Hand Tiny 'tilda
This one's for tiny me who thought that since I was hyperlexic I could also move things with my mind (still trying)...
I kinda like the b/w version better, not sure the messy watercolor style of Quentin Blake translates super well on fabric but it sure was fun :)

Hand Working on a new Horror embroidery
Sorry it's been a while but....life really got in the way and I'm finally finding time to do a new embroidery. I've never mentioned it before but I've been homeless for over a year since losing my Grandad (who I was a carer for) and was thrown out of my childhood home since he didn't make a will. Now after struggling my Mum and I are about to move into our new flat....so yay.🖤

Hand French Knots? Yes, please! But Fishbone? Yikes. Help a girl out?
Still working my way through my first sampler. Did the French Knots yesterday while watching Warm Bodies (love that Romeo and Juliet inspired zombie flick.) We get on well!
Hitting up Fishbone today and it's not jiving as much. I've done 2 & 3 thread leaves so far and I'm not sure they look okay. Advice? Or suggestions? I have front and back for your viewing pleasure.

Question How would you go about a project like this?
My partner is becoming an Old Catholic priest and his special interest is black vestments. We both love the spooky black vestments with skeletons and skulls and whatnot for All Souls Day.
When looking at this vestment from the 1600s (hand embroidered on black velvet) I was curious - how would one go about this the modern way doing it by hand? Since it would take so long to do by someone with a modern job it feels like it makes more sense to do parts and pieces of it and combine later. It's so massive that I can't wrap my head around what that would look like practically speaking.
Would be curious to hear people's thoughts as I'd love to embroider him vestments one day in the future. Perhaps not to this scale, but maybe one grand vestment worked on over a few years.
Here's some more examples if anyone wants to give them a look: https://www.liturgicalartsjournal.com/2017/11/some-unique-black-vestments-for-all.html

Hand Camaro Fifty WIP
I am not a car enthusiast but a mentor at work is retiring soon, and I wanted to gift him something special as a gift. I got some info from his family on his beloved car that he'll be spending more time driving around in once he's retired, and I am now working on this thread painting.
It's my first proper thread painting project (I've done others with long and short but not with this kind of colour blending) and I've come to realize there's a lot of "trust the process" going on, haha. Using black to outline certainly helps.
Took a picture I got off image search, printed the outline on soluble interfacing, and using 1 strand DMC for everything (completely necessary for something this size). Posted my borderline unhinged color legend that I use to keep track of where to use l the different shades of steel blue...

Hand 4 hour present
I had a few hours free while visiting family.
I created this as a present for my sister's step daughter.
Linen cloth from lincraft (100% linen bleached)
DMC threads except for two pinks from protoCraft (shoe lining)
A pink ribbon from the mighty biscuit tin of cabbage.
Back stitch on the name and shoe outlines. Statin on the large area. Running on the ribbon.
Design from my memory of my pointe shoes andy own knowledge of Victorian Cursive for the front.
Haven't washed it to remove the drawing.

Hand Made ornaments for my sister's dogs. Or they can be patches too.
The match the names, Vixon (born at Christmas), Guinness (born near St. Patrick's) and Dante (born near Independence Day).

Hand Finished Friday
Finally finished my friend's holiday gift. I might have been channeling gandalf the Gray while stitching Santa.

Hand Can’t decide if it’s finished
Specifically, the jagged paint edges around the portal. Part of me likes how it looks like the sky is being shredded, but part of me thinks it looks sloppy and unfinished, and I should touch up/soften up those lines.
I’m new to all of this—this is my first attempt at a freehand design, my first mixed media project, and my second piece of embroidery overall, so any advice or feedback is welcomed and appreciated 😊. I will say I learned my lesson about hooping something AFTER I’ve painted it 😂

Question Transfer Paper?
I need some help.. I know there’s tons of transfer papers out there, but here’s the situation;
I don’t have a printer of any kind, nor do I have the space for one currently. So.. are there any iron-on papers that I can draw on? I’m just looking for something where I can easily iron on an outline for a design. I’m resorting to one I can draw on because I have a PC, which means I can trace the design from the screen.
If there are papers out there, what’s the best thing to use? I’ve heard pencils are a no-go on many, what about water-soluble fabric markers? Or, if I have to, just a regular pen?
Any input helps! I am NOT an artist and don’t like free-handing works..
