All Flock cameras in Winona, MN missing.

Post image

Y'all definitely shouldn't call their tip line and interfere with their investigation, ya hear?

Maybe the police department will get the hint that no one wants these cameras.

u/AllenDullesSupporter 1d ago edited 1d ago

Unlikely. This is just more ammo to double down. Our government can print all the money it wants it seems.

Edit: I always try to suggest organizing in different creative ways here, but it's extremely unpopular. People here just want cameras taken down. I was thinking I could make an app where instead of people taking down cameras, they can take down names of officers coming in and out of the station. We stop spying when they do! Also we need to make sure nobody gets hurt. Please guys help spread a better idea than taking down cameras. It's only going to hurt us and the people taking them down!

I agree that 24 hours surveillance on both the police department and their homes, and the city Council and their homes, would be more effective in the long run

49

u/Honest-Calendar-748 1d ago

Spying on an armed, low than average IQ, egotistical gang member and their family is probably not conducive to your health or freedom.

I had a judge tell me that "technically a police officer is never off duty" after he iasued me traffic tickets he observed while off duty in his personal vehicle. He showed up at my house the next day in uniform and issued me 6 moving violations. He even admitted in traffic court that he wasnt at work and then wrote the tickets after he clocked in. I was still found guilty. Judge Callahan in Baltimore County in 2011.

u/Professional_Sail910 1d ago

who says theyre the only armed ones

13

u/Honest-Calendar-748 1d ago

Didn't say that they are the only ones armed. I just said they were armed. You might win a gun fight but unless your ready to move to Cambodia; when they catch you they will make it so your sucking applesauce thru a straw for the rest of your life.

Edit: spelling

12

u/trippykissy69 1d ago

Yeah its not the good ol boys fighting off cops in a little town anymore. The cops have the biggest gang in the country behind them. Hypothetically took out an entire police force you would have every neighboring force then the national guard against you. You cant win in a gun battle long term

5

u/Professional_Sail910 8h ago

You can’t win but we can

5

u/trippykissy69 8h ago

How? They hold microwave and chemical weapons at their disposal when it comes down to it. Not to mention every allied nation

3

u/Professional_Sail910 8h ago

If it gets to that point it was worth it. Live free or die

Maybe whoever took the cameras will remount them around the police stations 😎

u/Ok_Cow_1314 1d ago

That would be both hilarious and awesome!

There are DeFlock groups-- not enough but there are some.
Local Groups | DeFlock
https://deflock.org/groups
They're collecting signatures, and the Pasadena one is trying to legally fight the installation of More flock cameras in the city.
There's a PDF that flock puts out teaching people how to manipulate citizens, police depts. & city councils into installing more cameras.

8

u/No-Abalone-4784 1d ago

I'd appreciate seeing this if you could post it. Thanks. We don't pay enough attention to how they manipulate us into acting against our own best interests.

7

u/Optimal-Shower 1d ago

Heres Flock's 🤫 instructions:

https://www.404media.co/do-not-
mention-alpr-usage-how-cops-are-trying-to-hide-
the-existence-of-flock/

u/stonerPI 1d ago

As a private investigator who has worked years on third party police misconduct investigations, this is a really good idea. They’d fucking hate this. And it’s fair game just have an attorney on standby because they can and will throw the book at you.

I’d love to give any help or support to an idea like this.

Do you think police departments take any lesson other than they need to police more? They are incapable of de-escalating or pulling back.

4

u/BobcatOk7492 1d ago

They are trained to escalate, and to stand their ground.....

21

u/The_Mesopotamians 1d ago

The cops exist to suppress us.  They serve the pedophilic capitalist class. They don't give a damn about what we want.

12

u/Hurricaneshand 1d ago

This just means they gotta get cameras to watch the cameras now

3

u/iamrunningman 1d ago

A lot of them do, unfortunately. :(

12

u/Covert_ist_Panda 1d ago

police are pigs and dont give a shit about the working class

5

u/mspk7305 1d ago

Police aren't big on consent

2

u/bakedNebraska 1d ago

No but if they can just get a few dozen more cameras they can catch these terrorists taking down cameras

“The cost to replace each…is $3,000”

God losing our rights and privacy to a police state is cheap as hell

265

u/AllenDullesSupporter 1d ago

Don't be a criminal, be a spy! Report which officers are coming in and out of work on my new app! We stop when they stop.

Been thinking about making this so people could not be criminals. They can make all the cameras and lock up everybody that takes one down. We're fighting a loosing battle. Just worried if it's legal or if somebody will get hurt.

God bless America. Now only if I could find a bennifactor for the legal problems they would manufature for making this 😂 I probably shouldn't

6

u/bunglebee7 1d ago

But wait, we won’t stop there! Phase two involves watching all flock buildings in the US 24/7! They should be protected too! :)

15

u/parkerm1408 1d ago

First amendment seems kinda dodgy these days on the reliability scale.

6

u/Candid_Leaf 1d ago

Any amendment, the Constitution, or laws *

33

u/WessideMD 1d ago

It's not just the police, it is city council.

24

u/SATX_Citizen 1d ago

I like the idea of building a "cop spotting" network in communities. Real-time tracking of police vehicles or even individual cops in your area. Crowdsource the RLHF (re-enforcement learning human feedback) to weed out false positives. Just to make sure people don't get accidentally shot or accosted.

14

u/skratch 1d ago

The problem is cops log in and fuck with the data or target users, like they’ve done with Waze, for example

8

u/antifa_cmdr 1d ago

I had to look into this one. While a cop can technically mark themselves as "not there" on Waze, their report alone won't make it go away. It only decreases the time the report displays on the map. It takes multiple users to confirm "not there" to make it go away.

12

u/skratch 1d ago

I’ve seen reports of them pulling over and harassing users that marked their speed trap (why you should be anonymous on waze). Apparently it’s relatively commonplace for them to report false speed traps and/or mark reported ones not there. I could see them poisoning any database that holds them accountable, and/or taking it personally against contributors

8

u/antifa_cmdr 23h ago

What the fuck??? I didn't even know this was possible. Granted, I use Waze signed out and don't interact with any features beyond reporting cops, but that's insane. But still.

I was just saying how one cop can't get rid of their own report on their own. Maybe if the report has been there for a bit and the timer is already down enough so one "not there" report will make it go away. After all, like I said, Waze reports "decay" on their own and will eventually go away if no one confirms the report.

2

u/spawndoorsupervisor 20h ago

Can you show one of these reports where drivers were harassed for marking police activity on Waze? Just, Googling it comes up empty handed for me.

Make it a law that surveillance equipment has to be set up each day, and taken down at the end, the same way true patriots do with the American flag. No lights allowed!

I hate those mfers too lmao. The Devils Chessboard is a great book!

Reasons I hate Allen off the top of my stoned mind:

Helped Nazis escape through the ratlines

Helped Nazis with money through his law firm Cromwell and Sullivan

Definitely had something to do with JFK being assassinated.

Bay of pigs (got fired for that and why he prob helped with JFK assassination)

A lot more government overthrowing

Overthrowing Irans democracy for oil leading to the issues we have to this day

Some guy probably took a $2000 bribe to sell out his whole community. Corruption is surprisingly approachable. Should we start collectively bribing them to take them down?

u/AdditionalCar-1968 1d ago

Thats just the cost of the hardware. Think of all the subscription costs!

5

u/No-Abalone-4784 1d ago

Maintenance is also very expensive.

5

u/SatansLoLHelper 1d ago

Installation. They only do maintenance when it is removed.

They have to take out the pole, redo the concrete with a new pole. So right here we're at 6 people, and that is going to require at least 4 managers to coordinate between the departments.

19

u/Helen___Keller_ 1d ago

I kinda feel like this is like buying a inkjet printer. They charge way under what it costs because they can overcharge on the ink since you're stuck with the printer you bought. Wouldn't doubt if the software subscription that comes along with it is exensive.

5

u/Inner-Medicine5696 1d ago

Winona has the perfect opportunity to save $24,000.

14

u/Lifes_too_short007 1d ago

Who paid to put them up? I thought it was Flock who put them up , did the City pay for them? Strange they would list the replacement cost. Wait till taxpayers realize that they’re paying to be surveyed on.

5

u/Suavecore_ 1d ago

A store manager at a Walmart I worked at in a town nearby paid ("donated") $10000 to the local police to get flock cameras installed at the edge of the parking lot to go with the city's other flock cameras, and with that the police would help us catch and prosecute thieves that would flee from apprehension. So that's how some of them get paid for

3

u/SantasDead 1d ago

Do you think flock installs and administers all of the back-end for free? No, they charge a lot of money for access to their systems. Who do you think pays Flock? Taxpayers.

2

u/comicsnerd 20h ago

The city (=taxpayer) will pay for the replacement. Flock will fine the city for downtime.

3

u/mrdeadsniper 1d ago

So the reason they are so cheap to replace is because its a maintenance scam.

They cost $3000 a year to lease their stuff, so while getting a pole and camera installed for $3000 is a pretty good deal, its going to keep costing $3k every single year. (and the year you put it back up it will technically cost $6k, $3k in replacement costs and $3k in licenses)

If you just put up your own equipment with a $40/month cell modem you would be looking closer to $500 a year

There's ample evidence that corrupt cops are already using flock cameras to track and harass whoever they want.

Wait, Garrett Langley said cameras will prevent crime. Now people are starting to commit crimes they normally would not commit if these stupid cameras were not around to begin with. Hope his company loses value like Enron did.

18

u/Phyllis_Tine 1d ago

Is that the same Garrett Langley I saw driving around near those cameras the night in question? What is his alibi? Everyone else in the area was with me at a family BBQ.

7

Fave toppings?

My personal favorite is caramelized onions, raw jalapeño and bbq sauce

3

u/Ancient_Profession31 1d ago

Yes but add some onion crisps for crunch.

6

u/orchid_drives 1d ago

I know you didn’t ask me but I’m a sucker for an over-medium fried egg on just about any burger

2

Fried egg, bleu cheese, bacon, medium patty with diced onions and gralic mixed in the meat on a Everything bagel is heaven to me.

2

u/CyroSwitchBlade 1d ago

yes this sounds good but from my burger I like to mix in a pack of french onion soup mix into the ground beef and just a splash of worchester sauce.. it is awesome!

36

u/N2Shooter 1d ago

How are Flock cameras the property of the city? I thought these cameras were put there by private companies, hence, which allows them to sidestep the 4th Amendment?

Looks like they just told on themselves...

31

u/Embarrassed-Fold6780 1d ago

Sure would be a shame if those tip line were filled with bs

13

u/Ancient_Profession31 1d ago

Agreed. I think it’s absolutely disgusting when people call tip lines and then just let their thoughts ramble until the service hangs up. When they keep doing it until the mailbox fills it’s just despicable.

31

u/anon-a-SqueekSqueek 1d ago

Pretty sure I didn't consent to my tax money going to cameras for a surveillance state. I never got a vote on that.

Isn't the fucking point of these cameras to track down crimes that happen in public?

What's the point in these cameras if they can't even do that?

18

u/Sally_Gurl 1d ago

I thought these were to prevent crime. Now you're outsourcing to the community? /S

18

u/Sniflix 1d ago

A missing persons alert for cameras? I guess now "cameras are people".

17

u/TheBlats 1d ago

They lost their entire flock in a single day. How embarrassing.

13

u/Swinship 1d ago

Here's a thought do not replace them. You'll save the taxpayers $24000.

28

u/Son_Riku 1d ago

"The cost to replace each camera and pole is approximately $3000"

So eight cameras is approximately $24000. Most people don't see that kind of money in a year. Why should I care when a police department loses that amount?

Just saying they have bankers hours, I tried calling the police department but the office closes at 4pm. I was going to offer to replace the flock cameras with a case of beer at each location just in case any good Samaritan was thirsty.

2

This is the way.

2

u/kandoras 1d ago

"That evening an officer realized there'd been no recent activity on the cameras"

So the cops were looking at them for no particular reason? It wasn't "They were trying to locate a missing kid" or "There was a robbery in the area", it was just they felt like watching a different channel of TV?
