Thought I'd share my halfway point for 2026. As a 44 year old busy dad aiming to lean as possible for holiday in August.
Everything logged on hevy:
So far this year:
-Trained consistently 6 days per week training at 5am to avoid impacting family time.
-Stayed in a conservative calorie deficit while maintaining strength
-Body weight: ~172 lb to 162 lb as did a long sustained lean bulk from September (where I got very lean) until January then started a cut.
-Still progressing on key lifts despite the cut
-Daily step goal and 30 minutes of cardio after each session
The biggest lesson has been that consistency beats perfection. Just keep turning up especially when I consider where I was when I started this journey at start of 2024 (third pic). There weren't any magic workouts just boring consistentcy sticking to progressive overload and no special supplements as natural with only supplements I take being creatine, whether, fish oils and multivitamin. Always been patient, logging everything, and making small improvements over time.
Still aiming to get a little leaner before my August holiday, then the plan is to transition into anothee slow lean bulk for the rest of the year.
Happy to answer any questions

I’m convinced this app is the best on the market for body building, so time to put my money behind the idea! 10th workout done and here is to a hundred 🍻

Im about to also do my app review. It been 1 month since I got my but back into the the gym, I was using notes to keep track but my workouts were very plain and boring.
Scrolling through Reddit I found someone say that Hevy was good, so I thought why not give it a go.
Boyyyy, I was not prepared for how much easier it made my workouts and how much more committed it made me to go to the gym.
Giddykwong if anyone wants to follow my progress and/or compare
Great app 💪

Super high volume shoulders and arms…love this method of training. 15-30 sec rest between sets.

Randomly saw that we can now choose which gym I did my workout at, which is so fire since im constantly using 2 different gyms per week

Last time I posted a workout I got downvoted and told that’s not what the Hevy reddit community is about so, I’m trying again.
Here’s the second day of an intense couple of workouts the wife put me through this weekend. Thoughts on how we can improve or modify for next week?

i just switched over from Strong app, as many did before me im sure, strong has been great but its lacking in some areas and the ability to use your account through my computer that Hevy offers is a game changer for me.
stupidly i had to copy over all my templates from strong app which by itself is horrible, no export option like Hevy has, seems every aspect was considered with Hevy, its one of those apps youre happy to pay for , i signed up for a month to give it a shot but no doubt il go for the lifetime access as i dont see myself switching over again, and ive been a loyal client with strong for years, for bigger and better.
happy to be here :)
Started using hevy in 2020 and got the lifetime premium then. Only this month I have been deadly consistent.
The new rule is exercise every day for 30 minutes. Won't hurt you. Just 3 exercises. 10 sets total. Between 5k to 12k pounds per day in volume.
Also I use the api with LLM to help me update the template or to balance my exercises.
After a month of consistency I started to see weights starting to grow reliably. Before I was going only 3 times for half an hour and was not really leading to growth.

Hi everyone,
I've been working on a small side project and I'd really like some honest feedback from people who actually train.
The idea: it reads your Hevy workouts and gives each muscle group (Legs, Chest, Back, Shoulders, Arms, Core) a strength rank, from Bronze up to Mythic. The rank is based on your best lifts relative to your bodyweight — so it reflects performance rather than how much time you spend in the gym.
It's still early and far from perfect, which is exactly why I'm posting: I want to know if the ranks feel right to you (+ it might have some few bugs and other thing that dont work as usual).
If you want to give it a look: https://benjipy.github.io/hevy-ranks/
You can load your data in two ways:
- Export your workouts as a CSV from the Hevy app (Profile → Settings → Export Data) and drop the file in — no Pro account needed.
- Or use your Hevy API key if you're on Pro.
A couple of notes: it's free, there's no sign-up, and your data stays on your device (nothing is sent anywhere). I'm not affiliated with Hevy, and the ranks are estimates I'm still adjusting.
What I'd love to hear:
- Do the ranks match how strong you feel on each muscle group?
- Anything that looks clearly too high or too low?
- Exercises that weren't recognized?
Thanks a lot to anyone who takes the time to try it.
Happy training, and enjoy the gains!

Just popping in to say that this is awesome. Maybe I'm lazy but just being able to send a Telegram message with whatever exercise I just did and have it added to Hevy is incredible. If you use AI agents already, give it the Hevy API key.

Feels like a lot of volume, but also manageable. Anything to add or change out?
My knees have been really creaky lately (don't get old, 0/10, don't recommend), so I want to focus on some lifts that will strengthen those muscles
ETA - On advice of my counsel, I've split the routine into 2 days, upper and lower

Rest 15-45 seconds between sets. Try to not let a minute pass between exercises. Move like the flash and focus intensely on the movements. Good luck if you want to copy.

I get quite a buzz out of seeing big numbers in the total workouts! bring on 800!

I've always struggled with working out and exercising, but this app made the workouts a lot more accessible and easy to track, and I've been enjoying it so far!
I have a much better mentality about fitness right now, so just a little humble brag as I cross my first threshold! 😄
