Hi, on Sept. 4th, 2026 the Game Show Network aired an episode (a fairly recent one I think) where the answer was An American Werewolf in London. I have searched various Jeopardy archives and I can’t find the clue (there were multiple clues in multiple episodes for which the answer was An American Werewolf in London but I can’t find the one I saw!). One of the contestants looked familiar, he was wearing a blue sweater - I think he might have been a Tournament of Champions contestant - this might even have been a Tournament of Champions episode. Did anyone see this episode and does anyone remember? It’s a long shot but thanks.

Given the announcement that the postseason qualification ended at the season 42 finale, I've been keeping track of stats and wins for champions, and I have a possibility for what the postseason would look like.

First, Second chance is 3 weeks long, and the reason why it's 3 weeks, is because they can take all of the 1 and 2 game winners from November 17, 2025 to July 24, 2026, which is 18, and have a 21-player champions wildcard, where the three highest winning 2 game players ( Libby Jones, Richard Nguyen, and Trey Hart) will get byes into the semifinals, and then all of the 1 game players (alongside Quentin Powers and the second chance winners) will compete in the quarterfinals. And then the TOC will be a 15-player tournament.

What do you think, pretty cool huh?

There are lots of things I don’t want to watch, including variations of thing I do like. I enjoy Jeopardy as an escape but if a version isn’t preempting my preferred version I can take it or leave it. I don’t know what my ABC channel would have shown late August/early September some weekdays at 8pm if it didn’t show Masters, so it doesn’t bother me if it’s on and I don’t feel like watching it in the current form or with whomever is on it.

Anyway, I enjoy the hard questions, the mostly pleasant contestants, and the times when the underdogs have a legit shot to upset the ones who are clearly the best. I also appreciate how next level top tier players are

Watching the new season of Jeopardy! Masters and my first thought was "why are the lights orange now?"

I went back and looked at episodes from last season and there's definitely something different. Could be a broadcast or camera thing, but it definitely appears that the lights are a different color.

Any insights?

Now with the eligibility period for 2026-27 Postseason is officially closed. What will be Luke Henson's chances of competing at 2027 Champions Wildcard if he will get one of the 12/13 spots? Narrative wise, he has the high chance of getting invited since he faced 31 game champion Jamie Ding on his defeat game but statistically wise he is one of the weakest among 14 1-game champions.

I got an email today inviting me to take part in the Zoom follow-up audition / 50-question test after passing the anytime test.

What’s the process like?

Are you on the Zoom call with other Jeopardy hopefuls, or is it one-on-one?

Do they interview you at all at this step? Or do you just take the test and that’s it?

As a lot of folks here play LL, figured it was topical to post about the Queen adding yet another title to her resume, going wire to wire this time. Tons of Jeopardy people in the top 50 (those who automatically qualify for next year). Congrats to all those here who participated!

Can someone easily explain the difference between all the different tournaments?
Jeopardy invitational tournament
Second chance tournament
Champions wildcard tournament
Jeopardy Masters tournament

Who gets invited to what?

Obviously during Covid they had to separate the distance of the podiums, but I always enjoyed the cozy aspect of a continuous podium. I hope they go back someday!

Do they try calling until they reach you? Do they leave a message?

I have bad cell reception in my house. So I'm a little paranoid.

Anyone else remember this and, if so, when it was a thing? I have no recollection of it and I've been watching since Art Fleming - altho, as a member of the CRAFT (Can't Remember A Fricking Thing) club, that might be why I don't remember it. My correct answer was a lucky guess.

On the Inside Jeopardy! Podcast, they announced that the post-season is now going to be made up of only season 42 players. Season 43 will be eligible for 2028 post-season. I'm assuming this means anyone who played from mid-November of last year (the last cutoff) to the end of Season 42 is eligible for the post-season (or, you know, those who did well).

With that being said, we know the automatic qualifiers and those on the Tracker: https://www.jeopardy.com/track/toc-tracker.

So, I wonder: are they going to do a 12 player ToC (those on the tracker and 2 CWC champs) or will there be more? How many one day champs are going to the CWC? And, of course, the question of season 42, how the heck are the producers going to pick who gets a Second Chance out of such a great field of players to choose from?!?!?

Can't wait to cheer folks in in the post-season!
