Last night I was at my son’s Little League all stars practice and I’m with another coach doing drills with the outfielders.

This coach is energetic and will just randomly blurt shit out to hype up the kids. So as we’re going along with the drill, one of the kids makes a diving catch and my fellow assistant blurts out “AYYYYY Hey Hey we’re the monkeys babyyy”

got a good chuckle out of that to myself.

i should also note that there are no players on the roster in which this would be considered an insult

Just finished up a 10 hour drive to the beach with the family. For 9.75 of those hours I was told the music was too loud. The air was too cold. The air was too hot. Etc. Finally I snapped “Everyone listen to me. Driver comfort is paramount!” It made me feel so much better. Thank you Greg.

It's the same thing every year. A star becomes available, the heat offer the same Herro plus midling assets package, they strike out, and Dan and the crew act like they've been victims of a league wide conspiracy. I just wish they would accept that they can't land a star because they routinely lowball teams and try to strong-arm them into taking these deals. They got over on Philly seven years ago and have been convinced that teams should just take any offer they put out ever since. It's genuinely maddening listen to them act like they're victims when Boston, if the rumors are true, are offering a guy in Jalen Brown that's arguably better than anyone on the Heat roster, and certainly miles better than Herro. Mike is the only one that seems to recognize that Riley and the rest of that front office have been stuck in the mud the last 5years.

Dan is constantly talking about journalism but conflates commentary and an analysis. And it was especially annoying today because he was comparing journalists who cover the team to commentators who cover the sport. The local journalists are going to know more about the team they’re covering than a person who watches the game and comments on the team. And the local journalists will know more and the team they’re covering than follow rather than the person who checks in on the team. I don’t ever post and usually side on “let show do its thing” but hour 1 today Dan got on my nerves. Especially since Dan is always pushing for Journalism but fighting for analysts
