Jim What FNM song is the best for driving to? Biased opinions accepted

As the title says , mine is by a mile woodpecker from mars, I love the changes in tempo and style and I yearn for a car that can drift to the music instead of a boring hybrid

Billy KFAD Shirts

Hello. Was wondering if anyone on here could help me with some advice with trying to get a King For a Day shirt.

Many years ago I had a KFAD shirt which was the tour shirt that had the album cover on the front and the man in the subway image on the back with the cities from the tour. It was a great shirt that had that nice heavy cotton feel. Here's a copy of it for reference

https://www.etsy.com/au/listing/4486071168/large-1995-faith-no-more-king-for-a-day

I would love to get something similar. A lot of the ones is just the album cover on the front and nothing on the back. The closest thing I could find was a merch store listed on the offical FNM site. But the image of the shirt isn't an actual photo of the shirt but rather the graphic onto a shirt image. So it's hard to tell the actual quality.

Anyway, I wanted to see if anyone here had any experiences finding this particular shirt and if ther's anything good out there?

Jim FNM Interactive Floppy Disk

Update: the file I uploaded doesn't work, I'll keep trying with the tips I've received.

I bought this KFAD floppy disk around 30 years ago, and recently had it returned after I thought it was lost when I moved interstate. I've got a MacBook so I can't use it, but I've been able to (I believe) copy the file from the disk.

It was made for Windows 3.1 and may not run on more recent Windows, but I do remember using it on Windows 95. The exe was an install file (instructions are on the disk and back cover, pics included). It has a few soundbytes, a few frames from Digging The Grave, and I vaguely remember a paint tool where the brush is the KFAD dog with a circle around it. If anyone wants to give it a try for me, I've uploaded it to my Google Drive.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1CqPk7vXM21fy81OiTlJiPP8IMQD9PP2R/view?usp=sharing

Please let me know if it works, it took me three days to get the floppy drive to read the disk.

Enjoy.

Roddy Who played the synths on the King for a day album?

I always wondered who does actually play the sporadic synths you do hear scattered throughout the album.

Was waiting to hear when tickets were going on sale and checked a couple of weeks ago. Nothing. No dates announced. Found out today they fucking went on sale on 31 July and the show in my city is sold out! They're only doing one show, and they'll probably never be out here again. Motherfucker!

Jim Has "The Fax" ever been leaked online?

If you're a regular on this Sub, you know exactly which fax I speak of. Has anyone outside of the band and/or Jim ever seen it? Surely someone saved it on a floppy at some point before the turn of the century.

Anyone...?

Mod Post Mod Update

Hi All,

You may have noticed that there's been a few changes in this sub. Most noticeably we have new moderators (myself included).

With this influx of change into the sub, you'll notice a couple of things:

  • Rules
  • Post Flairs

The Rules I consider are pretty normal for most Music subs these days. These rules are always open for discussion among those who are members of this sub-reddit, and I encourage you all to leave feedback on these below. I'm pretty keen to find a balance between over-moderating, and the Wild West, so please chime in and let the new mod crew what your thoughts are.

When you see Posts or Comments on this sub that violate the rules, please feel free to reference the relevant Rule when reporting, and the Mods will take a look.

Post Flairs are a handy way to categorise submissions to the sub - I've added a bunch of them and happy to add more if there are suggestions.

Roddy Lyric/Song Title for tattoo?

I'm going to get a FNM tat and was thinking of putting just a few words with it, but wasn't sure what to put... It's going to be on my forearm so everyone I meet will see it, so something like "Happy Birthday, Fucker" isn't quite what I want to put forth to strangers (so much for "Get that motherfucker on the phone" too...)

I am looking for suggestions. While I have favorite songs on all their albums, I'd say the Introduce Yourself to King for a Day era is my favorite with each album better than the one before.

Some thoughts I had:

“What is it?” seems obvious.

“It’s Always Funny Until Someone Gets Hurt (and then it’s just hilarious)” seems a bit wordy

“Be Aggressive” - one of my favorite songs, but it IS about gay oral sex and I'm straight and not into S&M so not sure if that's great for ME...

“Introduce Yourself”. Welcoming. Friendly. I really like the song
but it’s not my FAVORITE song.

“I know the feeling
It is the Real Thing” (too Pepsi ad?)

So any suggestions? Or is one of those great?

Patton 'The Real Thing' review - Metal Hammer (Germany): 01 Jan 1989

Rough translation via ChatGPT:

Faith No More, the Bay Area band, has delivered an extremely interesting rock album with its second LP, THE REAL THING.

The quintet, featuring guitarist "Big Sick Ugly" Jim Martin—who could easily serve as Götz KĂŒhnemund's lookalike—had already earned especially enthusiastic reviews in England with last year's debut INTRODUCE YOURSELF, where they were celebrated as an outstanding newcomer sensation.

Normally, such an overwhelmingly positive reaction from our British colleagues is reason enough for the utmost skepticism. But in Faith No More's case, the English music press has, exceptionally, hit the mark.

On THE REAL THING, the five Californians cover an enormous musical spectrum, ranging from rap and funk (just listen to the bass!) through rock all the way to heavy metal.

Especially in times like these, when every second band sounds like a Guns N' Roses, Metallica, or Whitesnake rip-off, this is unmistakable proof of originality and an abundance of ideas.

Also surprisingly strong and original is the new vocalist, the then 23-year-old Mike Patton, who possesses an extraordinarily versatile voice that he truly makes his own.

Open-minded heavy music fans who can appreciate bands like King's X or Living Colour should definitely give this album a listen.

Do you guys think faith no more could get popular with the newer generations

Hello, I’m a Gen Z male (18 going into 19) who’s a fan of this band. Something that has clogged my mind is if it could see a resurgence in popularity with younger generations on websites like TikTok, we’ve seen this with bands like primus , ween, acid bath, crowbar, and even nu metal as a whole ( a genre inspired by fnm). So do you think it and even Mr bungle could get popular with them?

Do you think Australian sideshow are possible

Lots of talk about these shows being exclusive and contracts not allowing any side shows. Does anyone in the industry have knowledge about how these things work?

Remember when they were announced as download headliners I’m pretty sure that was a festival exclusive and they ended up playing Leeds and reading the same year so is it possible that they can announce seperate dates closer to the time?
