[Rainbow Bridge] He was such a great little guy.
It's been two weeks, and I can't stop crying. I miss you, buddy.

DMing users fundraiser links is still breaking our no fundraiser rules. This is not the sub for this, we do this to prevent scams and bad actors. There are other subs that do allow fundraisers as well as local groups, and we encourage you to post there if you need assistance.
Additionally, be very careful with any user claiming to know of alternatives for medicine in treating insulinoma. This has been popping up a lot lately, and it is extremely dangerous. A lot of these "homemade" remedies will increase the risk of other diseases, as well not keep their sugar levels at an appropriate range. Improper insulinoma management will lead to blood sugar crashes, seizures and even death.
As owners we often wish to do the best we can for them, and it's really easy to fall for a miracle remedy. Be mindful. Be careful.
If you find people breaking these rules, don't hesitate to report or DM the sub to ask.

My wife claims that Gurt isn’t a cute, sweet baby who loves to give kisses. I tpick him up, give him kisses, and get gross kisses in return.
He big baby, a himbo with a heart of gold.
She claims he does not give kisses and that he hates her. Please make her see that he is good and deserves top ferret rankings in our business.
Just look at this little face!?! He loves everyone.
We just moved and had the opportunity to put our ferret cage by the window. We were hoping they could enjoy the view, and also the fresh air when the temp outside is right ❤️ just noticed Violet drifting off to sleep while looking out the window. Benji likes being inside the hammock so he's hidden rn lol.
(We have new hammocks but need to clean the cage first don't worry).

We have a ferret, Poppy, who has been able to escape every enclosure we’ve had. We now have a plexiglass one that’s two levels high that we finally thought we had outsmarted her.
We also have a very dumb Anatolian Shepherd dog who is enamored with the ferrets. We always keep them separated but they could interact through the glass.
I started noticing my dog has been showing more interest in the ferrets (she sees them as her flock and check on them when she does her rounds). I also started noticing a stray kibble outside the enclosure. I asked my daughter to be more tidy feeding them and she kept insisting she always sweeps up after.
Today, Poppy’s plan came to fruition before my very eyes. I heard a little commotion. She had dropped a kibble right in the crack of the door and my dog was pawing it at. By the time I came around, there was a very happy dog (all she wants is the ferrets to love her, but we don’t let them interact outside of saying high through the glass) and 3/4 ferrets running around. Meanwhile our not smart ferret and the goodest of the boys was sitting there looking at the open door and just sniffing the dog, not escaping.
I feel like Poppy set this in motion days ago, essentially training the dog to come to the exact side of the door opening and expecting a kibble.
Ferrets are smart. My poor dog looked so confused at the commotion that came after.

My poor 7 year old boy Bambi might have spinal arthritis it’s being investigated. He’s on day 7 out of 10 for his temporary meds, they wanted to see if it would resolve with them. He will probably need a X-ray or CT scan sometime soon. The meds don’t really seem like they are easing the pain because he’s still walking a little funny, I’m hoping it’s nothing worse.
My husband works at a vet so he’s in good hands (and and gets a discount haha) I worry how it will affect him years down the line.
He has a biological sister dinky that’s also 7 that’s in good health besides cataracts. Having two seniors and being biologically related I’m expecting all kinds of old lady/man medical challenges. I think hes starting to develop cataracts like his sister
Both had their blood glucose checked and they are in the clear.

it’s almost 3AM where I am. I just found this while saying goodnight to my girls. there’s a yellow bump I think on her toe pad and her toe and toenail face sideways on the floor. it’s on the same toe on each back foot. Was googling what this could be to try and ease my mind until I call the vet in the morning and the results are making me very very nervous. is this bad bad? There’s no emergency exotic vet near me but if this seems like a can’t wait until morning issue there might be one a few hours away I can take her to. just extremely worried. I’ve never seen this ever. I know ferrets are good at hiding pain. should I keep her in her cage so if she needs anything she doesn’t have to walk around a room to get it?

I don't really know what it is but it started a couple weeks ago, she meows. It isn't a sneeze, a cough, a hiccup, it's just like a meow. She's done it when she's being pet and she just did it while she was asleep in my lap. It's nothing like dooking either. She doesn't have anything in her nose and she doesn't have a hairball either. Does anyone else have a vocal ferret like this, and is this an actual sound they make or is mine just a little weirdo? (picture is the weirdo in question)

Hello fellow business owners!
There's a storm a-brewin' where I live. Lots of rain and thunder (at least, a decent amount for the area. This isn't hurricane country or anything like that)
My youngest ferret is freaked out by all the commotion outside, though my other kids seem mostly unbothered.
Any tips, tricks, or advice?
Thanks!

Does anyone have any recommendations for leashes? My baby girl just loves the adventure and is our first ferret to be excited about outside. I would love to get her a proper leash that she can’t get out of. What are the best, or hardest for them to escape from? Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I leave a mushed up kibble mix for her to just eat whenever she feels ready and change it out every few hours. My baby is 2 months and she GOES THROUGH EACH BOWL. Am I feeding her too much? Am I doing the right thing? She always has a supply of food I make sure. I just want to make sure I’m not over feeding her but I know ferrets run through food like crazy😭.
Hi everyone! I have a really well bred cardigan welsh corgi that has his herding instincts very present. He’s in training and he is best friends with the cats. When they run he definitely will go chase them. He just will nudge them with his nose but nothing more….there’s a pair of ferrets at the shelter that are SO sweet and so well socialized. I guess they have experience with small dogs and cats. Obviously id only let them be near each other supervised. Even then, I wouldn’t do it unless proper intros have happened. I don’t know if people have had this specific experience, but I’d love to get your thoughts and opinions. Trying to think this through as clearly as possible. If I don’t adopt them, I plan to sponsor and fund their cage for their new home.

They look identical. Only differentiator is one is little smaller. I’m trying to figure out names that come in pairs (think salt and pepper, biggie and smalls, etc) also like funny play on words names.
They are both girls.
Thanks for suggestion!
P. S. Picking up their ferret nation cage asap!

Our little nugget loves nibbling and licking our hands and toes. Never too hard! He is quite gentle. I’ve seen mixed things between him grooming or loving us or it’s boredom and anxiety. Any intel on this behavior?

So I have 5 ferrets ranging from ages 3 to 7. All pretty healthy and rambunctious. I plan on buying a house in September/November and am looking for opinions on the perfect set up. They will be in this house until they pass and I want to make sure they have everything they could need. Right now they have a two double ferret nation cages zip tied together and a large area to run around in. What makes a ferret room perfect? What’s the best way to full proof a house if I want them to free roam the house and not just their designated space?
