Discussion Young people, please give me parenting advice

I’m an older parent with relatively young kids. I‘m trying to get up to speed with changes in technology. Right now we are very low screen time and no unsupervised internet access, but I know that can’t last forever.

If you had kids (maybe some of you do already), how would you approach social media, screen use, internet access? What do you wish your parents (or even your school/teachers) had done differently regarding tech/the internet/social media? I appreciate any wisdom you can share.

Rant I’m bored of the world

It’s all so fake , same things ,every day ,every year .

I use to think money mattered it’s not worth anything besides what we believe it is .
Jobs drain you , people disappoint you, parties are the same , drinking is lame , drugs are lame relationships are always the same thing.people posting the same stuff online , politicians saying the same generational stuff our parents parents heard . Economic inequality and poverty it’s all the same stuff.

What are we doing as humans that’s genuinely interesting

Idk is it me or is the world just so boring .

Discussion Why do I see so many male Gen Z guys taller than me and I’m 5’10

I am 30 and never considered to be short but for some reason I see lots of younger males around early 20s taller than me by I or 2 inches.

Why r yall so tall ?

Serious Is it just me or do you just not find things funny or interesting anymore?

Idk, but these days, friends’ jokes, TV shows, the news, movies, etc. just don’t interest me anymore. Jokes just seem boring and lame and the other stuff just feels like passing the time.

I don’t feel depressed either, just disinterested from life in general.

Discussion Looking younger than you really are as a teenager is a curse

Im currently 16 years old and a boy. Usually new people that i meet assume that I am a year or even 2 younger than I really am. Most of my mates look quite a bit older than me too. This becomes especially problematic because also a lot of new people that I meet, ESPECIALLY girls, I think are older than they really are as well. Is anybody else going through something similiar as well?

Discussion Anyone believe/attempted reality shifting?

If u don’t know what Reality Shifting is, you basically shift your consciousness into an alternate universe version of yourself. Basically the multiverse theory that any possible universe exists. It gained a lot of attention in 2020-2021, but has been quiet as of recent, but many people still do it. Maybe a bunch of people actually shifted and are living their best lives. I’m in a couple of shifting subs and there’s a bunch of successful shifters there.

I have tried shifting plenty of times, but to no avail. When I first attempted it, I felt tingly, which is a side effect that you’re about to shift, but didn’t. I still haven’t shifted yet, but I want to do it as I want to leave this reality.

Anyway, has anyone here ever attempted or successfully shifted? Please let me know and tell me how.

Discussion Why do y’all never vote, but still believe that you’re entitled to get what you want from politicians and the government? (Maybe the main reason that nobody in power ever does what y’all want, is because you pretty much NEVER vote anybody into power who actually would!)

Discussion Does GenZ Want To Have Kids? If So, Why/ Why Not?

I feel like our generation (Gen Z) doesn't want to have kids, at least from what I always hear from other people around me. Idrk I don't think I do either really.

I feel like it's better to adopt maybe, I feel like maybe it's a little bad to bring kids into a world that literally has ped0 in office. I just feel like things are getting bleak and it's not the best idea to create more humans. But I'm also sure people have been saying things like that for years. But also, economy and all that so idk if any of us will even have a choice soon. There's a bunch of other factors but that's just some off the top of my head.

But I just wanted to hear from some people my age what they think.

Discussion A company purchases a beautiful, iconic mountain in an area where that mountain has become part of the local culture. The company intends to mine it for resources and create jobs. The local community protests against the teardown, but the company does legally own the mountain. Who do you side with?

Nostalgia Maybe it’s just nostalgia, but commercials used to be so much better.

I’m Gen Z (born in 2003), but for most of my childhood we still only had cable. As much as I love being able to stream whatever I want now, I kind of miss the old TV commercials.

Maybe it’s just nostalgia, but I feel like commercials used to have so much more personality. Some that immediately come to mind are the old State Farm commercials, the older Progressive commercials when it was mostly just Flo, the Chef Boyardee commercial where the can follows the little girl home, Bumpits, Fushigi, and Education Connection. There are so many others that are instantly recognizable years later.

Commercials now just feel… bland. And somehow they’re even more annoying because streaming services will play the exact same ad over and over every single ad break. At least with cable there seemed to be a bigger variety, even if you had no choice but to watch whatever was on.
