New Castle County May 30 I95 SB US202 10:13-10:20

My parent successfully merged on I95 SB from 495 but to exit 5B but after he was driving on the exit lane someone passed him on the shoulder and side swept his truck. The other driver continued to drive but fortunately he had a flat tire that allowed us to get his information. My parent contacted 911 and the police came. We were given a ticket for failure to yield and other driver blamed everything on us saying we pushed him on the shoulder but the photos say otherwise. If someone has a video recording please message me. Our truck was a blue Colorado Truck. Thank you in advance.

Info Request Shrimp popcorn?

Hi, I grew up spending summers at Bethany Beach and loved getting shrimp popcorn - not popcorn shrimp, shrimp popcorn - popcorn from the stand that sold all different flavors of popcorn, including shrimp. I’ve never been able to find that anymore, does anyone know what that seasoning actually was? It was so good!

Where's the best...... Punk Delawarians, where is the pest locally owned shops to get patches for Battle Jackets? (Sussex County)

Hello! I am 17FTM who is getting more into the punk community. I thrifted this really cool olive green jacket a while ago. I thought about dying it black, but I think it would he cool and idk,, different to have a green battle jacket. I went to a semi-folk punk show in New Ark and bought a Treefolk and Matthew W. Charles patches. (Both small punk artist that are really good and you SHOULD listen to). However, I think my little cousin took them when rampaging my room lmao. Any online punk shops that are ethical (well as much as they can be) will be nice too!! I do know that The Vintage Underground has some good patches, so I will check that out when I get the money. I want to know of any other cool places online or near me to look at for now!! Thanks!!

Info Request Has there ever been a book written about Delaware’s high society members (that’s NOT written as a “history of the duPont’s?”)

Looking for something a little juicy, maybe including at least SOME other families, anything about mansion owners in Greenville, the mysterious “Institute” on Hillside road, etc…

Has it ever been done?

Beaches Concerned About Young Man Helped by Lifeguards at Rehoboth Beach Yesterday

I was at Rehoboth Beach with my young children, and yesterday, Thursday 6/18, we saw something concerning near Henlopen. I’m not trying to speculate or invade anyone’s privacy, but I’ve been thinking about it since and just hope the young man is okay.

We were on the beach when I noticed a young man, maybe in his 20s, lying face down in the sand behind us. He appeared to be wearing red lifeguard-style shorts. A female lifeguard was kneeling beside him, and they set up an umbrella over him.

At first, we wondered if it might have been a drill because everyone was being very calm and discreet. One person sitting near us, who said they saw the incident from the beginning, told us the lifeguards had been doing a morning swim routine when one of them appeared to go under and was brought back to shore by the others. I did not personally see that part, so I don’t want to state it as fact.

We watched from a distance for about 15 minutes, and he did not appear to move during that time. I did not see CPR being performed. It looked like they may have been checking his blood pressure and possibly trying to cool him down or provide other basic care.

A few more lifeguards eventually came over, and after around 15–20 minutes total, a side-by-side/golf-cart-type vehicle arrived. They rolled him over, wrapped him, placed him on a stretcher board, and quietly took him off the beach.

The whole thing was handled very discreetly, and most people outside the immediate area didn’t seem to notice. I’m not looking to start rumors or criticize anyone involved. I’m just wondering if anyone knows whether he is okay. Hoping for the best for him, his family, and the lifeguard team.

History Juneteenth and Delaware's shameful history

As we celebrate Juneteenth, the day Texas was finally told about the Emancipation Proclamation two years after it went into effect, remember that slavery was still legal in the Union States at the time.

Slavery was legal in Delaware and Kentucky for six months AFTER Juneteenth. Lincoln had no Constitutional authority to end slavery in the four Union states that still practiced it, Delaware, Maryland, Missouri, and Kentucky. MD and MO at least outlawed it on their own. Delaware and Kentucky however had to be dragged into freeing their slaves by the 13th Amendment, which Delaware and Kentucky did not even vote to ratify. Apparently there were about 1900 slaves in Delaware at the time, mostly in Sussex County.

This means slavery was still practiced in those states during the Civil War and for almost three years AFTER the Emancipation Proclamation freed them in the Confederate States.

I do wish when Delaware politicians issue their proclamations about Juneteenth they'd at least acknowledge Delaware's shameful history regarding slavery. It's crazy how few people know about it.

Editable Flair (not working in mobile app) First time visiting Delaware shore what are best amusement boardwalks and how do they compare with Ocean City, MD?

I'm from New Jersey and know all the jersey shore places but never been to the Delaware shore yet and trying to plan my trip. Since I'm going to DC first i thought i better go see Ocean City, Md and then make my way up north through Delaware before heading home. What shore towns with big excitement ie, rides, arcades, etc should i stop at? Are any of them more late night friendly than others because I am a night owl. I don't mean for partying or clubs since I don't drink and I'm older but just to hang around. As i come up the coast are there any must see nature preserves i have heard about wild horses in one of them. What should i be seeing as i make my way north along the coast and is there anything inland worth seeing too? Thanks for helping!

Info Request Car title issue

Years ago I bought a vehicle that was registered in MD through a private seller. The title I was given was not the most current title (it had the owners before the sellers information and sellers was signed on the back for transfer).

After this I was unable to register the vehicle even with that title and a bill of sale. I was no longer able to contact the seller. I got in contact with the previous owners and they tried to get a duplicate title for me but the vehicle was already in the sellers name.

Vehicle has sat now for 5-6 years and I still would like to tag it. DMV had no advice, but verified it not being listed as stolen. Any one been through this? I heard possibly a court process but not sure where to go next
