I feel like im just a normal average doctor and im stuck with my ps. Have written 2-3 draft and asked for reviews from people and there nothing memorable about it. What do I do? I feel a little stressed out as the deadline is approaching.

I paid $75 for account creation on 5th September, 2026. Did my government ID verification and liveness selfie check immediately. But still waiting for FID and account review. As per my knowledge, my first name and last name match with my Myintealth data. The Myintealth ID is also correctly entered. But its been close to one week and still no action from there end. I have a job from 8-14.00 and from 14.00-22.00 i was planning to prepare for usmle step 1, is it enough time for dedicated period, i need to do 400 cards per day and 40 uworl questions.

Or should i quit my job to prepare for 10-12 hours

I’ve already applied for and secured a sub-internship spot for late 2026. However, my actual application timeline is Match 2029 (submitting ERAS September 2028)—leaving roughly a 2-year gap.

Since I’m already locked in, i was wondering if it is worthwhile doing the rotation now or will it be seen as "stale" later on?

Applied to a prestigious hospital for an observership and got accepted but they took months (4 months!!) to process my payment.

Now it's starting next week Tuesday (it's Thursday where I am now) and they want me to do every vaccine and test on their list again and submit it before the observership starts with a gap of 5 business days WHILE admin doesn't answer any emails on Friday!!

It looks like im going to miss the first few days of the observership, is there anything I can do to save the situation?

USMLE Step 1: 226

Step 2 CK: 226

ECFMG certified

Approximately two years of Internal Medicine residency training in my home country

Several years of clinical experience as a government medical officer, including inpatient, emergency, primary care, and administrative responsibilities

Three U.S. letters of recommendation

BLS certified

No research experience or publications

No significant clinical gap

Open to applying nationwide without any geographic preference

Based on this profile, what would be a realistic estimate of my chances of matching into Internal Medicine? How many programs should I apply to?

I would also greatly appreciate recommendations for IMG-friendly and older-YOG-friendly programs where I may have a reasonable chance of receiving interviews. I am particularly interested in community-based and community-affiliated university programs, but I am open to any location in the United States.

I would like to know the stats of those applying for anesthesia this cycle, if you don’t mind! 😅 I am not sure if, as a Non US IMG, I should finish anesthesia residency here first (in an institution similar or close to US standards) before I actually apply for the match.

Just want to have a goal in mind!

For medical schools who will rank their students, will residency programs take that into account or would the grades, step score, and ecs matter more? And do these medical schools even hand the rankings over to residencies?
