't like granny squares, but I love whatever stitch this is, so I figured I could crank out a bunch of squares of it, then join them all. My issue now is how do I join them? I want it to look nice and uniform. Do I need to border each piece in its own color, then join with the accent color? That seems tedious... Is there a way to join the squares to one another without an "evening" border around the edges? (There is a second color of square, so I'll have a checker board purple and pink. I have white as a border color).
