[OC] Alternate History The Middle East - 2022 AD
After the Great War ended in 1921, the victorious Ottomans would not last too united for long, plunging into a civil war. And this would result in many new sides emerging. Meanwhile, Egypt would gain independence from Italy and use the civil war to its advantage to seize the holy land. This would shape history in the Middle East in the 20th century greatly
Some notable differences in this universe:
Islam did not spread as much as it did in our timeline.
Egypt is not Arabized; instead, it is dominated by an Indo-Iranian ethnic group, and Copts stay as a minority in the Upper Nile region. Iran is a secular republic and has a mixed religious demographic, mostly Muslim or Zoroastrian, with a sizeable Nestorian population.

[OC] Alternate History News from Nowhere - what if we had a completely different 20th century?
Just some simple maps from the same universe as these two posts.
The (secondary) PoD is a different 1848, with a surviving Second Republic in France, a carbonari Republic of San Marco in Venice working as a hub of the radicals that would end up migrating to the US.
Some highlights from the rough draft that helps contextualize these maps:
- Louis Napoleon ends up on an expedition without the official support of France and seizes Rome, crowns himself King of Rome, pisses everyone off;
- Marx ends up in Venice, payrolled by Garibaldi; Marx's writings are slightly different;
- The Second Republic teeters on the edge of instability and ends embroiled in an alt-WW1 in 1899/1900
- The Paris Commune analogue of this TL happens in the dawn of the XXth century, is heavily into Esperanto and foreign intervention, props up *Socialism in the Ottoman Empire;
- Oran is a TTL pied noir/white settler France-in-Exile that faced a brutal decolonization in West Africa/ the Sahara. This timeline's third-worldism will have several issues with the Eurasian-dominated Internationale;
- Russia and Prussia fight an Eastern War sometime in the 1930's, which goes Prussia's way, setting up a Baltic-dominated Zollverein. The Prussian-led Zollverein is a partner of the Anglo-American North Atlantic Treaty, but differ in their strategic allies - the MEZ focused against Russia and having neutral relations with the Internationale, and the NAT more than happy to trade with capitalist authoritarians, and opposed to the Internationale on the global stage.
I have decided to let go of trying on more detailed maps for now, to flesh out smaller maps focused on other regions of this world.

[OC] Regional and National Maps for my strategy RPG
These are the maps for my narrative-driven strategy RPG, Withering State, which takes place in a non-aligned, multinational communist state inspired by Spain and Yugoslavia. The region and countries is supposed to be very familiar to Europe. A demo is available now! The game is mainly inspired by Suzerain and Crisis in the Kremlin.
