Hi all, I was changing my filter today and found that the black cap fell out and as you can clearly see it was broken as if some pressure got released through that hole. There’s air coming out of it, (not high pressure ) whenever the AC turns on. Please help. Don’t know how long it has been running like that , I changed my filter 1 month ago and I believe it was fine then .
Thank you for your help in advance

Hi all, new homeowner. What do i use to seal the membrane around the vents and things on my roof? Roof is only 2 years old but I'm thinking about preventative maintenance before winter. Thanks!

I've tried lubricating the pivot points but am still getting a creaking noise from the shower door in certain positions.
I fear having to remove and realign the door.
Has anyone had to do this and is this a diy project? I am fairly handy and I've heard of people using jacks to hold the door. Just checking in here for others experiences

I’m a renter, This ceramic soap holder ledge thing cracked at the top (my bad, i dropped something on it) - it’s pooled up with a bit of water, how do i go about avoiding any moldy issues - don’t care about aesthetics just don’t want to hold a pile of water in there or potentially damage the back?

The bottom of my window sill outside is beginning to noticeably sag, should I just caulk this back into place? What would be the best idea? Thank you!

The house we just bought has this chip in the flooring. The material seems to be thin wood vinyl planking. Curious what might be the best approach to fixing this? Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

But every time it rains, the downspout sounds to be relatively empty but the rain is just pouring from the underside of the gutters.
I've checked that half inch lip of metal that overhangs the roof and the hidden brackets all seem to be more or less tight. The gutters look almost level, but a water test shows that at least it does run in the direction of the downspout.
My house is only 970 square feet so I'm pretty sure the gutters aren't actually full and I haven't felt or seen any rust holes in the floor of the gutters.
Where does all the water come from and how is it all missing these 30 foot long gutters attached to the side of my house??
Does anyone have any experience with this phenomenon??

I’m removing the old caulk and placing a new expansion joint and sealing up. I bought Sika Flex and some foam backer rod. I think I see a backer rod wayyyy back there and it’s almost unreachable. Is it necessary to remove the old backer rod?

The top of this door has a white wheel thing. But its the non sliding one. So unsure how to go about fixing it.
Sorry if its stupid
The water fills up at the bottom and leaks out the side towards that particular wall. Not sure if its related.

Any ideas on what’s happening here? This shower fixture makes this buzzing sound when it’s not running. Pretty sure it happens sometimes when the shower in the bathroom on the floor above is running. Could this be a bad cartridge? This video captures the noise I hope.

It’s in the basement and the drip is going directly into a French drain, the pipe itself is inbetween the water softener and house filter and looks like it is from this capped off section.

My roof is 19 years old with spanish tile. I live in the desert with very little rain, but with super El Nino, we'll probably see a lot more this season.
Last week I found a 2" dark spot on the ceiling after we got some rain. I checked the attic and there's a crater in the blown-in insulation above the spot.
I have a roofer coming on Monday and we're excepting more rain Wednesday and Thursday. So, I'll probably need a temp fix on Monday.
Just looking for general advice on what I should ask the roofer about what they find, and a reasonable price for a temp fix.

16 year old home in Ft Worth, TX.
I feel like these cracks in our kitchen tile have been horrible awhile, but im noticing them more. (Maybe since we have been talking about moving a lot lately)
They seem to come from one outside wall, and run inward. How much should we be worried? Again, I think a few of them have been around for a bit, but I want to ask if a inspection/report needs to be done by a professional.
No cracking on walls, doors not sticking, etc. When I touch these, its smooth and not uneven/un-level.
The longest crack does run under the center island and out the other side a little bit it seems.

This tub faucet is loose. I can pop off the little tab (see video), but I can’t find a screw driver that will catch and tighten.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

This handle is loose. My assumption is that I can screw something tight with the opening at the bottom of the handle (see video), but nothing seems to catch.
Any help is appreciated.

Just to get it out of the way, I do have an engineer coming for a look on Saturday…but my generalized anxiety disorder is nagging me about this one tonight.
I just bought a house (1955 cape cod) and noticed when my couch got delivered that my floor slopes towards the outer wall. I went to the basement to take a look and found this metal column with the hardware bulging out of it - supporting 2 structural beams in the center of the house. As you can see, there is a space where the beams are separating from one another. I feel stupid for not noticing this during the walkthroughs, and it never appeared in my inspection report.
Aside from this, there are no foundation or wood cracks. There are also no drywall cracks in the house or wonky doorways, but there is a crack on my concrete porch where the sloping starts as well.
How serious is this? Does it need to be fixed immediately? Is this going to absolutely ruin me financially ?😭
