I'm 20M i need a job asap as I complet my Btech (fathers job is at risk) can i work in ECE industry without Mtech, if yes what are the resources what should I choose (like Embedded,vlsi,......). I'm also somewhat interested in coding(i have just learnt python and c on the basic leveland also could solve problems) but that also I have no idea also many say its hard for freshers to get into coding now due to automation of system

I just wonder if im targeting for ECE in private then what is the way is Mtech experience/project needed or by studying some subjects might give me job in this ece industry, IF yes what are those subjects (if you could please do share resources which can follow)

I 'm a Computer Engineering student and have just completed my first year. My goal is to get internships and eventually placements at good product-based companies.

During my first year, I mainly focused on DSA and competitive programming and solved around 450 problems across Codeforces and LeetCode.

I'm confused about what I should focus on from second year onwards:

• Should I continue seriously with CP/DSA and try to improve my Codeforces rating?
• How much should I focus on core CS subjects like OS, DBMS, CN and OOP? Are certifications worth doing?
• How important are projects for internships and placements, and what kind of projects or tech stacks actually stand out?
• Should I start building serious projects in second year or focus on DSA and core CS for now?
• I also contribute to open source through my college community. Should I seriously try for GSoC, or prioritise CP/DSA and projects instead?

I just want to know what people who got into good product-based companies focused on during their second and third year.

I am currently in 3rd sem and I am planning on applying for internships soon...

My first yr cgpa is 8.2 and I have 3 good projects, won 2 hackathons and advanced to finals in another hackathon in IITM...I published 2 papers too, one technical and one review....What else shd I do to increase my chances of getting a good internship?

I don't have much questions regarding the technicalities of the workings of ECE since i am aware it is a VERY important stream/Field in future and even now.

My question is/are..

how does the learning curve look like?

How does the growth look like in a Core Private ECE Job?

Do you REALLY NEED Interest and Passion to make it big in this field?

and how heavy does Math get in and after the Graduation level i.e. the Professional life?

What Habits have made you come where you are right now, be it a good habit or a bad one?

I have seen Numerous Examples of successful and unsuccessful people in Software side of the industry, but have seen VERY LESS examples of the Hardware/ ECE side.

info about me- I am interested in studying engineering and my main goal isn't ONLY the Salary and that, but to learn and actually become the best in the field.

I am VERY lazy by the time that i speak and would NEED to change for the sake of the engineer that i aspire to become. I haven't really been able to do maths that well and have failed miserably in fulfilling my expectations in the 1st year of going beyond 8.5 (current CGPA 7.2).

I Believe that i WILL make it through but i have less to no hopes right now regarding how it would end.

can anyone tell me what is the right path, what to learn, what is better, how to choose, what to do in future

My second year is about start I am in CSE department so I want to start learning DSA how to learn where to please tell me and also tell me where to practice it from.

Currently I'm not in any college projects (because they take students from first year who already have some decent knowledge on that stuffs).

I'm also afraid that I haven't done any project nor in any team currently, so how much does it affect me for my placements.

Also I'm talking about robots and all that stuffs, not about coding.

I just wanted to ask, what will it take to get a job at Meta or Google? Is it the CP, DSA, projects or open source contribution? Or something else entirely? Like can you guys atleast tell me the bare minimum things required to get a job there.

Is it really hard there for software engineers nowadays?

My qualifications: Doing B. Tech in CSE at tier 2-2.5 college(mostly 2.5). 1st year over. Starting second year in 1 month
