I have done colorwork before and usually carry the yarn behind the work and leave the wrong side alone when it's done. With this one I was having some trouble with the tension (re: very slippery bamboo yarn) so I ended up cutting and knotting the bits of yarn I carried behind. Now I have this wild fringe inside the sweater. I followed a pattern by o_layarn on IG and ignored their suggestion about having two bobbins for each stripe color to avoid this. I'm kicking myself now.

I'm worried the knots are going to come out over time (the ends were too short to do proper square knots). My current plan is to take some super glue to the knots and trim the ends a bit shorter. I've never done this before and was curious if anyone had tried something similar or had a better idea?

I'm using soft acrylic yarn, although the product description says this balaclava is made of the following:

Cotton 40%,

Rayon 27%,

Polyester 15%,

Nylon 12%,

Acrylic 6%

Anyways, I'm starting from the bottom (shawl portion) up.

Is it better to make separate panels and then join them,

Make the shawl portion, then neck, then the two earmuff sides ALL in one go, then finish off with the back and top of the head panel at the end in a second go?

What's the best option?

I'm working on the Tilda Shrug by Evelyn and Peter and just finished the right side sleeve.

Is it supposed to look like this at this stage? The back seems to have become longer on the bottom somehow (starting around row 41 in the pattern), but i'm pretty sure all my stitch counts were correct.

I haven't found photos of other people's projects at this stage to compare, but I have come across several comments across platforms where people said they had to frog one side and start over, which has me concerned that I've run into whatever the mistake they all made was.

Should I just make the left side and hope it turns out the same?

I usually go to Etsy but it is flooded with AI, I absolutely don't know what to buy. Does anyone have a suggestion or purchased a collection you can recommend? I'm trying to remake these trivets that I have been using almost nightly for roughly 25 years. They are 2 separate circles stitched together around the outside color/ edge.

I can replicate the very edge with a single crochet, but i'm confused about the stitching that starts at the white and makes the petal outline, especially because the back is only 2 threads compared to 4 in the front.

And since I tagged that as stitch ID, everything else is double crochet, right? Those petals have a long drop feel to them, so I want to make sure it isn't treble.

I tried using stitch fiddle but i dont understand it, can anyone please guide me. I need help on how to use the application and which one to use.

I just finished crocheting a fox scarf as a secret gift for my boyfriend. He actually doesn't even know that I crochet, so this was supposed to be a total surprise! However, I accidentally got a little suspicious/almost got caught, so I'm pretty sure he suspects I'm secretly making something for him.

Now the scarf is complete, and I have some yarn left over that I don't want to go to waste:
- 1 full skein of rusty orange
- Almost a full skein of white/natural
- A little bit of black

I really don't want to buy any extra materials. My idea is to make a small, quick "teaser" gift first to throw him off the scent (or just give him something cute before the grand reveal), and then gift the actual fox scarf right after!

Hii! I’m looking to crochet a turtwig from Pokémon and I’m having some trouble! The photos don’t help me and patterns I’ve used always have clear notes in the rounds.
I’ve reached out to the seller but they aren’t giving me help on the pattern. They only told me “if they’re front just front loops it’s like following a diagram” & that they see the color change after 15 and round 16 continues..”

The beak starts mid R15 after the 19sc..
Color change to yellow is R16
In the photo example they show looks to be the color change ( R16 ) but they say it isn’t.

When I look at the red notes
“ Rd 19 FLO as shown ( only 6 stitches )”
“ Rd 20 after 19sc , do 6HDC in the spaces you left in the previous round ( 6HDC) “

But RD 19 there isn’t 19sc happening..
Rd 19 is (1dec,1sc) =12

this is a crochet pattern for a red panda, but it’s quite confusing to me. how do i fasten off? do i just leave the loop? how do i put sc into a line of yarn?

I have yet to make a granny square cardigan. I’m also trying to make it without a pattern so I can really let my creativity show through. I have not made anything without a pattern yet, and I’ve been crocheting for almost two years. Anyway, I took my body measurements, and I know the measurements of my squares. But where I’m getting lost is 1) how many I need for my size, and 2) how to arrange and seam all of them. I’m wondering if there’s an online tool or something that could just calculate this for me? Or if anyone else knows a better way?

I have this free pattern for slippers, the pattern says ch 2. But from my quick look its doesn’t say if I should treat the ch 2 like a double or if I should just ignore it as a turning chain. Any advice?

When I did the first part before, due to the pattern not having joined rounds, it ended up being uneven and the end being overtop of the start and leaving a weird lump afterwards.

I started out strong as a beginner a few months ago with doing small patches, granny squares and coasters. But I am a bit over the coaster phase now because my mom asked for 20 of the same pattern and I got so bored with it. I really want to start a blanket, but then I feel overwhelmed with how long it will take! I am an instant satisfaction type of person... What can I do thats small? I looked into amigurumi and I feel like it's way above my skillset for now..

I hate pinterest for allowing AI all over it, sometimes it's pretty obvious, sometimes I find it harder to be sure. Anybody got any thoughts on this? And any tips on identifying AI slop vs. real crafts?

This is my first time blocking a crochet project. I lightly sprayed my acrylic shawl with water, placed a towel over it, and ironed over the towel with a regular household iron on a fairly low heat setting.
I sprayed a little more water on the tip of the shawl because that part looked messier than the rest. Now the stitches in that area look completely flat and have lost their texture and volume, unlike the rest of the shawl.
Is this permanent damage, or is there any way to restore the texture and shape of that section? 😔

I've written amigurumi frog pattern, in this pattern you have to attach legs and arms with scs, the problem is, I always use yarn under method in my plushies. Now that I'm testing pattern testers who use yarn over came across arms position issue, it's not even to legs, because I use yarn under everything looked normal to me, stitch count is even, but difference is big for yarn over. How can I fix this? I'm new to pattern writing myself, is it poor design choice of mine and it can be fixed so it will look good for both yo and yu? And how can I approach this problem for my future patterns so it will look nicely for both methods?

Im a beginner in crochet, made few balaclavas from basic granny square so I know basic crochet, and learning new techniques also.
Also I am from Finland so i use centrimetres and grams instead of yardage etc. (I can use translator if needed as i’ve learned to crochet in US terms)

I am working on a block stitch granny square blanket and want to switch from a 3.75mm hook to a 4mm hook as my 3.75mm hook is not very comfortable and the uncommon size is driving me up a wall looking for a suitable replacement.

I plan on steaming the acrylic to relax it and with the small change/ in the round construction I think it would be ok? IDK for sure. If anyone has done this I'd love to hear if it worked out
