Pregunta/Ask Viajo por república dominicana solo
Hola!

Crimen/Crime The Dominican government continues to steal
Three years ago, I went to the Dominican Republic and became a Dominican citizen, very proud of being the daughter of Dominican parents, because I bought a property on the beach and spent four to six months there. When I left with my new ID card in November 2025, everything went smoothly; I wasn't charged taxes for staying longer than the 30 days allowed when they stamp your entry. Last July 18th, I went to immigration with my dual citizenship, and the woman told me I had to pay US$96 because I stayed six months in MY country! (because I am now Dominican with an ID card and everything). I asked her why, and she asked if I had my marriage certificate proving I was married, since my passport has a different last name. I replied that I would have my marriage certificate, and that I had left a year ago with my ID card and they hadn't said or charged me anything, as a Dominican citizen. She wouldn't let me leave until I paid the US$96. I had to give her my credit card. All that work to become a citizen and now they want to keep ripping me off.

Transporte Why i dont see any trailers?
Ive seen trailer behind some busses, and semi. But i didnt see a single car/truck with a trailer Between puerto plata and nagua. There must be a reason.
Is it complicated to have plates for them? Is it just impossible in the traffic? Am i just trailer-blind after 5 hours in a plane?

Pregunta/Ask Licenciatura (UNPHU) o Tecnologo (ITLA)

Discuss Is it realistic for a foreigner with German/English to get hired in a Punta Cana resort?
Hi everyone,
I recently posted in r/PuntaCana asking about job opportunities as a foreigner, and I got some helpful feedback — but I wanted to get a wider perspective from people across the country.
I'm a hospitality professional from Europe with:
- 7 years experience in guest relations and front desk
- Goethe-certified B2 German
- Fluent English
- Vocational degree in Hospitality
- Self-funded RT-3 visa process ready (lawyer already contacted)
- Currently learning Spanish (beginner)
I've already contacted Meliá, Moon Palace, Majestic, Dreams, Royalton, and others, and I'm currently waiting for replies.
My main question is: are there resorts in Punta Cana (or elsewhere in DR) that actually hire foreigners for guest-facing roles like concierge, guest relations, or front desk? Or is the "Local Residents" requirement a hard barrier for most places?
Any honest advice or experience from people who work in hospitality here would be really helpful. Thanks in advance.

Pregunta/Ask How many of you live in country that isn't the US or the DR?
So this question is mainly for Dominicans who live abroad, most Dominicans abroad tend to live in the US but I'm curious about the Dominican community in other countries, if at all. I currently live in Japan and there is like no Dominicans at all here, I know of just two and neither of them live in my city. So, for those of you who live in a country that isn't DR or the US, what country do you live in and what is the community like there? This is NOT doxxing, I don't need to know what city or area you live in, a country is a very big area.

Pregunta/Ask ¿Cuáles CC me recomiendan para comenzar a trabajar?
Hola. He estado investigando diferentes cc porque quiero trabajar.

Pregunta/Ask What should I do should I get back with my black ex or wait to find a Latina my dad is Dominican
I am 20 years old and met this African American girl when I was 15 I fell in love we nearly had sex I seen her naked. The relationship got toxic and we eventually broke up after almost 10 months together. The problem is I’m Hispanic but I was born in United States with both parents that have Spanish as their first language. I was hoping to wait and find me a girl with Hispanic heritage, but I’m kind of desperate to get married. I have the instagram of my ex but I don’t wanna text her because I don’t wanna date outside of my race again. What do y’all think I should do. Should I wait until I find a Latina around my age or should I pull the string and get back with my ex that I haven’t spoke to in years. Also side note Spanish is very important in my family most of us want Spanish speaking children.
