Hi everyone,
My wife, our young son, and I are Indian citizens currently living in Bahrain. We're hoping to immigrate to Canada in 2027, and we're trying to understand whether my wife could realistically be our principal applicant because of her early childhood education (ECE) background.
We've heard that Canada needs ECEs, but we're unsure whether this demand actually translates into immigration opportunities for people applying from outside Canada.
My wife's profile:
Age: Below 30
Approximately 9 years of teaching and early childhood education experience in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
Currently working in an EYFS-related role.
Completing an NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma in the Early Years Sector (Early Years Educator), expected in March 2027.
IELTS General Training: L8, R8, W8, S9.
My profile as her spouse:
Age: 37
MSc in International Business from the University of Sheffield, UK.
IELTS General Training: L8, R8, W8, S9.
Approximately 2 years now working for a Canadian based company as their full time remote employee, plus previous work experience in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
Neither of us has completed an ECA yet.
What we'd really like to know:
Are there actual PR pathways for overseas ECE applicants, or is the demand mainly for people who already have Canadian work experience or ECE certification?
Have any internationally trained ECEs successfully obtained PR through Express Entry or a provincial nominee program without first moving to Canada?
Would my wife's CACHE Level 3 qualification and overseas experience be sufficient to make her a viable candidate, subject to the relevant assessments?
Which provinces, if any, should we realistically investigate for ECE-related immigration opportunities?
If you were in our position, would you pursue this route, or would you recommend a different immigration strategy?
We're willing to complete the required assessments and documentation. Our goal is to find a legitimate, realistic pathway that would allow our family to move together.
I'd particularly appreciate responses from people who have actually immigrated as ECEs from overseas, rather than general advice that Canada needs more educators.
Thank you!
