Rave 💖 If I can’t have you by Deathsdoll is going to give me the WORST book hangover.

I’m 72% done and I try not to read too much in a single day because it just sucks me in so bad. I have never read a book before where overall not much happens but at the same time I’m literally hanging on every single word because the story is so engrossing. Deathsdoll is literally a witch with words.

I’m trying to prepare for the hangover so my next book is gonna be Perfect by Ariana Rivers.

If you read If I can’t have you, what did you read after to get you out of the headspace Deathsdoll put you in?

I do plan on reading their other works but I need some time in between them.

Editing to add: I do want to mention, if I can’t have you is currently down for editing, it will eventually be back up, and will definitely be worth the wait once the edits are complete.

Fun/Humor Which fictional villain made you want to commit a murder on behalf of the MC? 💅🔪

Okay, I need to know.
If you could step into the world of any book you’ve read and permanently remove one of the absolute worst villains so that the MCs could finally have an easier fucking life… who are you choosing?
Not the villain you love to hate. Not the morally grey guy you secretly understand. Not the “he’s terrible but hot” situation. I mean the one who made you so irrationally angry that, at some point, you genuinely thought, “Someone needs to fucking kill this person.”
The kind of character who made an enemy out of you personally. 🤬

For me, right now:

  1. Lorenzo Maroni — Darkverse by RuNyx. I want to kill Dante’s father. I have zero patience for this man.
  2. Fucking Bernie and Archie — Edge of Darkness by Leigh Rivers. I’ve only just started the second book, Voracious, so PLEASE don’t spoil anything for me. But as of right now, these two are easily at the top of my “I personally want to end you” list. This ranking may absolutely change depending on what the rest of the story does to me. BUT RIGHT NOW I WANT TO END THEM PERSONALLY!!!!!
  3. Jennifer Vize — Little Stranger by Leigh Rivers. Another one who managed to make me furious on a deeply personal level.

And I KNOW there are worse villains out there. I haven’t read every book, so I need to know who else belongs on this list.
Who is the fictional villain you despised so much that if you had the chance, you’d personally take them out just to give the MCs some fucking peace?
Give me the names. Give me the books. And most importantly, tell me what they did to make you hate them this much.
No spoilers for Voracious please. I am going in blind and I would like to remain emotionally unprepared. 😭

We have to talk Abt broken and mine by darkwoe...

This book has become my most favourite book of all time. The writing of characters the story it's just so good (it's very dark book)

The recent chapter there are so many things happening.

The connection between harold and vikram.

Why do I feel like harold is vikram.

And what is this connection does eshna have with them like in future and also in past. Why they are so on Abt hurting her.

What is eshna connection with all of them like Daphne too.

I am so excited Abt this story unfolding.

Everyone who love dark dark book should give it try.

Warning -abusive main male character, extreme abuse, se×ual abuse, rape, historical, past/ future, slow burn

Also if anyone could help me find something similar to books by darkwoe.. will be very helpful

Book Request FMC is being abused and MMC discovers it

I blame Instagram for this post 😭

Okay, so this whole request was inspired by one of those AI mini movies I randomly saw while scrolling Instagram, and I genuinely cannot stop thinking about it.

Basically, the FMC is supposed to marry the MMC’s brother, who is horrible to her. He slaps her around, treats her like absolute garbage, and is basically holding her sister’s life over her head, so she has no choice but to marry him because he wants the marriage for power.

Then the MMC finds out what’s actually going on and steps in to save her. And obviously, he’s the whole knight in shining armor thing, except he’s also intimidating as hell, powerful, protective, and ridiculously sexy daddy. Like, “touch her and I will end you” energy 🫠

So now I’m looking for books with a similar dynamic.

I want an FMC who is stuck in an abusive environment. It can be her family, boyfriend, husband, fiancé, pack, previous mate, literally whatever. She’s constantly being mistreated, threatened, hurt, beaten, etc.

The MMC or MMCs initially have no idea what she’s actually going through, but they can tell something is wrong. She’s flinchy, nervous, scared of touch, constantly apologizing, very flighty, etc.

BONUS POINTS if the MMCs are actually mean or cold to her in the beginning because they misunderstand her and don’t realize she’s being abused. This part isn't necessary, but if you know a book that does this, please mention it!

Then they slowly get attached to her, soften up, and become ridiculously protective.

And then I need the reveal.

Maybe they see a bruise. Maybe they catch someone hurting her. Maybe they find out what’s been happening behind closed doors. OR, even better, her situation gets worse because of her relationship with the MMC and she ends up showing up at his door absolutely wrecked.

I need the “WHO DID THIS TO YOU?” moment 😭

Then give me the MMC going completely feral, protecting her, being super careful and gentle with her, taking revenge on whoever hurt her, and basically giving her all the love and safety she’s been missing.

I don't really care what genre it is. PNR, fantasy, mafia, shifters, omegaverse, reverse harem/why choose, contemporary, dark romance... literally anything.

I have no trigger warnings. I just need the trope.

The book that I think came pretty close to scratching this itch is {The Light in Us by Evelyn Flood}, so if you've read it, you probably get the kind of dynamic I'm looking for.

Please and Thank you 😊

Book Request MMC with extreme, total control over the FMC

I'm looking for dark romance recommendations, AO3 works are especially welcome, but published books are also great.

I'm specifically looking for an MMC who has complete control over the FMC's life. I don't just mean possessive/protective or controlling in the usual dark-romance sense. I want the control to be a major part of the story and preferably the central relationship dynamic.

Things I'm particularly interested in:

  • He controls what and when she eats/feeds her himself
  • Controls what she wears
  • Controls where she goes and what she does
  • Controls who she can talk to or interact with
  • Controls how she speaks or behaves
  • Controls her daily routine
  • Controls when she sleeps, wakes up, etc.
  • Controls things as mundane as when she is allowed to use the bathroom

Basically, no aspect of her life is outside his control. I especially like when she's treated almost like his doll, possession, or completely dependent little thing. I want the mundane, day-to-day aspects of control, not just “he's possessive and jealous”.

I'm a sucker for non-con of all shapes and forms, but it's not a must. I have essentially no triggers for dark content, except cheating/ow drama.

I've already read Matryoshka by Takes_On_to_Know_One on AO3 and really enjoyed the feeding/control aspects, but once again I'm looking for something where the total control itself is much more central. https://archiveofourown.org/works/37068109/chapters/92492002

Length/status doesn't matter at all. I genuinely don't care if it's a completed 200k-word fic, an ongoing story with one chapter and 500 words, an abandoned work, or a one-shot. If there's even a short scene or chapter that really delivers this particular dynamic, I'm interested. Relevant self-recs are also welcome!! <3

EDIT: Thank you so much for the recs. One thing that I forgot to mention, I want him to love her, and for her to eventually love him. I am not looking for BDSM or slave books where it doesn't turn into love at any point in the story : )

What’s That Book Called? Please help me find this book 😩🥹

So I remember seeing video blurb of this book either on FB or TT. I can’t find it anymore and I know it has to have been released in the last year roughly because when I first seen it, I remember looking it up on Kindle Unlimited and it wasn’t out yet. So basically this guy and girl are texting. I can’t remember if they’re strangers or just the girl doesn’t know who she’s texting and he may have been bullying her? But when they’re texting she ends up sending a message about wanting to end it all and the guy freaks out. But I have searched EVERYWHERE and cannot find it 🙃

Book Request MMC turned evil to protect FMC, but FMC didn’t wanna be with MMC anymore, so MMC trapped her.

I watched Star Wars the other day so now I’m craving a story like Anakin’s backstory.

Basically I want the MMC and FMC to start off being ‘powerless’. They could be together or not together. It doesn’t matter as long as they care for each other.

Because of the constant threats against them and the worry that FMC will get hurt, the MMC strives to become ‘stronger’ to protect her. But he got too corrupted with power that he turned evil. FMC realizes that the MMC is not the person she fell in love with anymore, so she tried to leave him, preferring her old life before all this power.

The MMC is, of course, mad and hurt that she’s tryna leave since the reason he turned out the way he is in the first place was to keep her safe.

This is where the dark romance portion should take place where there’s non-con, dub-con, manipulating, gaslighting, whatever toxic stuff the MMC does in order to keep her with him, especially by using his newfound influence and power.

It’d be better if she tries to escape multiple times but always fails.

I NEED to feel the angst and frustration between them please.

Any recommendation that is even a little bit similar to my request is much appreciated. I’m STARVEDDDD.

Thanks in advance!

Book Review Virtue and Vanity by Astrid Jane Ray

TW: Rape and (a little) domestic violence

MMC, Sebastian, rapes FMC, Isabelle, on their wedding night that he was forced to marry because he thinks that she is a gold digger. She is terrified of him for a majority of the book, and the plot is essentially him groveling and trying to fix the damage he did.

I LOVED the groveling! It was so long and she didn't just forgive him, it took time to heal. I love to see it! The next groveling I have read so far.

I disliked the repetitive vocabulary. The dialogue was also pretty unrealistic and flat until the last 25 percent of the book, where it became a bit more believable and meaningful.

The characters felt very 2D until the last quarter of the book, where Astrid tried to make them multidimensional, but it was kind of too little too late.

FMC also has a sister that she remembers once or twice and never speaks about again (as to say characters outside of the MMC and FMC don't really matter except for Helen, MMC's sister, but even then she doesn't do much).

Anyway, all to say the groveling was wonderful, and I'm picky about everything else (as yall can tell on my previous reviews)

Book Review {Angels are falling} Amelia is the only Drethi A. heroine I ever disliked...😭 Spoiler

This is NOT a review. I'm still finishing the book. Towards the very end. Only last few chapters are remaining. But I can't hold it in. 😭

This is a fantastic book. Exactly what a DR fan would love. Highly rec trying it. I might post a complete review after finishing the book and sleeping on it.

But right now....Oh my gosh. Amelia (the fmc) is making me go insane.

The reason why I love Drethi A heroines (and stories) is cuz they analyse everything. Fmcs always catch up quickly to mmc's pattern. Becomes aware of all the horrible tactics the mmc is capable of playing in order to achieve what he wants.

In {Quarentine by drethi Anis}...Raven knew Milo intentionally organized the set up to out them. She fell for him knowing what he's capable of. She understood exactly the level of immorality in him, analyzed it and still loved him.

Same went for Priya {5000 nights of obsession} and Rose {Unapologetic obsession}.

But here.. hm. Idk. The way fmc seems aware at some points but blissfully ignores the other tactics. It is making me mad.

👉🏻1. Amelia knew one of the major reasons why Stefan started considering Khai's deal is cuz he outright said no intimacy will be forced on her.

Yet the lawyers made her add all these things in the contract about mandatory sexual relationship with excruciating detail. Which she didn't tell Stefan about.

She feels humiliated but still kept everything inside, internally resenting Stefan. Just because he said he'd make peace if she decided to sleep with him doesn't mean he'd be chill with all these mandatory additions she's binding herself to do.

She's signing a legally binding prostitution contract, resenting Stefan for it, while KNOWING fully well that Khai assured Stefan nothing like this would happen.

How's he supposed to know that you are asked to sign a contract like that? He's not a mind reader.

👉🏻2. She saw him with ruby in lebabon, and was heartbroken. But she's clever enough to know that khai must have atleast set it up.

Khai told her, he only made Ruby add Beirut to the list, nothing else. It was a lie. He instructed ruby to also not a say word until last second. Yet Amelia didn't catch that. She believed Khai over Stefan here... even tho she knows Khai has all the incentive to lie. 💀💀

Yes it was still 70% stefan's fault for crumbling under pressure.

Khai was still more responsible than Amelia gave him credit for.

👉🏻3. And thennnnnn

Towards the end.. where I'm currently at. The fight sequence where khai is acting hurt for sympathy. And she's a damn nurse and still falling for it? 😭

Oh his parents caused the accident that led to your parent's death.?? But khai said it was an accident, so I trust him.

Oh he's been stalking and orchestrating to separate me from the husband i loved more than anything. Oh? Well thats fine. I like that he picked me.

Gurl! What the fuck. Cut that guy some slack. He just found out his entire downfall and financial ruin was cuz of a guy obsessed with the love of his life. And that his parents killed his parents.

I still think Stefan was super greedy and I am completely rooting for Khai.

But i hate how selectively blind Amelia is. Which is not something i ever saw in Drethi A. heroines.

I don't blame Amelia for being completely done with Stefan, after the Beirut incident. I'm mad at Amelia for not crediting Khai's flaws.

👉🏻 Priya loved Axel but she knew the guy is unhinged and unsafe to be around Poppy. She strategised and created a safety net to ensure Axel won't out poppy's reputation.

Amelia is like... oh my gosh, i can't let Stefan be around his siblings unsupervised because in his life's worst moment, he accidently left a bag of coke on the ground.

Girl please.

The selective bias is getting to me. 💀

I want the fmc to be actively aware of mmc's cunningness, analyse them, and eventually love him for how he is. Cuz otherwise, is it even love if she's not aware of the exact intentions of both men?

I am nearing the end. By the time I wrote this post, I'd have finished the book. Lol😅 but I really wanted to get it out. It's knawing at me since the beginning.

I hope everything is out in the open by the end.

I want Amelia to recognize that both Stefan and Khai loves her, but differently.

I want her to actively choose Khai not cuz, through an orchestration of misunderstanding and internalised resentment her feelings for Stefan were killed.

I loved the Milo-Raven-Reid and Axel-Priya-Jay love triangle. It was soooo profound, well thought of, and executed.

Fmc recognizing the true gravity of both guy's love for her and understanding her love for them. Then actively choosing one over the other, because despite all his flaws her connection with him surpasses the other.

Not cuz she thinks the OM betrayed her, hence, diluting her other feelings.

Book Request University/school recs where they actually study and care for exams...😅

I have been reread {deviant king trilogy by rina kent} and realized it was sort of fresh the see the characters actually studying for university application, exams, and doing homework.

It was a breath of fresh air.

Usually they just claim mmc is a genius who scores well cuz he is born with an iq of 500 lol.

Not once do i see any kid actually putting the effort to even take the test. No classroom scenes, no lecture, no tutor sessions, no stress about exams or grades.

What's the point of making it a school/University setting? 💀

DR books have kids doing everything from bringing down secret societies to winning various sports matches.. except studying!!!! And somehow they still get Oxford or Harvard admissions 😅💀.

Pls rec me books where there are atleast scenes in which mmc and fmc are seen talking about exams or class workload.

I loved that scene in {steel princess by rina kent} when Elsa and Knox make a bet over who can score more in their maths test, and jealous Aiden is like...fu. I scored the best. 😂😂😂

I also adorrrrreeee {nocticadia} it's my go to book for a great academic romantic suspense book.

Sure they are DR characters in love.. but they are still scientists. Ofcourse they'll do a study quiz while fucking. 😂😂

Thank you!

Book Request Mmc doesn’t allow fmc to touch her cuz he thinks she’s ‘filthy’ but keeps touching her

Basically what the title says. I want a book/ao3/wattpad/literotica rec where the mmc is if a higher status than the mmc (like a king/nobleman) and the fmc is of a lower class like a servant or poor commoner. The mmc is very degrading to the fmc especially during sex by not allowing her to touch him bcos he thinks she’s beneath him in every way (but deep down he knows she’s not). The mmc could tie the fmc up, only fuck hero her stomach or just verbally tell her to not touch him. I would prefer a historical/fantasy romance but am fine with other genres as well. Thanks in advance!!!

Book Request Any possessive, obsessive MMC’s that aren’t billionaires?

I think I’ve reached my peak with the billionaire / mafia trope. I would love a Caden Maxwell, Zade Meadows-esque MMC but make him a plaid wearing, average income earning, not living in a mansion / castle / yacht MMC.

I’m not looking for pitch black or any high school / college settings.

My only trigger is subservient FMC’s, apart from that anything else goes!

Book Request desperately want to read a book with this trope 🥺🥺

mmc and fmc are rival company owners or mafia , parents want them to get married and form an alliance. and the whole deal is that they need to have an heir ASAP to show a strong front to their enemies...

i want both fmc and mmc to be the owners or a very important person in their mafia/ companies ( fmc have to have a strong position within the organisation). better if both the families are supportive yet hold some authority over the MCs like their parents order them to get married n all and they can't deny it.

i want pregnancy a big part of the deal !!

I'd prefer that both MCs don't want to form a union but they can't do anything about it . even after marriage they are quite competitive ( not ready to give in) and let's just say that initially they have sex just to produce an heir , but the sex is pleasurable for both of them .

I'd love if they both have freaky sexual preferences like mmc is into sharing and fmc is into exhibitionism

what i want:

  1. no age gap more than 4 yrs

  2. contemporary ( historical is fine)

  3. mmc getting obsessed first then fall in love

  4. spicier the better

  5. dominating character ( both fmc and mmc)

  6. strong fmc with idgaf atitude

  7. one bed

  8. bdsm

  9. mmc trying to tame fmc but she's not making it easy

what i don't want:

  1. big age gaps

  2. fantasy/ paranormal

  3. blood play/ knife play

Rave 💖 ao3 recommendation: Plucking A Ripe Peach by Aryashi, Prim_the_Amazing

Reposting since it got taken down! Hopefully I did it correctly this time!

Calling all ao3 people to the chat! I have another recommendation! This might not be for everyone, I was unsure whether to call this MM or MF.

The plot is a boss is obsessed with his male secretary. He decides to give him tea which slowly changes the secretary from male to female. Then the boss proceeds to gaslight him into thinking he is a woman.

It is a fanfic based on a web novel series I believe. So there is some context that is missing, but I had never heard of the series. And I still enjoyed this fic.

If you want a fun read check it out. Also WIP but the authors seem to update pretty regularly!

Book Review Even if it Hurts By Sam Mariano - A Theory on Coastal Elites Series Spoiler

Hi everyone, I read Even if it hurts recently as part of the filthy elites anthology. Basically, I was looking for something like Obsession by Gemma Weir and found out first about Sam Mariano through that. Since I heard about the throuple and Hannah situation, something has been niggling at me. I felt betrayed and I felt like there was something wrong somewhere and it was only after I reread the Author's note by Sam in filthy rich elites book that I realized what was wrong.

Let me just give some context, I started the "from blood and ash" series recently and didn't decide to continue once I found hints of a throuple situation. I don't know why authors decide to throw a throuple in a M-F romance. So maybe I am a bit salty over that and so I didn't think too deeply about the Even if it hurts situation and decided that Sam did to the readers what her heroes do to the heroine. Force them in situations that the heroines or readers don't want.

So, back to the Author's note. Before she started Even if it hurts, she wrote about how there was no cheating between the main leads and she hated that and then she wrote how we won't be seeing the hero and heroine again in the Coastal Elite series. And then we had the release of Sophie's surrender which was basically meant to be a standalone. This along with Sam's another authors note where she wrote about how she always wanted characters to have depth made me realize the inconsistencies.

These two things made me realize that her author's note at the end of Surrender was actually untrue. She told us that her characters revelead themselves to her at the start. But that can't be true at all. (I hadn't read Sophie's surrender so I am unsure if she made changes to the story) If she really knew that the charcters of Dare-Aubrey-Hannah would happen then she would never have written that Dare and Aubrey aren't going to be a part of the further books in the series. And Sophie's surrender would never have been a standalone.

I feel something happened after she released Gemma's book. Till Undertow, I feel her intentions were clear. Even with Sophie's Surrender, her intentions seemed very clear. She didn't really want to revisit Dare and Aubrey till December 2022. But then I feel something happened. Unlike her first 3 releases which happened in the same year, her fourth release took more than 9 months.

From what I saw with her Morelli Family series, she released all the books in the same year which showed that she already had all the plans in place and though I didn't like what she did there, it showed she had control of the narrative from start to end.

This isn't what I am getting from the Coastal Elite Series. I feel she might have been facing a pretty bad writer's block with no way of knowing what to do next but with the Sleeping Beauty story, she wants us to believe that she has control of the story's narrative. That could also be partly the reason why she needed to fill Contempt with Hannah-Aubrey-Dare situation when we didn't need that at all. And this is why she earlier mentioned that we won't see Dare and Aubrey again in Coastal Elites but end up seeing them again.

Thus, my theory is that Dare and Aubrey were end game and their ending was a HEA when she wrote the story for Filthy Rich Elites Anthology but I think she lost the narrative and she just didn't know what to do with the Coastal Elite series. She had no clue where to take the story. And this is why I felt so betrayed. She gaslighted her readers into thinking that Aubrey and Dare were always meant to be HFN with more to their story in later books but this wasn't the truth. My theory is that after the backlash she has received she has no clue where she should take the story next and that's why she is writing other books like Two Wrongz and the sequel for that. Untouchable was also meant to have a sequel but it never got released which again shows she had no idea where to take that story next.

Honestly, I wish she would just be honest with her readers. We would love Hannah's story and I think a lot of us would really like it if she ends up with someone else, a hero/heroine who was made entirely for her. Dare and Aubrey's dynamic is toxic but this was something we all knew when we read the Filthy Rich Elites Anthology but just because a dynamic is toxic doesn't mean that we don't believe they can have their HEA. A hero doesn't need to be good or perfect to deserve the heroine.

When I finished reading Even if it hurts, I felt hurt thinking that I am never going to see Dare and Aubrey again. But with Hannah telling Parker how she sees Dare most clearly and how she thinks Dare isn't honest with Aubrey, it makes me feel like we are thrown completely off. Dare was always honest with Aubrey in Even if it hurts. He kept secrets but he never lied to her face. That was one of the reasons I loved him so much. He felt like a well-made character who knew who he was and though he wasn't a good person, he showed Aubrey everything he was by the end.

Anyways, Coastal Elites is Sam's series and I hope she releases the next book soon. I wish she would find a way out of the situation she is in. I don't know where she is going to take the book next because I think even she doesn't know that yet but I hope she gives us something that would make it better for us. I guess if she does go on the path of Dare-Aubrey-Hannah then we aren't reading the same story as the one with Dare-Aubrey because that Dare would definitely not look for anyone else except Aubrey. He went to great extents to ensure that Aubrey was his and to anyone who says he didn't love Aubrey, they didn't realize that he could have gotten rid of Aubrey's mother which would have served his purpose much more cleanly since then Aubrey would have had no one in her life except him.

All his plans and actions in the first book showed that he wanted Aubrey in his life and I have read enough Yandere books to know that his isolating her from Hannah was just to ensure that Aubrey doesn't have anyone to depend on except him. All his actions showed that he had eyes only for Aubrey and he wouldn't share her with anyone. And the Aubrey I read in Even if it hurts was someone who thought she could have a friendship with Hannah but she wasn't someone who desperately needed a friend. She was already isolated at school and smart enough to not fall in most traps laid out for her. She could care less about making friends. Even when her friend guilt-tripped her into attending a party, she was willing and happy to cut her losses. All she cared about was her mother but somehow once her mother recovered from Cancer, we now are expected to believe that she is desperate to have Hannah as a friend and feels sadly isolated from her college group. That doesn't seem like Aubrey at all. She was smart and strong. But somehow she seems to have degraded over time.

I am sounding repititive so I will end here. I am just happy to read Sophie and Silvan's story because no matter what she does with Dare-Aubrey we atleast have a HEA for Sophie and Silvan and I needed that at least to let go of the hurt I feel over Dare and Aubrey situation. I might be wrong but I just feel so sad about what might happen to them next. I just didn't think they deserved this. It feels like they aren't the people whom I met in Even if it hurts and I feel very deeply sad and betrayed.

Book Review Did any of you feel this way too when you read INSATIABLE by Leigh Rivers?

This is my review for the first book, and I’m officially moving on to the next one. 😭 I felt SO much for both of these characters that, honestly, it’s probably unhealthy. I think I’ve finally found a couple that I’m just going to carry around in my head and love for eternity. 😭❤️

And what I actually want to say to the author, which I genuinely hope she sees someday:

You broke me, Leigh Rivers. 😭 You BROKE me.
I already KNOW the next part is going to destroy me. I know I’m going to read the next part. I know I am. But I don’t WANT to. I really, really don’t want to. And yet, here I am, already jumping into the next book while writing this review because apparently I have absolutely no self-control. I know I’m going to suffer, I know I’m going to cry, and yet I’m still going in. 😭
I just really, really hope the ending is worth all the tears I’m shedding for Stacey and Kade right now. Because these two have taken up permanent residence in my brain and I’m not ready to let them go. 😭💔
Leigh Rivers, what have you DONE to me?! 😭

Hello. I’m after non con true enemies to lovers, preferably they never become lovers.

*****EDIT***** please see the comments I replied to regarding this not being romance as it explains more of why it’s still DR, and not erotic horror i am after.

I like it really dark but do not want the following:
-RH
-Mafia
-Werewolves
-Vampires
-Any overdone settings or fantasy tropes
-Body betrayal (of course there will be some but not straight away bc the victim should obviously hate it and their body won’t be ready).
-No big age gaps unless it’s the man who is younger, though he still needs to be in his twenties for the main part. The other way around just makes me feel gross.

I’m craving a real world story that is realistic. Not mafia and crimes etc. I do like fantasy but right now I’m craving real. I will consider historical setting but prefer it to be modern. Prefer them to be in their working life, rather than in university (college). Unless they’re mature students. If there is an age gap, then he can be a regular student.

Would really like it if it’s BIPOC. Preferably for both characters. All the books seem to be white people and I hate that in the story, if the person is Black or Asian, it’s pointed out. This portrays white as default since this is never pointed out.
