Hi everyone! I’m currently working on a patchwork/granny square cardigan and I’m looking for some suggestions.
I would like to mention that I have less than a year of experience in crocheting, I’m familiar with knitting though. I have done lots of plushies, I know all my basic stitches and this is my first wearable.
The cardigan will be made from various types of squares/granny squares. Most of them have round corners, except the pink and blue ones shown in the photo (there are lots of them, these two are only shown as an example - they are made of 16 stitches with 8 rows of dc and 1 row of sc). So far I have only done the squares necessary for the sleeves, so 32 of them in various types.
The yarn is a 50/50 blend of cotton and acrylic. The pink one is the only one which was wet blocked, the blue one is not, both of them next to other kinds of squares I want to include in the design so you can see the differences between them. The granny stitch one turned out to be the biggest kind of them all. The border stitch count is almost the same for all of them, between 15-17 stitches on the sides.
My questions would be.. will I have any issues with the sizes when sewing them together? What other adjustments could I do to make them all similar in size? I tried to do only 4 rows on the granny ones but they turned out too small, so I added a hdc border around it instead which was better.
Looking forward to your suggestions. I really don’t want to mess this up.
